Georgia didn't score until there were less than 5 minutes left in the first. They then scored 42 in the next 20 minutes of play time. Simply incredible.

I will say this much. I really like Kirby Smart and what he said after the game. This opting out for the portal, something has to be fixed about it. It's destroying college football and the entire bowl season. Instead of getting to see a great game, this is what we got. I honestly believe Georgia is still one of the best four teams in the Country.

That’s ridiculous, UGA choked the SEC championship game so they didn’t want to end on a sour note and wanted to redeem themselves with this game. FSU did everything correct, won every game - went 13-0 , and was snubbed of the college playoffs. They didn’t care for this match because they know they shouldn’t have been put at this level of play. Opting out is the only way to make it shown to the committee that they won’t be fucked over any more

@@capfc1294 Wow! They really showed them huh? I’m sure it taught that committee a valuable lesson. Only thing they showed is when things don’t go their way they quit. Reality is I think they still would’ve lost even with all their players. I wouldn’t necessarily consider UGA losing by 3 to a team likely to win it all as choking. Especially when you consider the performance FSU displayed against Louisville who then got dismantled by an unranked USC. Go into work next week and ask for a raise, when they don’t give you one just quit and see if they call you and beg you to come back and offer you that raise. I’m not a UGA fan, just a CFB fan pointing out that IMO it shows a lack of character to bail on your team. Think them playing and winning would’ve been more of a statement than them sitting out and getting absolutely embarrassed. Sorry your feelings are still hurt brotha! 🙏🏻

Proud of my Dawgs. Excellent victory to finished the season. Stockton could be the next Stetson Bennett

Epic beatdown. FSU drew the wrong bowl invitation pairing up with the Dawgs. The Dawgs had a lapse in 2019 Sugar Bowl after a disappointing playoff snub but Kirby learned from that situation and is one of the best motivators in the game. FSU made the committee look right to some degree although UGA should have gotten in over Texas if you want the best 4 teams.

The second half was The Dawgs first game of next season. Robinson was impressive. It's great to be a Georgia Dawg!

Kirby Smart said it right. College football is going to have to figure out what to do to enable teams to have their full arsenal for bowl games to make them more interesting. If 23 fsu players didn't opt out, the stadium would've been 100% full. No one wants to watch backups play in a new years 6 bowl game. Bowls have to be loosing tons of money due to players opting out. I'm so thankful Bo Nix didn't opt out of the Fiesta bowl. I want to see how Liberty matches up with a relevant power 5 team.

As an FSU fan, after JT went down. I knew even if we had won out we weren't going in. I also knew that even with JT we may not make it out of that frist playoff game 😂 I'm a realist. We struggled against teams we should have this year... all the ones that stated all that mess are delusional fans and no they are not the majority of our fan base. 28 starters out... the blame is on the coach and the culture he allows. GA stayed together after being kept out of the playoffs because they are a family. We still would have lost by a minimum of 21 had all star our players been on the field. Had JT not been injured... who knows how the season could have ended.

Here is the issue. After a loss.. a team must drop. Let's be fair. There was a year when Both, SEC champion and runner up went to the playoffs. This year it didn't happen. You can't have the #1 lose to a non top 2-4 team And that team stays in the top 4. #1 v #2.. fine. But bama was #8. At best, UGA should have been #5.

How did everyone NOT see this result coming? FSU has been saying since the Selection show, what does it matter? 13-0, undefeated conference champ, left out of the playoff because of one player being injured, rendering the regular season pointless. They were NOT motivated for this game. I'm surprised it wasn't worse.

I remember when these teams use to take pride in winning bowl games. Now they cry about everything and refuse to represent their team in the bowl game

Opt-outs and transfers are ruining bowl season. I understand star players not wanting to jeopardize their futures, but the fact remains that this bowl season has had more lopsided games due to any missing players than ever before. As a fan of the game, it sucks.

Agreed. The NFL needs to put in some time of mitigation to prevent this. Maybe any starting player opting out of a bowl game heading to the draft is added to the supplemental or 7 round. If they are out of the big money they may stay and make an effort.

I think there needs to be a stipulation in both NIL and Coach's contracts that state you must play through a bowl game should the team make a conference championship/bowl game.

There’s no such thing as complaining when the conglomerate is falsely represented as a meritocracy for over 5 decades. One was rightfully dethroned by losing to Alabama and fsu still had one of if not the best defense in the country. You’re misrepresenting the story. A part of the misinformation problem, an educated base is a powerful one. Especially when dealing with a corrupt monopoly like college football.

FSU took the opportunity to show everyone even the committee they made the wrong decision but instead they decided not to play and lost terribly reinforcing everyones thoughts about leaving them out the playoff

The committee got it right and wrong. Florida State didn’t prove to be in the top 4, Georgia did. Georgia proved the committee wrong in the brutally aggressive way ever in this game. At the conference after the game the only time Kirby Smart said after being out of the top 4 was “fix it”.

As an FSU fan I couldn't agree more... Norvell doesn't have the right culture built like Smart does. His eligible players chose to stay and play for their teammates. They did what is right, not what is easy. We still would have lost this game by a minimum of 21 even with all the 28 starters that didn't play 😅

Georgia absolutely blew out Florida State earlier today, proving once again that the SEC is again the dominant conference and that FSU did not belong in the playoff. The craziest part about the one-sided game is the fact that Georgia did not run up the score on FSU. Carson Beck didn’t even touch the football after the first half while the 3rd string QB finished the game. In other words, Georgia could have beat FSU even without their starters, debunking the claim that FSU only lost because many of their starters were injured or entered the transfer portal. So the 2023 College Football Playoff Selection Committee made the right decision by including Alabama, which beat Georgia in the SEC Championship game while not including FSU.

I still remember last year's #5 team showing up at the Sugar Bowl with Bryce Young, Jamyr Gibbs, Will Anderson Jr and other NFL caliber players beating the snot out of Kansas State. @@zacharyradford5552 The craziest part about the one-sided game is the fact that Georgia did not run up the score on FSU. Carson Beck didn’t even touch the football after the first half while the 3rd string QB finished the game. In other words, Georgia could have beat FSU even without their starters, debunking the claim that FSU only lost because many of their starters were injured or entered the transfer portal. So the 2023 College Football Playoff Selection Committee made the right decision by including Alabama, which beat Georgia in the SEC Championship game while not including FSU.

Georgia beat FSU so bad Kirby jasked his assistants if any of their kids wanted to play quarterback for a little bit.

Georgia had a better case to be in the playoff than FSU. FSU playing Georgias schedule is a 3 loss team.
