Love this version and the original, great songs. The gold is a reference to Dolores' outfit in the original song. Bad Wolves changed the lyrics slightly to expand the theme to cover various conflicts around the world, but the original was written for the Troubles primarily and if you want to see how much it means to the Irish people look up the video of Aisling Daly walking out to the song for her UFC Dublin fight, the whole crowd joins in.

Honestly. that has to be one of the most epic drops I've heard experienced before a chorus. This and Disturbed's Sound of Silence are the holy grails of covers. I'll even throw Simple Man by Shinedown in there.

I'm a 37 year old guy who grew up in the 90s listening to the cranberries and this video brings a tear to my eye every time I watch it. They did an amazing job with the song but nothing will ever top Delores' haunting vocals.

I saw these guys at a festival right at their peak after this song was released. He yelled for everyone to sing along with him, he said he wanted to sing it so loud that Deloris could hear us in heaven. I’ve never heard 50,000 people sing at the same time before. Still gives me goose bumps to this day. AMAZING

The original can always bring a little tear to my eyes. its so beautiful and powerful.. This cover makes me cry.. So intense! and in the memory of Dolores.. A perfect cover..

i think the glaass is symbolic of her death, shes there in this song but not touchable. i missed the date on the glass. thats a bigger indicator of this, the glass is a barrier between her and the song

This is an absolutely stunning cover and my favourite version of the song. That said, you need... NEEEEEEED... to check out the original. The emotion behind it and the video highlighting the troubles in Ireland (and the subsequent repercussions across Great Britain) is not only a fantastic song but a moment in time

The metal fan in me really enjoys this version of the song. The bass player in me loves the original because the bassline carries the entire song in that version. . . . I would recommend, to the extent possible, listening to the original version of any song before a cover.

This is a phenomenal cover of am iconic song. Bad Wolves is a great band, I highly recommend checking out "Remember When" for some insight on Tommy's past. I'd also recommend checking out Bad Wolves' collab with Diamante, "Do You Hear Me Now".

First time seeing your channel, and I love the way you do everything. You get original reactions, you get post production comments on what the reaction was about etc... Excellent...this is literally something I want to see going forward in many other reaction videos.

I'm originally from Ireland like band is and I loved and still love her keening within the notes of her singing. I urge you to listen and watch the Original Zombie Video. @@maggiereneemusic full transparency I don’t follow the channel super closely so hopefully I’m not mentioning this after you’ve gone back and checked it out again, but just wanted to mention that this video has tons of stuff you may have missed that are very easy to do so without having seen the cranberries video as well as just watching this video multiple times through. With context from the original video and a bit more focus on the visuals and choices made in production this video hits that much harder. Great song. Great reaction. Rewatched several times. Keep on keepin on girl.

This is an amazing cover another one that comes to mind if you haven't heard it yet is simple man by a Leonard skinnered covered by Shinedown or bad company covered by 5 finger death punch

There are 2 videos that always, always tug at my heartstrings when I see them. This, and as soon as I see the opening text I get hit and Heart doing Stairway to Heaven at the Kennedy Center. The symbiology in this version is amazing. The tribute to Delores and the original video with a model in gold paint BUT with the plexiglass in-between her and the band as a reference to Delores passing away...yeah

This cover gives me chills in a good way .. loved the original when I was in high school .., amazing cover

Tommy is amazing. He was basically kicked out of Bad Wolves because the band didn't agree with him politically and told him to either shut up or pack up... He filed a lawsuit against the label, band, manager... But Honestly he is so much better off without them. He's amazing.

There’s no way in heaven you can say this is the best Version Of the song Delores is Devine in that vocal period.

The woman in gold paint is an homage to the original video from the cranberries where Dolores was painted gold like that. It's great that they did that

Definitely do the original video next. It really puts a point on this video when you've seen both, and brings out some of the background, melancholy shape in both videos. Just my 2 cents :)

When it was first released by the Cranberries, my children were the same age as the children that were killed, Ireland has been at war within for a long time, it took children being killed to shock the masses out of the rut, I bawled every time I heard it. Tommy's version is deeply moving, but in a different way, I think his version is actually a more powerful version, but no longer focused on one event.

The best way I've heard it expressed is by some other comment in another reaction. The Cranberries' version is the mother's lament and Bad Wolves is the father's. It's got a feminine/masculine dynamic to it. Great companion pieces to each other.

As ava the girl in the video walked out, Tommy and the band members were shocked by how she looked liked Dolores. He last name is pronounced Rear done ,the cranberries received a lot of grief for releasing this song, it was about two kids killed in a bombing in England during the troubles which was a 30 plus years of fighting by the IRA against the loyalists and British army in northern Ireland it was a bloody conflict which killed thousands and injured thousands more

I saw them live a few months after she passed, they played this song and they were amazing!

To say that they did Justice to this is a Total Understatement

This song is special to me...now and forever. On June 24, 2018, my son passed away from alcoholism. I, myself, am an alcoholic. I couldnt help my son beat this deadly disease. From the time he was in the hospital to the day we buried him, i didnt listen to any music. After leaving his grave, i turned on the radio and this song started playing, forever cementing the memory in my memory. I love this song. Thanks for the reaction Maggeie Renee. 😪❤

Love your ad lib gif's, pretty much was exactly how I reacted for my 1st through 20th listen 😂

Had the privilege to see them perform live in Chattanooga when they were on tour with five finger death punch. The lead singer had his arm in a sling and still had the best stage presence of the entire concert. The bad wolves truly are too underrated

Thanks for reacting to this. I almost went to a Cranberries concert in the Netherlands. But that was cancelled because the singer was ill. And after that I somehow never tried going again. Never heard this cover before and it was indeed very well done. Greetings from the Netherlands.

The band had gotten to know Delores and become friends with her before they were set to record. They went on to record without her, sometimes biting back tears. So the agony you hear in the song is fueled by real grief. Especially since Delores' death was so senseless.

This is going to be epic... in your head, in your heeeeeaad...!!!

Absolute" " STOMP and RIP ""metal version of song that TBH in the 90s I sadly didn't listen to very often. This I could put on loop and just go. There's an anger there that you pick up on aimed at the subject of they lyrics ..well done. I had the same reaction first time I heard it. Chorus dropped, I backed it up and cranked it

I love the visual callback to the original video by The Cranberries in this one. Very powerful.

The original video for this can be hard to watch for some people but dolores voice really drives the point home.

Love this cover.

I honestly can not separate this version and the original as to which one is my favourite. I love the Metal version this one gives, but Dolores had some vulnerability in her voice which added to the lyrics and her voice when she does that yodel/vocal crack is amazing

Yes the Golden girl is supposed to be Delores. She's telling them that she's there with them but they can't get to each other. That's what the glass represents.

I know I'm 1 year too late on this one but YES !! When this dropped I listened to it on repeat, over and over! It STILL gives me chills to this day. I liked it so much I wanted to hear a live version of the song and sadly... it was really bad. The lead singer must have been sick, or maybe his ear piece wasn't working... but he did not sound the same at all.😢😢

To understand the meaning the original is at heart of both versions

I wish you saw the original first. Its more impactful when you understand where it came from. The original means a lot too when you understand the issues in Northern Ireland.

Idk if you heard the reference to the drones in the second verse, but they updated the lyrics slightly so it’s referencing the war in Iraq and Afghanistan in addition to the original version of the song. A reminder that war is never ending.

When this song was released my first reaction (before even hearing it) was how f'n dare you? Then I finally (after a long time of protest) heard it and damn they did it the justice it deserves. I hope someone explained that the gold lady is homage to Doloris. You should watch the Cranberries original video. Then it would totally make sense and be more touching.

Watching the original version with The Cranberries the girl in gold will all make sense. This was a first rate tribute to that group and Dolores will be missed.
