Ace's death is reality check for Luffy. Luffy is never same after this, after this he took things very much seriously and didn't just ran headfirst towards problem but actually followed plans in almost all arcs.

I know this doesn’t necessarily relate to this episode, but the irony of the current admirals are so crazy. Kizaru has a light speed devil fruit but is really slow, Aokiji has a ice based powers but has a warm heart (Water 7) and for being magma based Akainu is cold hearted. Really shows Oda’s characters….excited for the future of new character introductions!!

This reminds me of what Emily Rudd, who plays Nami; she said'' Shanks was the daddiest daddy'' This title is very accurate😄

buggy doesn't hate his devil fruit power specifically, he hates the curse of the sea that comes with it. he is a treasure hunting fanatic, and most lost treasue is sunk at sea. no matter what type of devil fruit it was, he would hate shanks for indirectly scaring him into eating it.

Your correct accept buggy is way more Petty, he was literally holding a grudge against shanks because he couldn’t follow a map to a piece sunken treasure and he was planning on selling to the devil fruit, I think his dream just has to do with being rich and shanks ruined that, but he’s defo not once stated he hates his fruit.

Shanks, He is 37, has 1 arm and a weapon of choice is a regular old sword. This man casually strolled into the middle of a WAR. The people participating in this war aren't any old people... We have people that can manipulate magma, light, ice, fire, blackholes, earthquakes. We have people that can transform into diamond, a phoenix and even a fooking Buddha! This man Shanks walked into the middle of THAT war and said "This shit is done". And you know what happened? The war f*cking ended.

I love the fact that a one armed ginger with no devil fruit is the most bad ass character in a world full of insanely cool characters 😂 Shanks will forever be my top 1

Idk why but Shanks always shady to me. I think Oda's inspiration for Shanks is Long John Silver from the novel Treasure Island. Both of them are handicapped, honorable and vicious at the same time, smart, plans ahead and a father/mentor figure to the protagonist. But then, turns out he's the villain all along.

"you guys" means Shanks and his crew....Teach already scar'ed Shanks and Shanks said it himself that he didn't drop his guard when Teach give him that scar....i think Teach is ready for the smoke but his crew are not...he just got his crew out from prison and not to let them fight a strong crew right after execpt the navy because they are already exhausted and injured. And he want his crew to be a DF user by his choice thats why they ran from Akainu that time when they capture Boney and Teach is literally afraid of Akainu ( incase you bring this scenario up ).

Being the strongest doesn't mean you take every fight in front of you. You can be 10 times stronger than any person alive, but if there's 40 people that can cause you issues, it is not a good battle to pick. Too much to lose.

As stated, Shanks crew is the most balanced in terms of strength. That means each crew has close in strength to their captain. No weak links. Yes Whitebeard is the strongest man, Kaido is the strongest creature. That would also make sense that both Whitebeard and Kaido is stronger than Shanks in 1 on 1 fight but would not stand a chance against an all out war together with Shanks' crew. So Blackbeard's also would be annihilated by Shanks' crew.

All of them were afraid af from Shanks, that really shows how damn powerful he is ^^

Sengoku knows a lot about a lot of things. Garp knows a lot too. We're going to find out more and more about what they know and how it has affected their actions, I'm sure. Shanks has to either be massively powerful or there's something in addition to that going on, or both. At some point there's a bit about his 'fleet' that sails under his flag. I don't know what I was expecting but it didn't turn out to be what I was expecting, if that makes any sense. Perhaps the thing I'm waiting for most in this series is the scene that was in this episode: Shanks' Red-Haired Pirates crew's pose in the midst of a battle field that had been frozen briefly by both Koby's outburst and their arrival, except instead it's each member of the Straw Hat Pirates showing up someplace together and the powers that be recoiling in fear at the thought of messing with them. It goes along with Whitebeard's comment about throwing down a gauntlet in front of the world. There's been enough hitting the fan of late but I have a feeling that scene will be up there with Enies Lobby and the walk to Arlong Park and what we've seen at Marineford, and very possibly surpassing them.

I love Akainu! He's like a terminator. Pirates operate with impunity in the One Piece world because the marines are basically pushovers to them. It's good that there is a badass no-nonsense marine that can strike genuine fear into them.

Akainu's absolute justice is something that that world needs but he, himself, displayed some of the dumbest tactical strategies. He actively ignored a massive eminent threat in Blackbeard, who possesses 2 devil fruits, one of which is widely known and considered by the marines as a world-ending power. All in favor of killing a "possible" that threat. That is quite possibly one of the stupidest things a marine with his strength could have thought up and was pretty small brained with no forethought at all.

The funny thing about this whole turn of events is, if I recall correctly (and anyone feel more than free to correct me here), Oda later admitted that he didn't originally plan for Shanks to show up. If that really were the case, I wonder what other route he would have taken to end the war? Perhaps we may never know..... BTW, one thing I can definitely address with certainty is Oda's stance on Luffy killing his enemies. He explained early in the series' run that when Luffy defeats his opponents, he crushes their dreams/spirit, which, in a way, is a fate worse than the sweet release of death. I'm pretty sure that same rule applies to at least most of the good guys, as well. Take from that what you will....

Later we know that devil fruits have souls in them and the fruits chose its user as well. In other words, buggy didn't chose to eat the bara2 fruits, the fruit chose him.

Not much has been said about OP's music throughout the series. Not since Naruto, have I loved a major anime's soundtrack!!

Shanks warned Whitebeard because he saw the big picture. It could be said that he knew that Teach was planning something big and that thing took the place of the whitebeard and caused a war 😮😢

I think in part, Sengoku's plan was to never really broadcast the execution and yet it did happen and so he feels thats their fault possibly doing enough damage to the navy so he needed to compromise for some honor to restore their image

22:06 the truth is,blackbeard is actually really smart,he's a schemer..all of this happened according to blackbeard's plan (minus shanks just suddenly appeared maybe) first,he chased luffy for him to get warlord title,failed..and he changed his target to ace,he knew that whitebeard's crew will try to save ace and that there will be a war against the marine and when the focus of the marine was on marineford to prepare for ace's execution,he infiltrated impel down to recruit some of the strongest criminal before showing up to the war when both sides already weakened he knew exactly when to show up,and of course he already planned to take whitebeard's power,he just wasnt sure whether it will be a succes or no,he took risks

Zoro and Sanji have never fought, the only time it came close to a fight, Zoro punked him. Only 2 Straw Hat members have fought each other to a serious degree, Luffy and Zoro. The strongest members in the crew. The strongest of the supernova. The future strongest characters in the entire verse.

I dunno Buggy is mostly a schemer (both luky and unlucky at times) i don't think their friendship goes both ways exactly like Zoro and Sanji , which bicker but always got each others' back . Shanks is likely the one truly holding Buggy in higher regards

I believe it's 6 years post time skip, so it's 4 years here.

One thing we do have to understand is that there are a lot of evil pirates in one piece and it is true that a lot of ordinary people suffers from the hands of pirates. But since we see things mostly from the view of the straw hats, it is common to have misconception like all the pirates are kind like whitebeard, luffy and shanks. I would say the navy and akainu just did what they have to, which is to kill both ace and whitebeard as their goal. The reason why we hate akainu is only because he killed ace, but we must acknowledge that it was very clever of him pissing ace off purposely and reached the navy's goal. The only one who really won is in fact blackbeard, who basically got everything he wanted without giving up anything. Therefore, blackbeard is the real villain but akainu is not. (he is just being hated)

I think the Marines managing to end Roger's line is a HUGE win for them. Killing an Emperor as well is (at first) a massive feather in their cap, but it all depends on who is going to take Whitebeards's place as an Emperor. Someone more active and aggressive than Whitebeard could spell more trouble in the future for them.

People be doing the same thing that Whitebeard and Ace be doing which is underestimate Blackbeard because he acts like a fool. Shanks even warned Whitebeard about this and yet everyone thinks he is such an easy mark. Whitebeard is a tank of a person and Blackbeard uppercutted him off his feet and karate chopped Ace's (who by no means has a weak body) spine out of place. Blackbeard is built like Tyson Fury and punches like him too.

I think they are still not understanding yhe character traits and the world of One Piece in general. Just because someone is portrayed good in the anime doesn't mean they are good from common people's perspective. 1 good pirate out of 100 wont change people perspective. N thats the whole reason Navy exists, to maintain law and order. Of course navy is not pure either but those who believe in justice will do anything to make the world a better place.
