Yup, he does have fans like that, only - not in that crowd there. It's his first performance at the Chinese "I'm singer" show, he is the only non-Chinese singer in that contest, a 'wild card', so the audience has no idea who he is. But, he was announced as the youngest ever contestant (was 22 at the time), and that he will sing one of the 5 most difficult songs in French, and that is why they cheer for him in advance, to encourage him, which was very nice of them.

I have watched literally hundreds of Dimash reactions since this performance was released. It’s like an addiction I keep going back to, reliving an incredible moment through someone else’s ears and eyes. I’ve discovered many good reactions from vocal coaches and musicians and slogged through some truly awful ones by people who think they know something about music- but clearly don’t. Doesn’t matter, I still get a thrill. But today I feel like I won the lottery! Never have I ever come across a reaction and analysis this good! Your ability to hear the notes and explain Dimash’s vocal dynamics in such an understandable way is just beyond amazing. And your voice! This is pure gold to me! So glad the algorithm finally led me to your channel.

Dimash has studied music since age 5, he has been obsessed with music all his life. He does sing all genres and was invited to song with the opera house in his country and he declined. He said he wanted to go his own way including mixing all genres, which he is doing now. His parents are also musicians and he used to go to the stage and take a bow with them even when he was very young....he has always been comfortable on the stage. PLEASE keep reacting to Dimash. I have been listening to Dimash for a while, and love to watch “Reactors” when they encounter his pure talent for the first time. There are a number of “voice coaches” I have watched too; but as we know, this is the internet, anyone can say they are whatever they want themselves to be and few question it. Often, these so called teachers are clearly not who they claim to be, and that is obvious immediately you listen to their dialogue. It is therefore so incredibly refreshing to listen to you. You are clearly knowledgeable about music and the singing art. I have watched your analysis of Dimash’s songs, and you have delivered to me, who was already a Dimash fan, an insight into his music and talent which I have not discovered or learned anywhere else, and for that I’m truly grateful. You are proof that there is talent out there on the Web, and if Dimash is being reviewed, his mastery deserves similarly masterly analysis. You provide that, and I have watched your “lessons of excellence” repeatedly. In the transient World of KZread, where things are seen once and soon forgotten, your videos are a go to, to learn and fully appreciate the singing art. I thank you deeply for your conveying your knowledge in a digestible way, and enhanced my own awareness of singing and the music behind it. I have pleasure in subscribing to your channel, and whilst I will watch your other artist video reaction, look forward to your Dimash reviews… one in particular I will look forward to on your Dimash journey is “Sinful Passion”, the final run, on one breath, will have you gasping for air yourself, as it did and does to all fans (or “Dears”!)

I'm sorry to say that but his mispronunciation was not due to his nervousness, he was just ill-prepared for this performance : In this version not only did he pronounce 3 silent "s", he also repeated many lines as you can see from the subtitles that he isn't actually singing the entire song but only a repeated part of it. However, he made another version of this song later which is stunningly perfect : No mispronunciation, no repeated line and almost no accent. Incredible.

hey ! that song is called "S.O.S d'un terrien en detresse" . it was written by Daniel Balavoine (french singer ) at the time of the screening of that show Dimash actually learned the song by sound alone without any help on the pronunciation, reason why his lyrics are not correct (he's got it perfected today). this particular song is notoriously one of the Hardest french song to sing due to the vocal range changing constantly throughout the whole song . what he does (the range drop ) is actually how the song is supposed to be sung, it's not just to impress. as a french i can say this clearly .....he nailed it !

For those who want more info: Daniel Balavoine, singer and writer of the song, was 🇫🇷 genius of music and an excellent singer who died very young. He has other excellent songs. The song is made for the vocal range of Daniel. He was passionate about humanitarian associations in Africa and before he died, he was in Africa for an association. He got invited to watch the Paris Dakar competition. On his way to watch the competition, the helicopter had an accident in Mali where he, along with the director of the Paris Dakar contest, 2 journalists and the pilot died. There are still questions about this accident. He died very young, and was very missed by the public and never got to begin the English career he wanted (he was planning to form a group in London). His friend Michel Berger (another French singer who died very young not very long after him) wrote a song for him : Évidemment, singed by France Gall , his wife. A very popular song in France as well.

Thank you - a great reaction/analysis. This was Dimash some four years ago now (aged 22). He comes from a musical family in Kazakhstan and at the age of 5 it was discovered that he had perfect pitch. He cannot remember not wanting to be a singer. He has studied music all his life and has had the best vocal coaches (particularly Marat Aitimov who is a genius and trained Dimash’s mother in operatic singing). Dimash sang soprano in a choir until his mid teens as he was better than the girls 🤣. He went to university and everyone expected him to study opera (he was offered a place in the Astana Opera) but instead he chose to study ‘contemporary music’ for his undergraduate degree, he then went on to study for his Masters in ‘Composition’ gaining 100% and has now just embarked on his doctorate in ‘Musicology’. He is very intelligent, has studied hard and is a musician to his core. Alongside that, he is an incredibly humble, spiritual young man who you will discover sings with his whole body drawing you in to the emotions of a song - they often have very moving backstories. Thank you again 🙏🏼 Plymouth UK 🇬🇧

Dimash is the only human being I have ever heard that can hit a D8. He actually sings higher than the sound of an eagle. You almost can't even hear it. If I'm not mistaken, the D8 is one of the highest notes the human ear can register. Anything higher than that is a dog whistle that we can't hear. Simply amazing.

  • @paulstelian97

    @paulstelian97

    10 ай бұрын

D8 is apparently just shy of 5000 Hz, the peak limit for a teenager's hearing is around 20000 Hz (around D#10), a more conservative limit is around 17000 Hz (D10) or even 14000 Hz (A9) although that is a pretty low limit for those with no hearing damage. D8 is impressive as fuck to produce from a human vocal tract (even D7, at the bottom of the 7th octave, is impressive for FEMALE singers, of which there's maybe two or three who have succeeded, e.g. Celine Dion, let alone male singers). Not to detract from the fact that he's basically an alien, but if his highest note is out of your hearing range you do need to consider paying a visit to the hearing doctor for an audiogram.

He's been classically trained since age 5, degrees in folk and pop music and a masters in composition. He's performed in over a dozen languages, but is Kazakh, has native fluency in Russian and now can speak a bit of Chinese and English, which he couldn't four years ago when this was filmed. At the time he was not well known outside of Kazakhstan. He also plays piano, guitar, drums, and lots and lots of folk instruments. On stage he's gone from C2 to D8. Even more impressive, he's a genuinely nice guy and just barely starting to become well known on a larger scale. Can't wait until the next time he comes to North America. This song, cover of a French pop song as I'm sure you know, was kind of his introduction to the larger world audience, but frankly isn't one of his more impressive performances.

He the first born male child from Kazakhstan & in that Country, the first born is raised by the Grandmother. His mother is an Opera Singer and his father is a well known singer. He was classically trained from the age of five to approx. the age of 17. He has perfect pitch, tons of talent and is a perfectionist. He was trained through the voice change of boys to men and kept his soprano range. He is still in his mid twenties, has a six octave range and has the best control over his instrument I have heard in my lifetime. I am aware that there is some difference of opinion with respect to "head voice & falsetto". In his case it doesn't matter because he has both and .his transitions are seamless. Jim Kelly

Although he had displayed a fair amount of his sound qualities, you haven't heard them all. A good song to continue is Sinful Passion a spectacular where he shows more of his lower register, puts in a central Asian singing technique, and ends with a 23-second-long phrase that includes slides, crazy high mix, a key change, and RnB-type runs. Does that trigger your interest?

Dimash is the best singer in the WORLD and there are no doubts about that, his voice is a prodigy of nature and a genetic marvel since his parents are two glories of singing from Kazakhstan since he was 5 years old, he sings publicly and has more than twenty years of lyrical training and graduated from the university of music, he is a singer, composer, arranger and multi instrumentalist, he plays more than seven musical instruments and sings in more than nine languages, he is also a great performer and a great artist who lives and feels music He is not an imitator of voices , Dimash has his own style and is one of the forerunners of the "Popera" he also has a very pleasant, Humble and simple personality, easy access, which makes it very easy to follow, he always travels with His family and friends is a very educated person and an example to follow, he has become known for his musical talent not for getting into trouble or scandals, he is a singer with a wide vocal range very versatile is Baritone, Tenor, Soprano, against Tenor, mezasoprano, everything at the same time is how to have 5 singers in one, it has a male and female voice, also many resources such as vibrato, "melismas", falsetto, Staccato, whistle tone, reaching a D8 live at the concert of Gakku in an unforgettable day, at his young age he continues to improve and grow musically to perfection, he has a good physical presence he measures 191 cm or 6 "3", he is very famous and recognized in Asia and now he is becoming known In Europe and America, ALL their songs are spectacular, it always goes from low to high, soft to spectacular at the end, in my almost half a century of life I never heard so much quality and it is the hope of continuity of the classical genre because all the old tenors have already Almost all of them died and Dimash can sing like them but none of them can sing like Dimash, being a Man he sings better than any Tenor and his female voice is superior to that of any average Soprano, greetings and a hug from Venezuela🇻🇪, "Dears" Forever ❤️👍🏻 Sorry for copying and pasting my informative comment in ALL the Video reactions to Dimash what I see but I do it with the intention of sharing information about him and what I think that in the music industry there are many artists who have been successful and have no talent and are bad people and they do not set a good example for the youth, Dimash and his music deserve to triumph in America, Europe and the whole WORLD, do you want to have already read my comment please come by without problem there is always someone who for the first time knows this information and I won't get tired of sharing it with all my friends. @@jessicasopranonotes finally a legitimately competent analysis of dimash. it was fun to see as you went from full analytic mode by the end to just fuck it, just enjoy the ride. i showed dimash to one of my opera singer friends, and his reaction was, i don't want to hear it, this guy has vocal cords made of jello. he said dimash literally has no vocal limitations.

Yaaaas I've never been so fast! What a great and informative analysis! Dimash has been classically trained since he was 5. He sings in so many languages and his French has gotten much better along with his English as well. Please react to Sinful Passion next for even more inhuman breath control! Or Ogni Pietra for a mind blowing fully operatic performance on his channel! Btw he's got a range of seven octaves I believe (that we know of)

@@jessicasopranonotes It's a really good idea to go in order of the performances. Most people recommend newer songs like "Sinful Passion" next, but if you follow the 2017 "Singer" show (this here was his first performance there) you'll see quite a cool mix of styles and entertainment values - AND you'll see him grow, because believe me, he gets even better! Next would be "Opera 2" (original by Vitas), no opera, but fun and flirty. Treat yourself to the "full version" with a tiny bit of after-show events, it shows his personality. His dad was in the audience and surprised him, Dimash later said if he had known his Dad was there he wouldn't have been so flirty ^^: kzread.info/dash/bejne/moSep7eogMqTkco.html Episode 3 is "The show must go on" by Queen - dimashified ;) (His English is not good there, he learned the song phonetically in one week, at that moment he didn't speak any English.): kzread.info/dash/bejne/p6BnzdJ-YdTJn9o.html For episodes 4 "Late Autumn / Autumn Strong", 7 ("Daididau") and 8 ("Daybreak") make sure you know the backstory - either through Google or watch the backstory on Gloria Wu's channel, she has English subs and backstory. The songs are slightly modified to avoid copyright, so you might check them in their original version on another channel. Looking forward to more Dimash reactions and analyses, that was excellent, thank you!

Hello Jess. Welcome to the world of Dimash, the greatest singer on the planet. Your analysis seemed excellent, very enriching for me. I allow myself to recommend you Sinful Passion, great, without words; Your love, an intensity show, an interpretation masterclass; Love is like a dream, a beautiful and emotional song (until tears). Ti amo cosi, a beautiful trio, and Ulisse, a beautiful duo, both operatic. Mademoiselle Hyde, an enveloping dream. And Samaltau (Tokyo Jazz) very, very emotional folk song. And I highly recommend you Olimpico (Ogni Pietra), also operatic and my favorite, tremendously powerful; and I recommend the fancam version, where his dramatic performance is closely seen (the fancam does not have optimal sound but there is a version of it that mixes the image with the right sound). There are many more, but these are to get you started. I recommend you to see a translation of the lyrics in each one so you can appreciate how accurate each interpretation is. Regards from Argentine, Máximo

Welcome to the wonderful world of Dimash! You are a phenomenal voice analyzer. There are a handful of you out there that react to Dimash where you can tell that you really are extremely skilled at your craft and I wanted to let you know that I really appreciate that and have a high regard for it. It's funny that you did not hear of Dimash until now so welcome to the show he is going to blow you away consistently It doesn't matter what live performance you choose on KZread you're going to be blown away not only by his singing but why he chooses the type of songs he sings they're very meaningful and deep he has a great sense of pride for his country and for the people who have touched him in his life and he plays tribute to these people in such a beautiful way. You're an opera singer so you probably can't even believe what comes out of his body but it is truly divine a very rare occurrence that we hear a man sing with this vocal range with complete engagement of emotion. But since you are an opera singer I think probably your next reaction should be to Ogni Pietra I subscribed and I'm going to keep looking for you to share your journey with Dimash.

It was so awesome to discover you. It takes someone with deep voice knowledge to truly appreciate what Dimash can do. This was 3 years ago when his French and English pronounciations were not that good. Please take a look at the same song just one year later. You'll be shocked at the improvement of both his pronounciation and voice (!!??). I think you can already tell from this one video how he can use his voice to sing pop, rock, opera, Popera (pop/opera), and pretty much whatever he wants. His continuous development is amazing and now he's improving his dance and rap! LOL! Oh, and he sings in 12 languages and plays different instruments. I envy your Dimash discovery journey.

This guy is MADE of Music. Genre has no meaning for him, nor does language. He's the Emperor. The competition in 2017 was the first to have a foreigner in the mix. Dimash was the only foreigner, the wild card and the youngest person in the competition. This is the performance that opened that show AND the season for the show that year. Just imagine having to follow this act... Almost everybody was completely surprised with this (besides the talent scout who convinced him to fly to China). That night he went viral in and around China so he was famous before he landed back in Kazakhstan, a literal overnight sensation. And of course, it has not stopped since. At the time of this filming, Dimash didn't actually speak French at all. He had the lyrics translated so he knew what the song was about, he had some pronunciation tutorial or other and he had it phonetically spelled out for him on the teleprompter (plus a certain amount of memorization from listening to the original version many times), but he did not have the entire language under his belt. As you may know already, many French people are like rabid dogs jealously guarding their language and they love to jump on people who don't speak it or sing it PERFECTLY right out of the birth canal. Some of them jumped on Dimash via the internet over this performance. They were very quickly jumped on in return by A BILLION Chinese people who didn't care so much about his language skills nearly as much as they cared about his ability to evoke emotion through his sound. As for that twelve-note change at the beginning of the song, he took a breath and reset. He did not slide downward (but I have no doubt at all that he COULD have if he wanted to). Hey, I love your reaction videos for the way you break down the technical stuff! With this video, you're actually teaching a class on How To Cross Genres While Singing. I think you would make an AWESOME teacher, by the way. :)

Hello and thank you,Jess.I'm just a layman and ordinary listener of music, and wish to tell you that I really appreciate your reaction to and analysis of Dimash's singing the song S.O.S. To me his voice is heavenly and vocal ability is superb.Singing in French is rather hard for Dimash who usually speaks his own Kazakh language and Russian. However he later improved his pronunciation. So I must say that now I'm sort of getting addicted to hearing and watching Dimash sing.He is really captivating the hearts of more and more listeners in this world through his fascinating voice.❤❤😅❤❤
