But on 9 .43 minute happened something amazing I saw my favorite book of James Herriot . My eyes are filling tears . Oh , this book so heard touching , l like it so much . I read the book many years ago in our language , when l worked in library . We had this lovely book in library of small Ukrainian village . And now l see this book in English and in the country where it was written . It is marvelous

A man with a tool belt.! So many men ,good husbands , are not “handy” with tools or interested in fixing things around the house. Kirsten, you are so fortunate to have Jorg. He can see things the same way you do and always seems happy to please you. I really like the light sconce next to the clock. It almost looks like white antlers, a “hunting lodge look. ”. Your dining room is so cozy & warm. I can’t wait for the amazing German dinners you will be cooking for guests or just the two of you.❤

To me, a modern, open plan house cannot compete with the old style homes. Formal dining rooms are such a treasure to have and give our lives a touch of eloquence. Love what you did. You should be proud of your choices.

The dining room was incredible! You two have great taste! The antique cabinet was great for storing books and the clock is beautiful!! Wie wunderschön und geschmackvoll und farblich harmonisch alles von den Wänden und dem Teppich , den Möbeln und den wunderschönen Gardinen aufeinander abgestimmt ist. Wenn erst der Tisch und die Stühle noch da sind ist es ein perfektes gemütliches Esszimmer in dem man sich gerne aufhält. Ich liebe diesen Erker mit der kleinen Sitz Bank 🥰

Kirsten we really like the yellow walls it really brightens up the room and makes it look bigger. The curtains are very beautiful. It always amazes me how much Joerg and I have in common. I am a big fan of Frederick the Great too. I have a picture of him in my library and quite a few books about him and by him including a drill manual and instructions for his generals. Beautiful! This was the colour of my bedroom when I was a teenager; it always made me smile when I walked in (it was a north facing room)! My mother used to collect snuff boxes but she tended to go for floral ones! I was very lucky as my parents used to buy me antiques & paintings for my birthdays & Christmases when I was a teenager! Keep them coming! x

From the USA. You inspired me to purchase a new bed quilt and shams which go nicely, same colors, with a bed skirt and shams that I purchased in 1993. Now when I walk in my bedroom, I smile because it makes me so happy.

Beautiful dining room. That room would traditionally have been the front parlour, only for guests, the family would have lived in the back of the house. Hi , Joerg and Kristin. I’m so curious to seeing your dining room 😊. Joerg I’ve bin to Lidl and bought Lübecker Marzipan, they are delicious 🤤. And also Marzipan potatoes, also delicious. Normally I only buy Belgium chocolate or marsepein , but I have to admit that the German Marzipan is also delicious 😋. 25 November were going to the Weihnachtsmarkt in Köln, its a two hour drive for us . They make beautiful brass and also wooden short stands that are specifically made for large Asian Jars so it gives a little lift to it and isn’t sitting on the floor. I love everything you have done. Very eclectic. I remember that lovely armoire and picture that you bought. So much fun watching this video. Very charming.👍🏼🇺🇸🇬🇧🇩🇪

Everything went together so well. I like how you personalise your decor too.The antique books also were lovely to see. I think the little boxes, contents for sniffing, were called snuff boxes. She is also Jane Austin fan and also has some Turkish furniture (similar to your Egyptian table in the attic) from her Husband’s Mom. I love your pale green and pink curtains with the yellow wall color ! i think that the Oak leaves in the pattern mean something symbolically in baroque , decoration, valor or courage or something . Thank you for not going with gray , taupe , chrome and white , , which I frankly can't stand . ❤❤❤💛💗

So viel Stil und Stylisches habe ich hier in Mönchengladbach seit den 80ern nicht mehr gesehen. Hüpft einem schon mal das Herz, wenn man sich wieder findet in anderen Menschen. Und "Der Doktor und das liebe Vieh" ist immer wieder lesenswert. Sehen Sie zu, das Sie auch mal Ruhe finden zum Lesen. Alles ganz wunderschön. Die Wandfarbe ist wirklich der Gipfel zusammen mit den weissen, hohen Sockeln und dem Boden... Hach....! ps. die Vorhänge sind der Hit. Ich glaube, die können sie für immer und ewig da belassen. Hier in Germany gibt es nur noch "Plisses". 🤣🤣🤣

I’m so excited you’re making huge progress in the dining room. Yay! I love the yellow and the fact you painted the walls and built-ins the same color. It helps with flow. The small touches makes such a difference! (The cabinet/cupboard and clock!❤️) I thought of you this afternoon. I went to the fabric store and picked up some William Morris style quilting fabric, remembering a video a while back when you purchased the kitchen tablecloth and talked about your hallway wallpaper. The fireplace really stands out now. Stunning. A very cosy, homily room.

I saw a young British person on YT pointing to the picture rails in her apartment and saying “what are those stupid pieces of wood for, I’m ripping them out”! Anyone with plaster walls knows how essential they are for hanging art. The original ones in my Victorian home have a lovely wreath and garland design, but it’s obscured by so many layers of paint.
