It's fascinating how much the skin changes, most of the time I barely feel it on and leave it on a bit long but occasionally I put it on and have to take it straight off again bc it burns, usually at change of season.

I have combo skin (not too oily tzone, rest is either dry or normal, depending on the season), and my skin loves the Niacinamide+Zinc. I put it all over, even the neck, (been using it for years), and it works well even on my dry areas. So I wouldn't limit that product for only oily skin. It really is individual, and I never had irritation from it. Never peels, and works well under other other products, and makeup.

I use a few The Ordinary products. I absolutely love the Azeliac acid cream, although the container is deceivingly large, and there isn’t much product in the container. But, it works really well, and I just love the way it feels on my face. I use a ton of actives on my face at night and in the morning, which can make my face really super shiny….so I put Azeliac acid on last, and it instantly cuts down that shine from all my other products I use. I use Revolution Niacinamide, and Vitamin C products. They seem to have higher concentrations than The Ordinary. I also use The Ordinary Alpha Arbutin, although I don’t really know if it’s working for me, or if it’s necessary to use with all my other products 😆🤷🏻‍♀️ But I guess I’ll continue to use it

And honestly I don’t like products that stop my skin from being its naturally oily self. I don’t like matte looking skin i feel its ages you. So I’m glad you explained the Nia+ zinc. Lop and also for the mustache I recommend plucking and bleaching the hair. Never had any problems with this method.

EGCG is quite nice. I did the overall face method and I will say, allow all your products to fully absorb as it can leave a residue (or just like a pasty or crusting of the product). I did notice a film-like effect after applying, so maybe mix it with something? Unsure why it was doing that as it was quite a new bottle, used it for a couple months! Didn't notice any irritation. :) also very cooling on the skin first thing in the morning. EGCG alone is also quite beneficial for so many other things on the skin! I believe it's something that you can actually get the highest concentration of by drinking green tea. I'm definitely one of those people that suffered irritation from niacinamide. I want to reintroduce it though :( so maybe a lower strength will work for me.

I *l0VE* how you go into detail to explain & describe what the products do, how they do it, who would & who would not benefit from each & every product depending upon what type of skin one has, or other reasons. You're the first I've seen who actually explains HOW a product works due to the ingredients (which is the only way I'll purchase a product) - I read every single ingredient, & where it is listed 'I've read that the order the ingredients are listed makes a difference- an ingredient listed at the top, according to what I've read in several different articles, the product contains more of it than an ingredient listed further down or last.' Is there any truth to this?¿ You are so good to explain how each ingredient works on your skin, which is, IMO, the most important fact one needs to know - well, I need to know. I want to know - because I'm sooooo analytical about everything 😆. Why would you even use something if you have no idea what it does for your skin, how it does what it does, & honestly tell you whether it would be good for your type of skin or not. Also, I am much more likely to purchase a skincare product if it is backed by a Dermatologist - an actual 'for real' dermatologist. Maybe I'm a bit picky about what I use; however, I have to KNOW as much as possible about something for which I'm paying money because I am so analytical and inquisitive?¿ But that's how God made me! I am aware I am a bit of a nerd/geek, as they say about analytical people. I'm an Accountant, I want to learn as much as possible about practically everything! I want you to know how impressed I am with your extraordinary knowledge of the science behind the make-up of a product, each & every ingredient in it, how much of the active ingredients & inactive ingredients in skin care products (and all products used in or on your body). I am much more intrigued, fascinated & passionate about skincare, haircare, and makeup, than Accounting! Wish I had put more thought into my major in undergrad AND my master's degree in graduate school! Maybe, just maybe, I could be doing what you're doing (not as well as you do, however, I'm certain) than the tedious, boring, easily burn-out progession called Accounting!!! Thank you so much! You're the best 👌💕😘♥️

I LOVE their Resveratrol 3% Ferulic Acid 3% and I’ve stored up on them. I also love their peptide serums and there’s two of them that I use religiously and I mix them. I use the Granactive Retinoid 2% emulsion together with another brand retionic acid/retinal. I often use it with a moisturizer or a night cream with retinyl palmitate and/or bakuchiol and peptides. I use retinols more or less every night and I have The Ordinary’s Granactive Retinoid to thank and praise because it helped me to get used to retinoids without too much redness and irritation. I had a very mild and minimal “retinoization” period. I no longer use the AHA 30% & BHA 2% because I’ve found better alternatives. I never had it on my face for more than five minutes anyway. I don’t use the niacinamide from The Ordinary because there’s better serums with niacinamide and I prefer the Zink pca serum with mushrooms from Q+A. I can recommend the niacinamide from The Inkey List. But!! I love The Ordinary’s Salicylic Axid Anhydrous Solutions and I love using it at my “oil nights” (together with Revolution Skincare Concentration nighttime facial oil - it’s a dupe for the Kiel’s blue bottled nighttime concentration). I also love to use it in my facials and treatments that I do at home 🥰 just like I love using my The Ordinary favourite Resveratrol and Ferulic Acid. The two The Ordinary products that I can recommend, from my heart, are the Resveratrol 3% & Ferulic Acid 3% and the Salicylic Acid 2% Anhydrous Solution. It will be under $20 for grade A ingredients in a really good concentration. You will be able to give yourself so many nice and top notch facials in the comfort of your own home. Perfect to use with a gua sha or, even better, your fingertips! Take care and have fun! ✌️😽💋 Happy Easter 💗🐣💗 PS: I put pumps on my Granactive Retinoid and my Resveratrol & Ferulic Acid. And that’s because antioxidants as well as retinol should come in contact with oxygen as little as possible. I’ve saved pumps from other serums (primarily from vitamin C serums). I just thought it could be a good and useful advice 😊

I must have sturdier skin than I ever realized. I also looove the niacinamide, as well as the BHA peel. My skin also responds well to their rose hip seed oil. But I’m still struggling with hormonal acne every month. In between periods, my skin honestly is looking pretty darn good. But then the PMS comes along, and I’m hit with multiple big, often cystic, pimples on my jaw, cheeks, neck, chest, and back. Is there ANYTHING topical for this issue?

Cassandra you have helped me so much! I have purchased a few products you have recommended from ordinary but also pyunkang yul, my face is so vibrant these days. I also use some differin and tretinoin gel, i used to have really stubborn acne that were like hard little gritfrains under the skin, they would not heal off and as soon i i touched them they would inflame and just ruin everything again. I still have the same pimples since 8months but since i started using the product no production of new ones. I still dont know how to extract that little grainthingbinside pore and i learned acnetoilette at cosmeticschool. Its just not working. If i open pore up i can see the white dot, but id just is stuck in there. Eighter way, skincare is something i now care deeply about. Also im usuing spf now, i never knew how important it was until i say your video on spfs. Thank you ❤ it means alot

Been using the niacinamide + zinc, after the hyaluronic serum + B5 in the morning everyday and using the retinol 2% emulsion every night, for the past 3 months and it has changed my life ! Thank you so much 💙 I have the AHA/BHA one but I’m waiting for a night when I can use it, knowing I won’t go out the next day (I have an acid neutralized, no worries ;) I’m so sad that the caffeine solution 5% + EGCG didn’t work for my under eyes :/

My skin is mixte but before this routine and my spf/moisturizer from Paula’s choice, my T-Zone was dry. I was so annoyed and desperate. Another good product that at first made me breakout (smaaaall white heads on the nose aka purging phase) but then became my night essential is: ceramide night treatment by the inkey list 💙💙 Also, update on my routine, I use the haruharu wonder toner (recommended by Cassandra) before my morning and night skin care. I usually don’t like toner cause they’re kinda useless but this one is fermented rice ! I loved after the first use. I also use the buffet after my retinol 2% emulsion. I love it but I wanna try to replace it by the combo “botox” which is matrixyl and argireline !! Can’t wait !!

In the Netherlands we can buy 50% aha with 50% bha peeling for at home for a good price. We have many different peelings with a high percentage over the counter. 🙂 Do you also know the Meditopics brand, made by skin specialists? I love their 2% salicylic acid foam, fun to use and moisturizing (leave on product, not a face wash) and their 1% retinol cream. 😊
