Ibanez Multiscale Five String Basses
Here's a fun comparison of two ways that Ibanez has approached multiscale basses: the SRMS805 and EHB1005MS. Which one do you prefer? Please let me know. Check out the other videos I've made about multiscale basses here:

Just bought the 805. Knarly metal sound to sweet acoustic like tones. Played both. Didn’t like the EHB. The tone was thinner. The b string was less punchy. Love the mid sweep with low mid and high settings cut sweep on the 805. The whole instrument vibrates when digging in on the lower strings. I love the twangy ness of the c. It’s a hard rock metal thing. The b string when played with layered drive and distortion is amongst the best metal tones I’ve heard. It’s brutal! The increased range of harmonic tone mean I can dial in the tone I want. The Dingwall was not as flexible for me the overall tone was too aggressive. (daddario have an ok choice of super longs string sets for the 805 806) Great vid🤘

There's also a trimpot with the preamp I have read where the preamp can be modded to have more boost overall.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts in this subject. Any chance you'll be reviewing the EHB1005SMS (5 string short scale) ?

Thank you for this video! Were both basses tuned properly before recording? The B string on the EHB sounded out of tune and I couldn't determine if that was due to inharmonicity or just the instrument not being tuned. Also the EHB sounded a bit thinner in the lower register to my ears. I own a headless bass as well 'it's not an (Ibanez) and I love it for the same reason as you do. Ergonomic and can be fit in a guitar bag. It's my main player on the most of the gigs but it requires more work to get a good sound compared to my ordinary basses so I still use my other basses now and then.

The reason the ehb sounded less in tune and weaker in the low end is because the ehb has a shorter scale length
