Oregon Overlanding - Exploring old canyon roads

Last year we stumbled across an amazing location in a canyon in Eastern Oregon. After researching with google earth we discovered an old road that lead to a homestead in the canyon. We returned and attempted to locate that old homestead. Jeep exploration - Dogs - rooftop tent camping - new friends.

Ordered another mic that should cut down the wind noise. Drone shots were pretty good but I used too dark of a filter so the colors weren’t very vibrant. Only way to learn is by doing! @@Beefy912 I was just down in the Virgin Valley a few weeks ago, as well as did a stop at Bog Hot springs. Bog is way too hot and open of an area to bother with in the summer. Save that for fall/winter when it's colder out. When you are down at Virgin Valley, take your rig and do a day trip up to Royale Peacock Opal mine, but go straight at their turn off (about 8 miles from the Virgin Valley campground. Just follow that trail up and to the right through Mud Spring Canyon. You'll pass right through the old homestead and can get pretty damn far up in the canyon for some great rock hunting if you are into that kind of thing. We made it about 3 miles up past the homestead and had to head back, as I got stung three times by a Nevada Bumblebee. Biggest bumblebee I've ever seen! Size of a man's thumb kind of big. He got caught up in my shirt sleeve and stung his way down my arm to my stomach where I smashed him on command. Good luck and have fun! If you need any more ideas of where to overland out there, gimme a holla.

Thanks Captain T! Really glad you enjoy it. It’s a work in progress and its been fun making these videos and I enjoy the engagement it brings. We use GMRS radios for comms. I run the Midland MXT40 base unit and a few Boefang handhelds. I generally run their stubby 3db antenna on the left side of the hood and I also have a longer 6db if I need extra range. We’ve had comps out to about 10 miles with the base units. I also have CB with a fire stick antenna but stopped using that a long time ago. Hope this helps!
