Our First Visit to the Mt. McKinley Princess Wilderness Lodge! Exploring Alaska!

This weekend we had the chance to visit the Mt. McKinley Princess Wilderness Lodge just outside of Trapper Creek, Alaska! We're doing a work project with them and we LOVED getting to see the resort, enjoy the BEAUTIFUL room they gave us, and see all of the wonderful spaces around the property!
It's always fun discovering gems like this resort here in our home state. It gives us lots of ideas for future staycations and places to potentially take guests when they visit Alaska!
The drive gave us a beginning taste of Fall colors and made us excited for what we would see later on in this trip.

Loved the Bearista joke!! The covered wagon in the beginning of the video may have been from the Black Diamond Ranch. We were there in May and there's an excursion where they pick you up in a bus and drive out to the ranch. Then you get on the covered wagon and the entire evening riding around and learning about the area. Sometimes you see wildlife. The they feed you an enormous hot meal , put you back on the wagon and take you back on the bus. The trip is about 3 1/2 hours long and w got back to the lodge about 10:30. It was great. Your video was great, just wish you had shown more of the Princess resort. Thkx.

We enjoyed our cruise on the Royal Princess but our stay at the Mt McKinley lodge was nothing like your video. Our room was in a huge need of repair and cleaning. The carpet was stained the bathroom was awful. I think you were given a room to impress not what is included with the cruise tour. We did love the cruise and the service at the lodge was great but I would rate the hotel at 2* if that really glad we only had to stay one night.

I totally agree. We stayed at the McKinley Lodge in May, in the big beautiful Canyon Lodge building and our room was also dirty and in need of repair. Everyone on our Holland America cruise tour said their rooms needed cleaning. Adam and SheriBeth stayed there last month and were given a very nice room. Carnival owns both places and only wants nice rooms advertised. Their lodges are very nice. Just the rooms need cleaning and work. We found their hotel in Fairbanks was even worse.

LOVED staying at this Lodge in May 2019 prior to a South Bound Princess Cruise - all was amazing! Got to see Denali 2 days in a row and listened to a Naturalist talk in the Tree Masters treehouse which was pretty cool as well. Princess does such a great job!!

So I loved that you took us on your Princess Alaskan cruise, and now this tour. It prepped me for my own cruise, scheduled 8/31-9/12 with land, but I stupidly only brought my passport Card and not the book. Big mistake, couldn't get on the boat. So hubby and I did some solo Alaska trotting, hoping to join the Land tour portion; then tested positive for Covid so couldn't make it. We would have been there right about now. Thanks for showing us around.

Alaska is very different than what most people think. It's not always snowy and cold. Our summers regularly get into the 70's and sometimes even 80's and 90's.
