Exploring Alaska’s Hidden Gem | Petersville Berry Picking Adventure

Ойын-сауық

In this video, we take a trip to one of Alaska's most hidden gems; Petersville, Alaska! Most who don't live in Alaska have never heard of Petersville, and many that do live in Alaska have never been. The road to get to Petersville, specifically the very backside butted up against Denali National Park, is full of missive cratering potholes, rivers running through the road, and steep inclines and declines, therefore making it beyond tough to get there.
The up close and personal views of Denali, the many colorful marsh flats, and the abundance of wildlife made this trip one of the most fun trips we have ever taken. We hope this video accurately represents at least a small portion of the beauty that Petersville, Alaska has to offer!

Hi, we are Emily and Matt, and welcome to A Glimpse of Alaska! In September 2022, we (along with our puppy Aurora) made the nearly 5,000 mile drive from our home in Florida to our new home: Alaska. We created this channel to document and share our adventures in this wonderful state.
We appreciate each and every person who spent time out of their day to watch this video! If you enjoyed this video, please consider liking and subscribing to our channel. We will be continuing to document all of our Alaskan adventures including hiking, fishing, gardening, working on our homestead and so much more!

We use the eggs in a bottle trick for camping and we love it! Saves dishes and fridge space! What a beautiful area. We are planning to take our camper up to AK next summer. No plans as exactly where- but we are in Dallas and have a wedding in Idaho to attend so my husband says we are already have way there and we both want to add an AK sticker to our map :) Cheers!

It really is so useful to know! That sounds like the coolest idea!! We would be doing the exact same if we didn’t live here. We may be biased, but we truly think Alaska is the best place on earth. Maybe you can use some of our videos for inspiration on where to go in AK? Enjoy your trip!!

@@AGlimpseOfAlaska I don’t think I’ve paid attention to exactly your whereabouts, but I will have to start. My husband’s been to Alaska before the type where you get dropped off in the middle of the wilderness and pack everything you need and go fishing for a week and float down the river and then if you are at a specific place at a certain time they come look for you but basically you’re dead to the world for a week to 10 days. 🤣 It should be a lot of fun I’m looking forward to it. Debating if we’re gonna put our RV on a ferry one direction. I grew up in PNW and miss the mountains so much. I know the AK trip will make me miss it greatly!

We were there last summer in august and found a bunch of blueberries just on the west side of Hatcher pass on the way down from the pass. We also found a bunch of different varieties when doing the trails at matanuska lakes state recreational area. We did the trail around long lake. Also found a lot of berries at govt peak recreational area north of Palmer. We did the blueberry knoll trail. If you haven’t driven the Hatcher pass road from Palmer to willow, you should. Very pretty drive. Also sometime drive the Denali highway. Beautiful views and lots of wildlife.

Beautiful views and landscape. When you arrive at any river / stream try to walk along the edges that is where you'll possibly have more luck finding Blueberry bushes as they will enjoy the constant water supply. Also swampy areas again provide water for constant growth. It's just a matter of getting acclimated to the areas, it takes time and ask the locals..
