Open Yourself To This Ignored Truth - Alan Watts On The Universe And Existence

In this powerful and inspiring video, the legendary philosopher Alan Watts challenges how we ignore a fundamental cosmic truth that has the power to transform our lives. Original Audio sourced from: "The Web of Life, Part 1” by Alan Watts
►“Through our eyes, the universe is perceiving itself. Through our ears, the universe is listening to its harmonies. We are the witnesses through which the universe becomes conscious of its glory, of its magnificence.”
- Alan Watts. (1915 - 1973)

We still do have him through the medium of media. His message still lives on from the heart of the 60s because for all we know, the people of the 60s were right. The music, people, and art of the era still have a certain edge on today's modern world. What was then is still very relevant today, in other words. Alan watts is a beautiful man from this era.

God is everyone of us. Everyone of us is an aperture through which God looks out. We are more than a small hole. We are the whole works. But we ignore the background and oneness. We can hear the music only because we can hear the tone, the interval. Existence is the function of relationship, as basic as yin and yang. The two are one. Thanks Alan. 4 July 2023.🦓🎯🤡⛩✈🎅🦅😇💖🚈🐘

The heaviest line to me was "existence itself is relationship" as it is so simple yet so true. nothing exist that isn't effecting and being effected by something else. World works in many mysterious ways, but to fear it is folly. The most important thing is to try and see a bigger picture and how none of us are an island, entire of itself; isolationism at its' core is antitheses to existence. You cannot act in a way that doesn't change the world. It may seem overwhelming. Just know that everything is, in some small way, a reflection of you. You are everywhere in the world, and the world coalesced to form you. Wars had to be fought, oceans had to freeze to put anybody where they are right now. The Universe must have wanted us pretty bad considering the myriad of nearly unimaginable circumstances that plops us, here in the now.

Such flowery imagery. While "coping" is an incredibly useful tool coveted and paid for by many, I don't think it's the goal. If by useful you mean tangible I think you're missing the point to life. I could throw those words right back at you, Mr. Glass house.

  • @OrgusDin

@@u-mos8820 I don't want to cope, all you people do is cope, you can't throw anything at me and you're coping about that now too. This boomer never shut up about how life had no point, so I don't know how you could miss it if he's right, which I hope he's not because I don't want to be in an existential relationship with some stupid coper who can't even do better than this.

❤ you just reminded me of this beautiful saying I saved a while back In a mother's womb were two babies. The first baby asked the other: "Do you believe in life after delivery?" The second baby replied, "Why, of course. There has to be something after delivery. Maybe we are here to prepare ourselves for what we will be later. "Nonsense," said the first. There is no life after delivery. What would that life be? "I don’t know, but there will be more light than here. Maybe we will walk with our legs and eat from our mouths." The doubting baby laughed. "This is absurd! Walking is impossible. And eat with our mouths? Ridiculous. The umbilical cord supplies nutrition. Life after delivery is to be excluded. The umbilical cord is too short." The second baby held his ground. "I think there is something and maybe it's different than it is here." The first baby replied, "No one has ever come back from there. Delivery is the end of life, and in the after- delivery it is nothing but darkness and emptiness and it takes us nowhere." "Well, I don't know," said the twin, "but certainly we will see mother and she will take care of us." "Mother?" The first baby guffawed. "You believe in mother? Where is she now?" The second baby calmly and patiently tried to explain. "She is all around us. It is in her that we live. Without her there would not be this world." "Ha. I don’t see her, so it's only logical that she doesn't exist." To which the other replied, "Sometimes when you' re in silence you can hear her, you can perceive her. I believe that there is a reality after delivery and we are here to prepare ourselves for that reality when it comes...." At one time you couldn’t see your Mother and yet she sustained you. Oh, how much more real is our God.

We are programmed, from childhood, to look deeply for perfection so much so that, as adults, we miss the perfection in our very flaws. Each and every one of us, from the best to the worst, is in a constant battle to promote the best parts and demote the worst parts of our personalities. This is an incredible battle that requires great strength of character and resolute resolve. We are brilliant and we are terrible in equal measure. This is the human condition and it is a journey that never ends until it finally ends.

Great upload thank you. Shows us so much! Quantum physics, mechanic, relativity etc you cant have one by itself 2 really equals 1 eg physical & spiritual go together you can’t have one and not the other because one without the other doesn’t work. 1 not in number but as a whole. (The meanings are endless) Understanding the relative point of View is not necessary the point of view of the absolute! Therefore relativity is only a tool to the absolute. What everyone sees is relativity instead of the absolute. Religion is a good example. Religion is only relative to the absolute. There is more than one religion therefore it compares its self. while the absolute which is singular lies within all unlimited one not in number but as a whole. We have Judaism, Christianity, muslim/Islam, Hinduism, buddhism, science and the alike. Which are relative to each other but with a twist. But are the same family but different opinions. Making it a relative truth. As we look deep in, past the smoke Screen we should see the absolute. Which is singular that no one wants or can’t see. Didn’t really want to add this bottom part but thought it’s relevant for who ever wants to read it. Sorry it’s quite long but it’s the shortened version hehe Are we not supposed to believe in the 10 commandments? Well one of the commandments say, Thy shall not make to thy self any graven image, of anything that’s in the heavens above or the earth beneath or the waters of the earth, thy shall not bow to them nor worship them. So what’s he saying? It’s about the destruction of IDOLS! Because the most dangerous graven imagines are not those which are made of wood and stone, they are those made of IDEAS! It is we’ll known if you look, as said by the awoken ones, the only way to truely find/recognise God is by destroying all ideas you have of God. For all ideas & perception of him are all illusions/veils/limitations we put up for ourselves. They are relative which makes them limited, they are tools to guide you while the absolute which is singular lies within them all unlimited! One not in number but as a whole!

We are FRACTALS of Source. Religion and government have always been the enemies of humanity. Spirituality as Children of God is the path to follow, not religion and their rituals, doctrines and dogma. Meditation is necessary, with introspection and self-evaluation and self-transformation. We each must "unlearn" the narrative we've been led to believe. From our parents, to school, to church to government, all of it must fall under suspicion since these institutions have each shown their hostile intents towards humanity as a whole. The Age of Aquarius, which began in 2012, is bringing the frequencies and light-codes to help humanity break free of Kali Yuga and its curse.

When you look into a mirror to observe your eyes, is it you as the source that is doing the looking or is it your reflection that is doing the looking? In a reflection, the One becomes as two, so the one can observe itself. Or you can think that both the source and the reflection exist to observe each other.

I've listened to dozens of hours of this guy talking about all manner of stuff and I can't imagine being motivated or inspired by any of it, maybe ending up depressed in a mental institution. Listen to someone who wasn't a buzzkill, even if he's right you'd be better off. This philosophy of everything is one and nothing matters leaves you with very little room to have a reason to care about anything or do anything, and it leaves us all with an infinite well of meaningless suffering for innocents that is never accounted for really. Only accounted for by some cope that we/the victims are doing/causing it (just basic victim blaming) even though we literally are not as egos embodied in nature, we are basically the prisoners of a self-hating godhead if he's right. What's the benefit of knowing that, even if it were true? I will deny it for my life even if it is true, and let's see the godhead do something about it, he won't because it's all BS. Come at me demiurge. The only stuff he's really useful for is his advice about distancing yourself from things and not overthinking everything, when he starts trying to justify the existence of the worst atrocities within the universe as being a meaningless game the victims are responsible for being part of, then I as a human being must react with revulsion and reject the very idea on principle. It is almost as anti-life a philosophy as the rigid Christianity he often criticized, and I'm not part of anyone's death cult, thanks.

@@OrgusDin Personally, I think it's hardly fair to generalize his work as being single minded, or as having the potential to affect large groups of people in an overall depressing way. I mean, unless I'm missing something, a quick look at the comment section of this video alone shows quite the contrary to be true.

None of them are in here weighing in because they don't know jack, they aren't motivated enough to really think deeply, they aren't inspired enough to come up with a reply other than "lots of brainlets like this guy's slop." It disgusts me and I have great disdain for it, but I expect absolutely nothing from the combined efforts of all of you. It's a youtube comment, it doesn't have to be fair, what is Alan going to do about it? If he's right then the world's unfairness is so thoroughly baked in as to make the whole game not "worth a candle" to use his useless boomerism and indicate yes I have wasted hours of my life listening to this depressing message of nihilistic death worship mixed with eastern woo woo and cope.

Thing about old Alan is that he just tells people what they want to hear. It's all wishy washy new age nonsense. People need to repent or perish. Get right with God and his son Jesus now, while you still got the time.

He says what's right it must be if it resonates if religion is right why are there so many why can't anybody decide on which1 is right ? Maybe religion is just saying what you want to hear. Forget what religion and alan says what do you say what do you fee deep inside is the truth you can have your own opinion without subscribing I lean more towards what alan is saying because its a way felt all my life.
