Ordination of Rev. Dn. Gheevarghese John to the Holy Priesthood.
His Grace Dr. Zacharios Mar Nicholovos has consented to ordain Rev. Dn. Gheevarghese John to the Holy Priesthood on March 26, 2011. The ordination took place at St Thomas Indian Orthodox Church, 1009 Unruh Ave, Philadelphia PA 19111.

Can anybody share the biblical / theological basis for the blessing of the robes/vestments ? I understand the laying of the hands I am wondering where the blessing of robes - moving the robes in shape of a cross -- originate from ?
