you do not have to use Xcode to edit info.plist , it is simple XML file, any text editor will do, just add the tags as shown in the video. This instruction worked for me btw, thanks a lot!

thank you i did this when I had problems and it worked. 1) Restart mack and either hold down CMD+R or the ALT (option) button after the chime to go into Recovery Mode. 2) Once Booted, click on Utilities menu at the top of the screen and select Terminal. 3) Type in: "csrutil disable; reboot" without quotes and hit Enter. If everything was done correctly, the system will reboot. You will now be able to paste the list file without any problems. 4) To get system protection back, do the same thing as above, but type in "csrutil enable; reboot" without quotes.

Very nice... Take care if you are running El captain, because Apple introduced System Integrity Protection, also known as "rootless", with OS X 10.11 and higher. This would "block" you to modify the plist, or replace it. Use the command "csrutil disable" via the Recovery terminal to disable this SIP protection... Then you can reboot and modify the "content" folder to apply to you the rights to modify the plist. That was the only thing missing on this video. Everywhere else on the Internet they forget to remove the "pre" word on the "preUSB..." line... That was my mistake. Thanks :D ( I was running a MacBookPro 8,2)

This is great stuff. In case you also struggle with System Integrity Protection that prevents copying the modified Info.plist into the application, I figured that instead of disabling System Integrity Protection I just copy Boot Camp Assistant to the Desktop and the apply the modified Info.plist to that clone and then start the clone of Boot Camp Assistant from the Desktop.

I don't know if this will help, but I copied Boot Camp on to my desktop. After that I was able to save the plist file with "pre-" removed from the same desktop app content file. I opened Boot Camp app (the desktop copy) and it let me create a bootable Windows disk. Now I am still unable to successfully create a bootable USB drive because Boot Camp only allows 64-bit Windows.

For those of you that are having trouble pasting the list into the content folder, you must disable Rootless System Integrity. To do this, follow the instructions below: 1) Restart mack and either hold down CMD+R or the ALT (option) button after the chime to go into Recovery Mode. Hope this helps.

Issues and how to solve: Q: Having a problem to replace the Info.plist? A: Stop trying to replace, just copy the Boot Camp app to another location, then you open the package, the contents folder, replace the Info.plist and use this app, not the original Mac's app. Q: The Boot Camp now shows the option to choose the ISO but I can't make progress with Win10. A: Open the Info.plist inside the Boot Camp package, find the SupporedNonWin10Models entry, look for the string that point to your device model and remove it.

LizardTown Full solution: 1. Add your Boot Rom Version(from system info) under DARequiredROMVersions.2. Add Model Identifier(from system info) under PreUSBBootSupportedModels3. Delete "Pre" from "PreUSBBootSupportedModels", so you have "USBBootSupportedModels" The first 3 steps are same as before and if its not clear you can easily google solutions with screenshots. The next step is only for OSX 10.9, as it employs some kind of code signature to prevent you from changing info.plist and cause bootcamp to crash. 4. Open your terminal, use the following commandsudo codesign -fs - /Applications/Utilities/Boot\ Camp\ Assistant.app Sudo means using administrator privilege and u need to enter your mac password. And the command resigns the bootcamp application so that it runs with the new info.plist file and not crash. 5. Continue on with your installation.... Cheers.

The problem is that after I have modified the info.plist file I am unable to replace the original in the Bootcamp Assistant application. There is no paste function that appears and if I make a copy of the Bootcamp Assistant application and update that and then try copying to Utilities folder to overwrite original I get an message telling me that "Boot Camp Assistant" can't be modified or deleted because it's required by OS X. SO I am stumped here. Does anyone have a solution to this?

For anyone on Macbook Pro mid-2010 (MacbookPro 7,1 in this parlance) who is stuck seeing "Create a Windows 7 Install Disk" only and does not see "Windows 7 or Later" you will need to also add your model identifier, i.e. “MacbookPro7,1” on - PreESDRequiredModels - PreUEFIModels - USBBootSupportedModels. AND delete the “Win7OnlyModels” section.

yeah so in the tutorial you are show that you have to update info.plist file in Xcode. In the demo you only have to change the model identifier but if you are having the same problem as me you also have to update the other fields i mentioned: - PreESDRequiredModels - PreUEFIModels - USBBootSupportedModels. AND also delete the “Win7OnlyModels” section. then restart everything as a precaution and you should be up and running.

Cy Rus I added my model identifier (MacBookPro6,2) within the 3 fields u requested. And deleted "Win7OnlyModels" entire section...but I didn't get the option "Install Windows 7 or later version" Do I have to also add "DARequiredRom"version....if yes, then how shud I do that...cuz I don't have this option in the "Info.plist" how can you help here !!!

Clear and full solution: 1. 4. Open your terminal, use the following command in the bracket remember DO NOT include the brackets (sudo codesign -fs - /Applications/Utilities/Boot\ Camp\ Assistant.app) then type in your password, here you won't see the characters when you type your password, so just type it and press return. Sudo means using administrator privilege and u need to enter your mac password. And the command resigns the bootcamp application so that it runs with the new info.plist file and not crash. 5. Continue on with your installation.... VOILA.

+Brandon champ You can easily goto 'Spotlight Search' (it's the search button on the top right corner of the computer) and type TERMINAL, you can also find it in Launchpad or Finder.
