You are lucky then, but still need to be careful as if you are tourist the price for food etc will be different. Even it happens to Indonesians who speak different dialects, charged for different prices.

Hi guys. It's great that you've been to Sarawak, but that's really only a small part of Borneo. After all, the Indonesian part occupies around 73 percent of the island with five provinces and I'm from one of them 😊 Hope you'll visit our wilder, bigger, and much better side of Borneo soon. Only then you'll be able to experience the real equatorial heat which makes both Jakarta and Sarawak feel like the Alps. 😁 Cheers!

Instead of going to Bali, the most beautiful white beach with a bunch of affordable world-class hotels can be found in Belitung Island, only 45 minutes flight from Jakarta. Hopefully you would have chance to visit this amazing island.

I have some recommendations for places to visit in Java for you guys : 1. Jakarta = National Monument (Monas), Jakarta Thousand Islands, Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII), PIK2, SCBD Area, Amusement park (Ancol and Dunia Fantasi or DUFAN), Istiqlal Mosque and Jakarta Cathedral etc. 2. Bandung = Tebing Kraton, Braga Street, Kawah Putih Ciwidey, Bandung’s Tea Plantations, Orchid Forest Cikole, Tangkuban Perahu, Gedung Sate, Bandung Geological Museum, Al Jabbar Mosque etc. 3. Semarang = Kota Lama Semarang, Lawang Sewu, Sam Poo Kong, Masjid Agung Central Java etc. 4. Yogyakarta = Prambanan Temple, Borobudur Temple (in Magelang), Ratu Boko Temple, Malioboro Street, Gunung Kidul Beaches, Merapi Volcano, Taman Sari Water Palace, Vredeburg Museum, Pasar Beringharjo, Museum Ullen Sentalu, Plaosan Temple, Hutan Pinus Pengger, Parangtritis Beach, Goa Jomblang, Kraton Yogyakarta, etc. 5. Malang = Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park, Tumpaksewu and Kapas Putih Waterfall (in Lumajang), Museum Angkut, Jatim Park 1,2,3 , Kampung Warna Warni, Florawisata San Terra de Lafonte etc. And Enjoy Indonesia, guys….😊

Hi guys,if you want to see the modern side of jakarta,you can go to Sudirman Central Business District ( SCBD ) and you can get a New York or Dubai vibes with a modern glassy skyscaper... And you must to visit ASHTA MALL at that SCBD area and go to the balcony on the top floor.. You can see the magical view on there... After that you can visit to SENAYAN PARK ( SPARK ) not to far from SCBD and go to the skywalk at the rooftop Mall My suggestion you must visit at sunset time ( 5.30 pm until 7.00 pm ) and you can see the amazing view of skyscaper lightning in the night view... You learn Bahasa Indonesia so quick. Perhaps I can give you suggestions for nice travel’s route from Jakarta to Bali overland. Jakarta-Bandung-Bogor-Purwokerto ( Central Java )-Dieng Plateau- Jogjakarta - Solo-Tawang Mangu- Malang ( East Java)-Bromo volcano- Kawah Ijen ( blue fire lava) in Banyuwangi. From Banyuwangi you can take ferry from Ketapang to Gilimanuk Bali. The best transportation to go by trein or bus. On the way you can enjoy beautiful landscape there. Enjoy your travels Naomi and Luke.

I only visited Jakarta few times in the mid 1980s when my late dad was a diplomat. My late mom passed away in Jakarta and a year later and my late dad married to a lovely Indonesian lady from Jakarta. She's very good with baking the betawi spicy layered cake. 😀

​@@TwoMadExplorersI don't know what you heard about Malaysia and Indonesia but Malaysia has been burdened by millions of illegal immigrants, mainly from Indonesia and Bangladesh. Many of them stay in Malaysia without a legal working permit and it caused imbalances in Malaysia. It's made worst when the illegal immigrants are caught by authority and send back home to their home countries. I suspect, I assume, this has caused bad stories from their bad experience and spread it to their people and blamed Malaysia for their own defiance. It's a sensitive issues between Malaysia and Indonesia. I saw few Indonesian UTubers with unfavorable videos about Malaysia but there are more Indonesian UTubers who came up with good videos about Malaysia. I feel, both Malaysian and Indonesian are good people. 😀
