That moment when you realize that when she finally completely covers the glass with gold, she has passed all the way to the "other side." And when he tries to touch her hand through that glass he cant because she's gone forever. Very powerful. Very moving. One of the saddest things I've ever seen in a music video

Hey just a fyi Dolores actually heard the demo of this song by Bad Wolves and loved what they did so much that she wanted to actually be part of it and of course Bad Wolves were more than floored and honored that she did. She flew to the location the day before she was to record her vocals and unfortunately passed away that early morning. So sad but it's also really makes this cover so much more special that she did actually get to hear it and loved it so much she wanted to be part of it.

The song is very impactful because of the circumstances surrounding it but it does still make you wonder how good it would have been if Dolores would have been part of it!

@@thedarcbird it wasn't suicide though. she died of accidental drowning, likely due to being passed out from a night of drinking. The suicide story was a rumor spread by a tabloid media in very bad taste.

Not just a great cover, but the imagery of the lady in gold representing Dolores gets me every time. 💔

She wrote her death date in the gold paint. This video is beyond moving. Not sure if I have seen anything to this level in music video before. I was around when this song came out originally & that was crazy then, but not this degree. Chills.

Saw Bad wolves in concert and they did this song. The lead singer brought his mom on stage and they sung together. Freaking amazing

This song was written by the Cranberries for two young boys who were blown up and killed by an IRA bomb walking by a bin outside McDonald's in Warrington England on Feb 26 1993, the boys were Tim Parry aged 12 and Jonathen Ball aged 3. They were innocent victims of war between Ireland and the UK, thankfully this war is over forever one hopes. But, may the souls from both sides of this long hard war finally RIP.

It was 20th March when Johnathan and Tim were killed, 26th February was the first attack (failed) on the gas storage facility in the town.

I love the glass scene. she's on the other side now. but has left her finger/hand print on the world R.I.P

This song and Sound of Silence by Disturbed got me thru the very difficult times of the pandemic. The best ever!!

The thing that got me was the date Delores died written on the wall by the lady in gold. Choked me up.

Like Disturbed's cover of Sound of Silence, Jack White's cover of Jolene, and many more songs covered by hard rock or heavy metal bands, they always take the song to another level. Love this band!

Glad to see even the generations that grew up with the song approve the cover, they must have done an amazing job if we're ALL in agreement lol

Equal parts brilliant amplification of the message of the original and gorgeous eulogy for the departed singer. Will never not give me chills when i listen

What a great cover, and a brill video, very touching, she on the other side of the glass and he can't touch or reach her now, WOW.

I read that the band had to regain their composure after the golden girl arrived for the 1st time.

All of their songs are incredible. Everyone I have watched react to this video always misses the 1-15-18 on the glass. I am not for sure, but believe that was another way Bad Wolves paid tribute to Delores in the song.

Hi Michael, thank you for you comment, It took me a while because I forgot Americans write the date backwards/wrong but I believe 1-15-18 (15th Jan ‘18) is the date Delores passed away

@@taylorfamilyreactions I am American and I couldn't agree more about "the date backwards/wrong" thing. I joined the USArmy early in life and they use Day-Month-Year the same as the rest of the world. I'm honestly not sure why the rest of the country still can't catch on. Now that I'm retired I still have trouble remembering that civilians do the date "backwards/wrong"

They did a mash-up of the Cranberries and Bad Wolves and it is INCREDIBLE!!!

Saw them perform this live in 2019. This band is outstanding live as well!

"Pfffttt" more or less was your end of video quote, as mine was upon 1st seeing this cover under the circumstances ....... WTF else is there to say.............? -- Except maybe that I read that when the model, name Ava Capra I think, came on the set in the gold paint EVERYBODY just went ........................ dumbfounded silent for a bit -- I can't imagine what it must have been like for the band that was going to record with her the day she died to see THAT tribute imagery ......... PFFFTTT!!!!!

They have a great set of songs, Remember When is an amazing one of theirs, and so is Sober. Tommy Vext (the singer) left the band around 7 months ago.

When the golden model first came out the band stopped everything. Then had to take so time to compose themselves before finishing the video

The singer is Tommy Vext. He recorded this w/studio musicians and the rest of the band showed up for the video. He alone made and then donated all the money to her children. He is an amazing human being. He has since been kicked out of Bad Wolves for his Right leaning political views.

He wasn't kicked out of the band he left on his to keep his band from losing face with the public and didn't his bandmates to suffer from his political beliefs

I wonder where are the Cranberries' bands. Their guitarists and the drummers. They too sure are proud on this cover.

It sounds very good, but Dolores her version was way more powerful imo. She brought this message deep in my heart and soul. Her sound, her voice, that Irish funeral 'crying' (keening?) it all gave me goosebumps every time I've heard this song, still does and that's almost 4 decades.

Her voice is basically that anyway. She was from Limerick and it added to it more. Its a powerful voice

Painful and an opportunity to reflect on the madness.

It really is almost as if they were meant to do this song the way they did. Very rarely does a cover bring the same, if not more emotion than the original.🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘

Great video concept. But why are we pretending this is a good cover? Slick overproduction kills the song for me - and please, spare me the argument of how Dolores wanted to be a part of this. She was obviously not in her right mind at the time. Who the hell does ANYONE think they are, altering these lyrics? They didn’t have goddamn DRONES during the Troubles, which didn’t have anything to do with 2018. It’s not okay for a bunch of Americans to water down a song about a very specific Irish conflict. Glad they donated to her kids. That’s the only positive thing I can say about this auto-tuned nü-metal drivel. There’s a freaking disclaimer quote at the end from the lead singer who’s NOT from Ireland and whose voice is mediocre without digital assistance. He’s explaining why they did the song, but let’s be honest, he’s apologizing. There should be an international ban on covering this legendary song. Seriously, WTF. No. This cover is SO bad.
