He had more presence and charisma as Kirk's father in that first 10 minutes than the entire cast for the rest of the movie. Here are some facts for you from someone who worked on acolyte. It started filming summer 22 at the new reading studios reading and finished filming May 23 at same studios . We were told when wrapping up they had four episodes in the can at the end . I do not know if there was shooting on sets in other countries ie Back in USA but there were a few shoots in Madeira and Wales the production overspilled to the Arborfield studios close by. There were alot of sets forests, space ships, temples, caves and street scenes . This felt more like a film set than a tv . Working in the industry I have not come across a shoot with so much secrecy regarding the story, it usually trickles out because of what you see and make and the actors you see around , not this time , so I had to ask around . 😆.I bump into a few of the smaller bit part actors here and there and they were very guarded about the story and seemed a little unhappy ,not the usual chatty excitement. We had no trouble getting paid but crew size starts to dwindle towards the end in most productions . My fear was that the script would be modern woke garbage but I have no concrete evidence for this . As for running out of budget to finish don't know. Might be a case of panic back at disney and cutting costs due to recent events there . Would be a shame alot of people worked hard on this production🤫🤐

So yeah it makes total sense having like a Gulf Coast entertainment industry, a Northeast industry, a west Coast industry, a southeast/Dixie entertainment industry....that way we can all get stories that match our tastes and values and we can compete against each other for exporting stories around the greater US and the English speaking world!

Even without the sub disaster. There's Avengers movies announced without any Avengers in it. Little Mermaid doesn't have Ariel in it. Star Wars doesn't have Luke Skywalker in it (I'm sorry, talk all you want about the Star Wars Universe, it wasn't supposed to be one. Star Wars is Luke's story. Period. In the same way that Blade Runner is Rick Deckard's story.) And finally, the best part of a 2023 Flash movie is 1989 Batman, along with Wonder Woman and Supergirl flashing their ass to camera. This IS the epicentre of the retardation earthquake.

Food for thought, group mentions the reset for DC is the Gunn mistake; but the group should have conceeded that Schneiderverse people still demanding that direction. That demand would be a creeping problem pushing forward. If you choose write down on it, assuming you can after all you already wrote down so far. The write down could be after the theatrical release. Miller is the cancer of that casting. It may be the best money game to play it this way.

The Witcher could have been amazing, and that first Blaviken battle was the height of their potential. The amount of work that went into that and Cavill being at the heart of reshooting it and giving his all to the choreography was where they should've decided to actually LISTEN to him. The first shoot of that scene was boring and Cavill worked closely with the stunt team to make it special. I'm not watching season 3, but I am greatly invested in watching your review of it. Guy Ritchie seems to know Cavill's potential and I hope their latest collaboration gives Cavill the boost he deserves.

With DC, I feel like the combination of Ezra's criminal history, Gunn announcing a reboot with 4 films still on the current slate (why see any of these films if they don't matter?) plus the very public shit canning of Cavill (who is universally well liked) after announcing his return has done A LOT of damage to DC brand on film. Plus nobody wants this MCU but from Wish vibe that the DCU seems to be going for with James Gunn (who's barely an average filmaker at best). Point is, to hang Flash flopping solely on Ezra is to miss the forest for one singular tree. At the end of the day, Warner Bros is a shit company and they've been totally bungling DC films ever since the Nolan trilogy ended.

The funny thing is,WB can turn the tide on this one. Plenty of people are itching to see it cause of Keaton, but feel like they'd be supporting Ezra Miller in the process. If WB came out today and said they'd release Miller from all WB contracts and they should've changed him out, and they were wrong, I think people like myself would be more comfortable seeing it. Ezra's already been paid for his part. The only thing he stands to gain is to continue getting work in Hollywood if this succeeds. People knew that. They didn't show up. If WB made the above statements I'd go see it. Even if it is garbage. I enjoy super heros. I don't enjoy groomers.

Critical drinker sits shirtless in a circle of lambs blood, chanting in a shadowy room. Flickering candles are all that illuminate the grim scene. He holds a brass puzzle box, rubbing and twisting it. It begins to move, changing shape as the room shakes slightly, dust from the rafters sprinkling the macabre scene. If you were in the room, you might be able to make out his hushed mumbling words…well, one word really, uttered over and over, almost inaudible, a whispering chant…”long…long…” A crack appears on the previously seamless box. A tendril of smoke shoots forth, twisting and wrapping itself around the drinkers neck. A booming disembodied voice issues from every corner of the room “why have you summoned me, mortal?” It demands. “Oh great long, lord of mewb, I beseech thee…grant me the ability to drink longer…and maybe a bottle of toilet duck to get me started”. “What do you offer me in return, mortal?” The drinker stops, not sure what to offer an eldritch god of long. What would even entice such an alien entity? As he considers, the voice interrupts “bring me sacrifices. I must consume. Media. Bring me the vile that I may punish it’s transgressions…I have such sights to show you…” Visibly shaken for the first time by the vicious glee in the evil voice, he only whispers “aye” The lights flare and then go out. The smell of things unknown to this world permeated the air, and then a single candles flame flickered back to life. Shadows danced on the walls in the paltry light, but one in particular seemed to move of its own accord. Two pinpricks of crimson light glowed dull but perceptible. “I must feed” hissed a voice, similar in tone but much quieter than the first. The shadow twisted and stretched into impossible shapes and lengths, dancing around the room as if inspecting its surroundings. It approached drinker. He wiped the cold sweat from his brow and inched backwards but the shadow was suddenly upon him, impossibly quick. “I must feed” the voice says again, insistent and with the edge of hunger in its tone. Drinker looked around, but all he could see in the dark was the corner of a boxed set of the Disney sequels laying on the ground a well meaning but misguided relative had sent him for Christmas. Desperately, he grabbed at the dvd set and with trembling hands presented it to the shadow. It recoiled at first, hissing, then he heard what can only be described as a sniffing noise. Then a sneeze. “This is fouler than I anticipated my first meal to be, but it will do. You have done well mortal. Your reward” The shadows spun and curled into a ball on the floor, then stretched again towards the hand holding the dvds. Instinctively drinker dropped it and recoiled but though it fell it never reached the floor. Shadows intercept the box and it’s disappears, never to be seen again. A thunderous burp shook the room again. “That was gross” the drinker said, snapping out of his daze. “Tell me about it” the voice says with a wry tone. For the first time, the drinker noticed something white on the ground where the shadows had previously coalesced. Noticing his curiosity, the shadow retreated to the edge of the light to make room. On the floor was a small bottle. Of toilet duck. “ALRIGHT!!!” Hollered the drinker, snatching the bottle and ripping its top off. He upended it and guzzled until the bottle was empty, then dropped it on the floor, a pleased smile on his face and a twinkle in his eye. “More” was all he said. “That’s what I was going to say” whispered the shadows inhuman voice. “So what am I supposed to call you?” Drinker asked, the liquid courage steadying his nerves. “I’ve been called many things, but lately I’ve taken a liking to the name mal’air” hissed the voice. “Mauler? That’s a weird name…” said the drinker, a quizzical look on his face. “No, its…oh never mind…” the voice said, exasperated. It approached the drinker once more, but this time the drinker was unafraid. Nerves steadied and will reinforced, he was merely curious. Attempts to separate the form of the shadow from its surroundings were futile, though he squinted in the barely lit room, attempting to do so anyway. The shadow swirled in a ball again, then stretched up and away. Where it swirled, on the floor a bottle of turpentine lay. Drinker snatched it up with a smile on his face. “This is the beginning of a beautiful friendship” he said as he unscrewed the cap. He drank with gusto while the hissing voice chuckled. “I do have a favor to ask” said the shadows voice. “The treat you gave me was delicious, but I’ll need something to help with the smell. It’s terrible”. The drinker thought for a second. “Don’t know” he said after a moment, happily returning to his bottle. “Check the closet maybe? There’s some old suits, an army surplus ruck sack and some coats, other odds and ends. Maybe you’ll find something you like. Take what you need.” “Excellent” whispered the slithering voice. “Excellent”

Mission Impossible will do gangbusters. Tom Cruise has a weird past but he has 100% proved he wants to entertain us with fun, escapism and excitement without the BS political messaging at the movies like we used to get from Hollywood. He has the trust of us plebs. We are pretty sure he will produce something damned good. We are starved for decent, no nonsense entertainment and whoever can produce that will be in the mega big bucks. ESG score is the path to communist destruction of business.

Remember, Tom Cruise learnt his lesson. He was all out there jumping on couches and bashing people for calling out his weird ideas as weird. He's out bashing Brooke Shields for seeing a psychologist about post-partum depression. Because Tom's cult views psychiatry as witchcraft. He's beefing with the press. And then he realised it wasn't gonna work and he was being a jackass and he went away and came back with Tropic Thunder and learnt to shut the fuck up, by now, because no one cares about his cult. He had to learn. He did learn and it didn't affect his work ethic. Cheers to the guy. He's hellbent on rescuing movie theatres right now.
