I get the sense Uniek was somewhat aware she'd lost her foal and also was somewhat aware you'd found her a replacement. I mean she literally did a happy dance. I didn't even know that was a thing horses could do. And went right to sticking her face in his butt to smell him, like she was shouting YES BABY PHEREMONES, I WANT ALL OF THEM.

Words cannot express the heartbreak I feel after hearing about Queen Uniek's passing. My heart didn't want to accept it. Alas, such is the reality of the world. It was this video that made me subscribe two years ago. My mother had just passed away a few months prior and I was in a state of major depression: didn't want to get out of bed, had no desire to take care of myself, I just wanted to rot away and fade from existence. It was during the night that I saw this video pop up on my recommended feed, and I am so glad I clicked on it. This channel helped me get through one of the worst times of my life, and I am forever grateful for it. Queen Uniek is forever immortalized on the internet. Loved by many, she will never be forgotten.

She has no choice. She's being forced either way. Lots of editing. She definitely knows that's not her baby but she is doing the right thing. Almost all mammal mothers will take on an adopted child of they don't have theirs.

I bawled my eyes out when Uniek washed her dead baby. Then to see her accept the orphan just warmed my heart. Star is in heaven waiting for his monmy.

I was the same way. I was okay until I seen mom trying to wake him up, that brought tears to my eyes. I have a hobby farm and death is a fact of life, so I was caught by surprise when the tears started to flow 😥

@@vetpaula I agree she knows, but some animals are just more motherly. Idk how it's with horses, i do know fosters happen - but with cows there are always a few who try steal every calf they get their hooves on. I have one now (dairy farm so calves don't stay more than few days) so if cow that calved is hostile towards the calf, I'll bring the Grand Old Lady to babysit.

She really accepted him so fast 😭 she really wanted her baby and was just glad to have another chance. I've only ever seen a horse do happy feet like that when they're really excited!

Morgan-they found each other just in time and even though it was sad circumstances that brought them together, the end result was as perfect as could be hoped for.

Queen Uniek, you are so special and the only one, even we'd never met and I live on the other side of the world. After the news you passed away, I couldn't see any video you were and I feel my best friend left me forever. Now, I'm watching this video you and Risey's first meeting and also the first video i had seen you. you didn't know how thankful i was at that time. I don't want you to be remembered with sadness and tears. so this is my last time I'm crying. I'll always recall your kindness, mother who did your best to Risey, the dignity shown as a queen and sometimes your reaction for the yellow scoop etc.. @@sevynbones Her foster colt Rising Star is a two year old and has Wobblers and Yvonne is doing everything to help him. Our precious beloved Queen Uniek had a stomach rupture in April 2024 and it couldn’t be fixed of course so she was sadly mercifully had to be put to sleep. 😢😢 She was a very sweet extraordinary horse.

Uniek is a natural born mother. She is beautiful inside and out ❤

50 years ago or more, my mare had a stillborn. The trader said very rare for a mare to adopt a foal from another. He brought the filly over. We tied Smokey's halter to the rafter, had to tie up one of her hind legs, according to the horse trader and spray cologne on the filly rump and put some on Smokey's muzzle. After a few days, the two were inseparable. I'm glad to see, your success

Not all mares are willing to accept another foal.Just goes to show how special Uniek is!

I'm crying again. How beautiful. If you don't have horses, please know how special this really is. Not every mare will let a foal near her that isn't her own, let alone let them nurse. Queen Unique is truly a special mare.

Foals.calves/lambs are less picky than the mothers are.

My mare had twins and, as is so common with twins, they both died. I put the word out and before 24 hours passed, I had news of a foal who needed fostering. I took the mare there and my girl just said "a live one! For me? Thank you". She grew her adoptive baby into a fine young colt. It's amazing how strong their need to mother is.

Euh....Twins ? why continue the pregnancy? Twins is very dangerous for the mother. It is normal to terminate the pregnancy as soon as possible to save the mother ... for that also it is necessary to follow the gestation from the beginning... @Lana Rhodes I hate to say this, Lana, but I agree with you! I try very hard to keep in mind the GOOD in many many ppl. It does help me to do that! Ppl have turned away from God, and even though animals are not "supposed" to have souls, I feel animals, somehow, have GOD IN THEM. I think this video proves that! I truly love animals to the bottom of my soul. Try to see THE GOOD, Lana, focusing on it. The evil in this world comes from many turning FROM Our Creator. Jesus tells us we MUST pray for them....very difficult to do, but if we can change many, maybe the world will turn around. I do pray to "unmask the evildoers and bring them to justice, please, Lord." But then pray, "Please have the evildoers see the error of their ways!" One final thought.... "IF MY PEOPLE COME TO ME HUMBLY IN PRAYER AND TURN FROM THEIR WICKED WAYS I WILL HEAL THEIR LAND." ....frm The Good Book..... God Bless You and Yours, Lana! Looking back, Uniek and Rising Star were made to fullfill each other's void, so was Ziffora to take care of Star in Heaven, now? Now Uniek is with her babies and the Mom that gave her her earth's foal, both will take good care of the herd over there, yes, maybe Uniek left for a sickness, but it was her time. She filled al she needed to do in earth- she left Princess Belle to fill for her just in time, and Risey too, both carry her legacy and story, her kindness to accept Risey so soon despite the doubts due to her temperament, she pased Coralle the lead, and to Belle with her. Bet she'll be bossy just like Risey. Uniekje, Boss, Reindeer's boss, mem, Queen. Uniek is a simbol of strenght and love, hope that there's always a light at the end of the tunel. She brought a good amount of the human herd together with her lovely and sassy personality. Not any horse, no. Royal highness, Queen Uniek fan e' Goengamiëden, star that came from heaven to bring people together, make them happy, and help those in need of her, that now returns back in a great entrance proper of her, i'm sure. A queen that served many kings and queens, but another queen that specially needed her, Yvonne. My condolences to all those in her life, may your heavy mourning hearts find their peace. She lives, running happy in heaven, as she'll always do in our hearts. It's not a good bye, we'll see her again, and we keep seeing a part of her. The second worst situation every horse owner dreads: Losing the mare or the foal. Losing both the mare and foal is the absolute worst. It is so fortunate you were able to have something beautiful created from two tragedies.

Not all moms, unfortunately. You are very lucky to have had such a loving mother. I was an unexpected, unwanted and unloved child and, of course, it has colored my entire life. I often wish that she had just put me up for adoption so that a loving woman, someone who wanted to love and nurture me, could have raised me.

Uniek's little happy dance when she sees him makes me smile every time.

My mare died when her goal was 6 wks old I had saved a TB mare from slaughter and asked her to help the orphaned goal.the TB mare was 23 yrs old but overnight came into full milk she reared that foal without hesitating all on her own.Bleds her.ROMANTIC BLEND was her name.a True Miracle

This is the first time I've seen this video. Truly heartbreaking at first, but then when Uniek sees the foster foal she fell in love instantly. Hopefully she thinks that Star was just being cared for by the vet then returned. Either way this is so precious. Hope they are doing well!

Yvonne has no need to fake something or leave something out. It was as simple as she told us: They tried but couldn't find the afterbirth. After all they took the risk of introducing Rising Star as he was and it went well. That's wonderful and we are so happy about the story of Uniek and Rising Star!

I CRYED SO MUCH WHEN I WATCHED THIS VIDEO IT MUST BE SO HARD WHEN A HORSE LOSES IT ONLY BABY. I'M GLAD THAT THEIR WAS ANOTHER LITTLE FOAL FOR HER TO RAISE AS HER OWN.

That black horse is so beautiful 😍

They both somehow knew that they need each other. Her needs her milk and protection and she needs him to care for. And they both need each other to heal from the loses they had. Uniek really wants to be a mom.

Uniek and the other Friesians will also show him how to move like a dressage horse. Movement is part conformation, part instinctive and (interesting to this dog trainer) part learned. So if you have an orphaned Thoroughbred foal, ideal is to find a Thoroughbred foster mare so that the foal learns to move like a race horse. And if you have a warmblood/dressage horse, a Friesian is an ideal foster mother to teach him to move big, like a dressage horse. Training can shape movement but having the good fortunate of finding a foster mare who moves the way you want the foal to move lets the foal get a half step forward from the very beginning. So very many blessings from two tragedies.
