My sister's pattern was Blue Calico. She was married 50 years ago this week (We are in the US). She wore an empire waist gown❤. I am a lover of Johnson Bros. "Friendly Village" my wedding pattern, however, was Willow ware (I am not so fancy). I can hardly wait to come to England someday. It is my dream!

When you redo your kitchen you should include some glass front cabinets to display your Burleigh collection instead of behind solid doors. It is so beautiful!!! I love you both so much. 💓

Oh I could just cry watching this video, I love these two people so much, im so blessed to be able to watch them, im from the US and in 1977 to 1981 I lived in England, I adored it and still do, I love England so much, when Joerg said he was gonna make shortbread i lost it, i so love shortbread and english black tea more than ice cream and cake, i buy walkers shortbread from scotland, yum, Thank you two for sharing your life adventures, be Blessed

If you refrigerate your shortbread overnight on the baking tray after you take it out of the molds, it may hold the pattern better. Putting cold butter into the oven is better than warm butter touched by hands.

We put the dough in the fridge for a while (just didn’t film it). I think shortbread dough isn’t good for the molds but gingerbread dough works perfectly.

I can understand your love for Burleigh Pottery, I grew up in England but never noticed it before. Everyone talks of Denby, Wedgwood and some others. P.S. I loved your tour of William Morris 😘😘

Middleport Pottery has restarted its factory tours, well worth it - this is the only traditional Victorian-style hand-made pottery factory in Stoke now, even the decal transfers are made in-house. We picked up some lovely seconds in the shop some years ago too. Thank you for supporting our local industry!

Never be afraid of mixing patterns when choosing tableware. The Victorians did it all the time, particularly with dessert sets and tea sets. It was considered an aid to conversation, because discussing the tableware was a 'safe' topic.

Hahaha! I indeed broke one a couple of months ago but not intentionally.

My favorite dinner plates are the Johnson Brothers "Old Britain Castles" pattern in pink and cream. However, I loved tagging along on this virtual fieldtrip and discovering Burleigh's ceramics. Add in the gorgeous wallpaper, and the quip "more than perfect" was spot-on.

Kirsten and Joerg, you are simply amazing! Thoroughly enjoy your videos - and your taste in all things quintessentially British is so refreshing. You are a lovely couple and your videos always make me so happy x

Kirsten & Joerg, I really really enjoyed this one!! It's funny that from my late teens all the way through into my early thirties, I never had time to "stop and smell the roses". Between school, work, marriage, children and everything that goes with all of that, I never really took the time to stop and appreciate things. When I was little, I remember my great grandmother and grandma having quite a lot of decorative china. I can even remember my mom having certain things in her china cabinets. It wasn't until I got older and started taking the time to learn the history of various china / pottery as well as fabrics and wallpapers that I truly gained a huge appreciation and love for them. So it is wonderful to see you two always taking the time to highlight the talent and craftsmanship behind the objects! Thanks so much!💝💖💝💖🥰🥰🥰🥰

I so adored your mixing bowl that you use for almost every recipe, that I bought one of my own. I think of you both every time I use it. The navy blue wallpaper is simply breathtakingly beautiful. Such a beautiful shop and I vicariously shopped through you. Joerg was so pleased with his find and he simply exuded happiness which made me smile! The wallpaper though...!!!

I absolutely adore those wallpapers - especially the pale blue one - my friend is going to buy some and cover her very old kitchen table (in a sort of decoupage type way) and repaint her chairs in the pale blue to blend - the stripes in the paper are fabulous - it would have looked amazing in your bedroom ❤❤❤

When I make Scottish Shortbread I use a large metal pan with a decorative design and bake the shortbread right in that. When it's done you just turn it over onto a platter and unmold. Then cut along lines for individual pieces. It's beautiful!

The cure to prevent shortbread from losing its lovely pattern, is to push the dough into the moulds, then put the uncooked shortbread biscuits into the fridge on a tray for about one hour. Trust me, the pattern will stay on the shortbread once it's cooked, because the dough is much firmer - try it and be amazed! Also, it's very delicious - sehr kostlich - to quickly dip the bottom of the cooked biscuits in melted dark chocolate - you still keep the pattern on top, but get a nice surprise on the bottom! Just turn the biscuits over, and let the chocolate bottom harden on a wire cooling rack. I love your enthusiasm for design, Kirsten and Jeorg - it's really lovely to see how much you adore decorating your home, and making it a haven. A designer I think you would really love is English textile and wallpaper artist Mark Hearld - he makes divine patterns of birds, hares, squirrels, clouds and flowers, with a joyful delight in nature - take a peek at his work, and you will gasp with wonder!

To jest typowo eskapistyczny kanał, dawniej - przyznam - trochę mnie irytował, wydawał się nierealistyczny i przesłodzony. Teraz rozumiem, że oni wzięli sobie za cel wnieść trochę piękna, spokoju i radości do naszych domów, niezależnie od rzeczywistości wokół ;-) Pozdrawiam.

I, too, have a weakness for bowls, mainly antique china, stoneware, and wooden ones in various sizes. Bowls are the first things to catch my eye because they can be used for everything including produce, pasta, soup, and popcorn.

I love Burleigh and have been collecting for years. It gives me such joy. My first felicity breakfast cup was love at first sight! These days I'm a calico girl.

You are making a magnificent collection there. The quality of the wares is so good. I love how happy and excited you get about all the things. The Luis Wain film is fantastic, highly recommend.

I feel like the darker Burleigh wallpaper could look so good in the dining room, as well. By candlelight, wow! Although honestly, I do not think you could go wrong with any of them. I totally relate to that "love at first sight" encounter with Burleigh pottery! I first saw it in the Blue Tea Shop in Cambridge in 2001,(sadly no longer there) and took a couple pilgrimages to Stoke on Trent to start my collection before returning to the U.S. in 2003. Collecting still, and my daughters and I love vicariously visiting their shop through your videos!

Those wallpapers are divine. How I love Burleigh designs. I bet that shortbread was good eating. A little tip, especially when using molds for any biscuits, chill your cut out biscuits before cooking. That way the pattern will remain.
