Thank you so much for choosing my place (Nooit gedacht holiday Resort) after facing few terrible experience on your earlier place in Unawatuna. Thank you so much for your nice review comments on my place and Yes, we are using a generator during powercuts that's why fan is working during powercut. Our ongrid solar system is not working during powercuts so in future we are planning to use backup batteries to provide power during the powercuts without using a generator.(Sometimes we may able to provide AC during powercuts in future 😁) FYI- As a hotel policy we are requesting payment on check in due to some people are trying to checkout without paying at the end.Sometime they checkout without informing to manager or completing the payment.So we have to work with each and every people that's why as a common behaviour we follow "Payment on check in policy".

Unawatuna has a bad vibe all along, locals don't patronise that area much. All the shit happens, its safer to accommodate yourself in a neighbouring town and just visit there on a daily basis. Pls name the place after you leave the country, remember you will help someone else like you not to be cheated. Guys like him are sponsored by dirty local Politicians in the area.

So sorry to hear to about your day, I would say at least leave a bad review so other people would avoid that place.

You really should name the place with the honest review you are giving. I'm Sri Lankan and it's a shame we have people like this that tarnish the honest people. If they've done something unacceptable call them out they have the chance to respond and explain if they feel unfairly reviewed. But you guys have so far been giving stellar advice and reviews! Keep up the good work agreed I'm hoping this person is not going to spoil your so far good experiences. If you do name them someone with some authority good see this and do a investigation as the Tourist Board will also I'm sure be interested in this type of behaviour.

I respect your wish to show all the positive experiences, cause Sri Lanka is a beautiful island with wonderful places and people. But there is also a not so positive side which is important zu show and talk about. It might help other people to understand that its also important to be a little bit careful. Thanks for sharing. Shit happens and its important to also show the dark side of traveling. Glad I'm not alone with the feeling that Unawatuna gives some strange vibes. You know that feeling that everyone just sees you as a walking wallet and is after your money. First place in Sri Lanka for me were I had such a bad feeling. The remaining part of Sri Lanka is just great. Luckily I chose Galle instead of Unawatuna for my accommodation.. Galle is great, Unawatuna not so much.

If you are in unawatuna, go to the 'beach castle'. It's a nice place and have a very good customer service as well. And it is one of my relatives

Police should look into these issues, pushing people out of buses is extremely dangerous.

Your guys are so positive people. This kind of things will make your life experience. Be careful with some of bad people everywhere. Publish the place name and the police station. People will take care of them. This is really not expectable as you guys are bring $ to this place. Take care and stay safe.

So sorry to hear about your bad experience. Although Unawatuna is a nice place, it can get overcrowded. We booked a place, but had to cancel the booking once we seen the inside: appalling. Fortunately we found Mirissa a better destination with decent hotels, restaurants and cafes. The beach is fantastic. Hope you forget what happened and continue to enjoy your stay.

Hi , u guys r fabulous and greatly appreciate the for the marvelous video's done which are needed for the other nationalities to get a true picture of this wonderful nation , greatly disheartened for the experience u had with the bus incident , just for your future reference i think you all would have got into a long distance route bus where they r reluctant take passengers travelling short distances , FYI hence u wont face the same issue next time

Sorry to hear! Unawattana is a great beach! When you are there scout for a B&B that would work for you the best for next visit! Ask the locals, usually they are very helpful! Be safe ! I don’t think the tourist board would like to hear of your bad experience! So it is best you write to them or call when you get to Colombo. Have seen a few blogs with great reviews on Unawattana hotels!

Go to Skybreeze Resturant, it's a great place with great people.

That's unfortunate. I make it a point to scan the negative reviews on booking first and make a judgement call if the review is relatable, Sometimes I feel that may be some of the reviews may be rigged. And it is good you followed your intuition and moved even if you paid them !
