Out-lifted by a 94KG Bodybuilder? Deadlift and Back Session with Khifie West and Josh Law.

Спорт

I'm joined by The HR Labs team: Josh Law, a regular training partner and monstrously strong bodybuilder, and Knife West: a natural 94kg bodybuilder who can deadlift 300kg for 6 reps.

12:17 His first rep is the hardest because he has the bar too far away from his shins. The next one is easier because when he lowers it it's then in the correct position. Just look at the position of the bar on the first rep compared to the second and third. Eddie has covered this a lot in the past when he was taking the bar from the rack then lowering it to get you into the perfect position.

Short legs is not really true for deadlift, you want a shorter torso relative to your legs usually as it means less leverage on the spine and the ability to stop the back from rounding, which is usually what causes a deadlift to fail.

22 weeks to his comp so a ways to go yet before any kind of mad calorie deficit. Some people can be really strong and be natural. I don't do deadlift because I just train for a hobby (30 years now since I was 16) I only tried deadlift once (after about 15 years of training) and I deadlifted 200kg on my very first attempt. I got up to 260kg but got very bored of deadlifting I just don't enjoy it so don't do it. Anyway, 300kf for reps at 94kg bodyweight is hella impressive either way.
