Our Chicken Tractor Coop and Homemade Chicken Feed Recipe

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Our chicken tractor coop build contains both a chicken coop and a chicken tractor in one! This a-frame mobile chicken coop allows chickens to free range on fresh grass while staying safe.
Also, today I'm sharing our homemade chicken feed recipe! This is a recipe my husband came up with, and it has worked well for our chickens.

HOMEMADE CHICKEN FEED RECIPE INGREDIENTS:
33% wheat
25% peas (can use all green peas or 17% green, 8% yellow peas)
15% oats or barley (interchangeable)
10% black oil sunflower seeds rstyle.me/+GumDXJa1rD8aUCuLVJ...
6% millet
5% grubs (black soldier fly larvae) amzn.to/42fpqxH
4% flaxseeds
1.5 to 2% Nutri-balancer
If measured in pounds, this comes out to about 90 lbs. of wheat, peas, sunflower seeds, millet and 10 lbs.of grubs, flax, and Nutri-balancer.
Mix all of the ingredients together in a large bucket and feed to your chickens as you would normally use feed.
The grains and sunflowers seeds are soakable/sproutable, if desired.
If you want to soak the grains, you'll need to separate the last three ingredients (grubs, flaxseeds, and nutri-balancer) from the grains.
We premixed the grains in one barrel (large trash can with lid) and the other 3 ingredients in another barrel. Then we used 9 scoops of grains for every 1 scoop of the other ingredients.
(If soaking or sprouting, be sure to only soak the mixed grains, and not the last three ingredients.)

We get the wheat, peas, oats, barley, flaxseeds and Nutri-balancer from Azure Standard.

I would probably still have chickens if I had this type of coop. Looks great!
