I went to North Grecian street too in the 50s. Mr Mintz died recently, he was a great teacher. Mr Small was headmaster when I was there.Miss Pearson's was the last class I was in before moving to Broughton High. I loved shopping on the Lower Road and the bit we called 'under the verandah'. Thankyou so much for this lovely little film.

My mother told me her mother visited it several times, actually always wanted to "go back" for good, but her husband, my grandfather would not hear of it...

My eldest aunt was born in Salford because my grandmother was afraid to have the baby over here, lol...Funny, when I look up "ships crossings" , she was there for quite some time, lol 6 or 8 months...to have the baby. My grandfather was an upholsterer and had his own shop in the States...

Some old friends of mine pictured having fun with a pedestrian crossing post. I suspect that this was taken on Lower Broughton Road, probably after getting high on milkshakes at the Milk Bar.
