Sadly, yes. 😭 We only have one more video from Jakarta. Our two months in Indonesia was life-changing and we'll never forget the incredible memories we made there. But we don't only want memories, so we're booking another flight to Jakarta in the next month or two. We just need to decide if we go east or west from there. It's such a touch decision! There are so many places in Indonesia we still want to discover, and we know another two months won't be long enough! 😅❤️

Awe!! You made it to my hometown of Jakarta!! 🎊👏😍yeah, that Cafe Batavia is one of a kind and a must visit for those who are in the city! You should go to Puppet Museum (across street from it) - one of my fav! Too bad you don’t have much time but I highly recommend to go to *Taman Mini Indonesia Indah* (B’tiful Indonesia in Miniature Park) basically it is the whole🇮🇩 in a giant park (not really mini!!) 😄where you can see ALL traditional houses, traditional clothes from each province! Sunscreen is a must since it is a huge park but not like Central Park of NY with lots of trees that help from getting sunburn 👍 Some tips to share with you: 1. You can just say *Makasih* (short version of Terima Kasih) 2. Take Metro and or Busway instead of grab (very comfortable and easy to go around but a lot cheaper) 3. Try not to have ice cubes in your drink at street vendors (unless your tummy has been “Indonesianized” - you know what I am talking about!) 🤭 4. Jakarta’s traffic is just 😮 🫣 so if you’d prefer to be more adventurous experiencing the traffic(versus taking a Busway or metro), you can try Gojek ordered from an app (a Uber version of motorcycle - yes the driver will give you a helmet) 5. Jakarta has (probably) hundreds!? malls - I used to love going to malls to hang out but as I get older and appreciate more of street vendors / less fancy, I’d only go there to see a movie or to hang out for a coffee with friends 6. The taste of street vendors foods is the winner 🏆 hands down!! 7. *Jalan Sabang* is the center of street vendors culinary (pretty close to where you guys are staying): *sate kambing (goat satay), soto ayam (chicken noodle soup), soto Betawi (Jakarta’s beef soup)…* oh too long to mention them all here!! 😂 are REALLY worth having!! 😍 Did you know Satay is originally from Java!? That’s why you won’t find any BESTEST satay peanut sauce anywhere else in Asia countries but 🇮🇩 (LOL a proud Indonesian here!) 🙏🏽🤭😂 I am a world traveler too so I know! 😄 8. If no prices listed on the menu, make sure you ask first before ordering!! *Berapa harga?* (just in case as I recently went back and ate out with some friends and no prices listed on the menu & 😂 the foods weren’t worth the price (*not* at Jalan Sabang though!) 9. Though Jakarta is most likely a city of more than 11 millions people living there now, you’d still get the vibe of their friendliness and kindness and it is safe! Esp that you guys are *Bule* 😂🙏🏽 10. Happy traveling!! I have been catching up watching your GREAT VIDEOS!! Awe!! You guys are SOOOOOO cute together!!! First of all, let us say, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your tremendous kindness. 🥹🥹 We were speechless to receive this incredibly well thought out and informative comment as well as your SuperThanks! It warmed our hearts and made us very grateful. Your tips are awesome! We started learning some of these nuances as we were making our way through the country. We only had so much time on this visa, but we feel on one hand, we should have started in Jakarta and on the other we saved the best for last! We had some friends from home to meet in other countries, but now that we’re back on our own, we’re planning a return trip to Indonesia, starting in Jakarta to fully explore the city before moving on to other regions! We will be able to use all of this great info to better navigate and experience Jakarta to the fullest. Once again, thank you for your kindness, wisdom and support. Actually the bakwan jagung u had, is a Menadonese ( North Sulawesi) style. While the bakwan that u had in Bali, was a Javanese & Balinese style. They crush the corn & mix it with the spices & flour.

Indonesia is not only the island of Bali and Java, Indonesia still has the island of Sumatra, the island of Kalimantan, the island of Sulawesi, the island of Nusa Tenggara, the island of Ambon, the island of Papua. Even the island of Madura itself is still part of the island of Java. I think you need 1 year to be in Indonesia exploring from western Indonesia to eastern Indonesia itself. If you understand Indonesia enough, you can stay for a very long time, around 5-8 years in Indonesia. many languages, many tribes and many cultures, but in one national language, namely Indonesian. Regarding local food, every region in Indonesia has many types of wet and dry cakes. I think you will fall in love with Indonesia as your home to spend the rest of your life in Indonesia. My word is, never be embarrassed or give up easily on learning Indonesian.

Yes, Indonesia is such a diverse and rich country. Two months definitely was not long enough, and we're already making plans to explore different islands when we return. There is so much we still want to see there, so hopefully this won't be our last time. 🥰❤️

Haha, I've heard that before and can kind of see the resemblance. 🥰 Philadelphia is far from our home, but it would be worth it to drive there just for martabak, and we'll be on the lookout for other Indonesian foods as well. We are actually in Hanoi right now and found a Cafe Batavia. We haven't been yet, but we're excited to try it and compare it to the one in Jakarta! ☺️

You should definitely try getting sate from street vendors at Sambas, South Jakarta!! Hands down the best I've ever had. There are many vendors there, my favourite is Sata Jupri - midnight sate from there never disappoints

Hello! 👋☺️ We can only stay as long as our visa allows, which at this point was only a few more days. But we want to visit more places in Indonesia, so we will be back to Jakarta for sure. So difficult to do everything in one trip.

Haha, it was teeny tiny! We ended up having to be there a little longer than we expected too. The staff was so lovely and the bed quite comfortable. 😅😬

Next harus ke Labuan Bajo dan Raja Ampat sih, saya jamin 100% tidak akan pernah menyesal. ✌✌
