I've been on finasteride 2.5mg for almost 2 months and wondering how long to take that dose before going up to 5mg (if that's even needed). No results yet except for a random 2-day shed at the 2-week mark 😬 but had early side effects that faded so don't want to go up unless it's needed. Thanks!

Finasteride takes 6-12 months to help. I generally have our patients wait 6 months before increasing the dose from 2.5 to 5.0mg. As always make sure to discuss your plan with your hair loss specialist.
I am losing my eyebrows and eyelashes from Lichen Planopilaris. What about microblading?I do have Roceasa so would that be bad for my skin?

@carmenwilley8858 - Microblading is an excellent solution and often works well. It is typically okay with rosacea, but you should check with your dermatologist.
Hi, Thank you for these videos! I have had a tingly sort of feeling on my scalp that kinda comes and goes. Inflammation has been ruled out through genetic testing. Most likely androgenetic. I have been on oral minoxidil for almost 4 months now with no improvement yet… still hopeful! My question is if it is possible to feel hair loss and hair growth?

@jeffevieramsey3499 Tingling is usually from inflammation. We don't feel hair grow or fall out. Inflammation is not ruled out by genetic testing but rather by examining the scalp.
Rogaine worked for me until I became allergic to the formulation---probably the carrier
Does Medicare help with any hair loss?
Dr. I have been using topical Minoxidil and it has been causing me eye problems. Is this normal?

@alajandrajuarez6156 - Never heard of any eye problems from minoxidil. Go to your ophthalmologist.

@@meditresse . I did. I stopped using it and the irritation stoped. Now I am trying the pills instead.
In the other video you said that women who have had breast cancer should NOT use Finasteride?

Asbolutely do not use finasteride with a history of breast cancer.
Oral minoxidil is disgusting. Made me shed even worse for 3 months, never helped at all. Stopped it completely. Topical still works better.
Is it ok for breastfeeding mothers to take these medications

No, we would not recommend these medications for those that are breastfeeding.
Ugh refusing to prescribe medication to women because they are at child baring age is so backward. Im a young women and I take isotretinion and finasteride and it has been very successful. I source the medication myself as my doctor refused to prescribe it. I don’t want kids. If I do I will stop using the medication and get pregnant when it is safe
