I visited Salford some years ago to see off set Corrie locations. enjoyed myself. I see Alpha Street is in this video, that street was used in the 1990-2002 opening credits very first shot looking towards Manchester.

What's wrong with this place, I see just neat houses, occupied and cars.... that means people are living there..... What went so wrong back then it became a crime ridden, run down boarded up area with no residents and demolished good old terraced houses turn into cheap cartbox/creton housing? Tell me....if this place was so good, why did the people left back then? Council with wrong urban prestige refurbishment ideas, the people itself.....how did it come this far?
