    Some advice for anyone that may be thinking of exploring abandoned buildings: 1. If possible always bring some friends along. Not only will it be more fun for everyone but you will also have someone there to help you out in case something happens. 2. Always make sure someone that isn’t going on the trip knows where you are going, what you plan to do there and for how long you expect to be gone for! *Never enter underground areas without having done this first!* 3. Many old buildings have asbestos or black mold in them so wear face masks. *If the building used to house chemicals then do not enter it!* There’s a very real possibility some of it may still be there and face masks are not enough to protect you from it! 4. If you can hear something moving around inside the building then quickly and quietly leave it immediately and leave the area. Sure it might just be some rats or some birds but do you really want to take that chance? 5. Some things that are good to bring along: Flashlights, thick gloves (you do *not* want to cut yourself on the debris, trust me), face masks, markers (to mark where you came from, just in case), cell phones, a fully charged powerbank and glowsticks in various colours (again, to mark where you came from). Consider bringing along a crowbar and some bolt cutters to make it easier for you to gain entry. Also bring along a camera, Iphones cameras are good but try to save the battery “just in case.” 6. Safety first. Remember that the building has been abandoned for quite some time and is no longer being maintained so don’t go out on catwalks or go climbing up on shelves or ladders. Exploring abandoned buildings *is* fun but it’s not worth getting hurt (or worse!) over.

    For the last boss I feel like when she does the "crab walk" you're supposed to let her attack, dodge it and then shoot cause it looked like she remains red for a longer time after attacking from that stance, she probably has super armor or something during it which is why she still hits you even if you shot her first.

    In Fatal Frame I, II, III, IV & V the highest shot was called "Fatal Frame" there was also a "Fatal Chance" in Fatal Frame V, that gave you more time to shoot a ghost. Also In all 5 Fatal Frame games, you couldn't just shoot, shoot, shoot....Depending on what type of film you were using, you had to wait for up to 5-7-10 seconds for the film's load bar to refill before you could take another picture. That's why in Fatal Frame V, they give you a "Fatal Chance" ability/option/mechanic that allowed you to take multiple pictures in quick succession without using any film and without having to wait for the film to reload. It was pretty neat. Ren Hojo's camera Obscura in Fatal Frame V, had a feature that allowed you to take up to 4 pictures at once, but it used more film and you had to wait longer before you could take another picture. Still, it was a neat mechanic. n_n Alos in the Fatal Frame games, you sometimes had to fight up to 2-3-5 ghosts at once. I always liked fighting multiple because it makes it challenging to have to keep track of all of them at once lol n_n

    Just from the style of the title screen I could tell it's a Chilla's game. I really like this new visual approach, and I think horror games where you aren't completely helpless are getting more popular (there was a huge saturation of "run away while scary thing chases you with loud noises happening" horror games) so good to see that they're evolving. The combat just seems a little slow because ghosts are invincible and just floating doing nothing a lot though.

  • @Lucifronz

    @Lucifronz

    9 ай бұрын

    Sorry, but I feel the need to correct you: "horror games where you aren't completely helpless" are *oversaturated* on the market, not just "getting more popular". They always have been. Titles like Silent Hill and Resident Evil as series tend to overdo the action side of survival-horror, in fact, that's why people complained about RE5, RE6 and well... Silent Hill past 4 has been extremely bland and generic beyond just playing poorly. And this game isn't really "evolving" anything, it's basically just an inferior version of Fatal Frame because ghosts are only vulnerable right as they're about to hit you, but they're unpredictable and it takes a bit to wind up your camera just to flash them. It's a more frustrating system that I don't entirely understand why they kept it and didn't simplify it before release. Ultimately as much as I love Chilla's Art's games as far as visuals and scares go, this one is very lacking in terms of gameplay. It reinvents the wheel and it does so with a lot of sharp edges instead of smooth ones (i.e. - it does it poorly). Though I commend them for trying. Even a failure is a chance to learn and I think it's cool that they tried to make a Fatal-Frame-style horror game of their own. If only more people were so bold. It seems like whenever a big publisher's developers do something innovative, they get like maybe a few shoddy copies in the early days and then *nothing* for decades. You would have expected tons of Fatal Frame knockoffs, but there are shockingly few that I can think of. The best example I can come up with is maybe DreadOut, but that's stretching it calling it a Fatal Frame knockoff, it certainly does its own thing and the phone-camera is just a small element of it.

Agree with Manly's thoughts on the game. I was expecting some kind of fight with the father, at least. The one thing that was really weird to me was linking your health to the camera. It seems like the only reason it exists is just to separate it from Fatal Frame in some way. There wasn't any need for it. Having a health bar and reloading the camera is fine. The mechanic exists because it works well.

    Were all the letters found? I feel like there was at least one missing when I was trying to recall the letters and piece the story together. It really doesn't help that they kinda had to be found out of order, and I didn't see a screen/menu where they could be counted and revisited so that you could re-read them and know which ones you had and how many were left. lol I was only wondering because I am still left with questions about the core events of the plot. How did it go from infidelity suspicions to everyone being dead? Why was the Mom's corpse the only one in the house to be exorcised even though there were so many other ghosts? Did the Mom go on a rampage, or was it the Dad? Maybe it was the man covered in hay? Why was the Dad (i assume it was the Dad) only in underwear? Were the cheating allegations confirmed? When did she curse the house? LOL I am definitely overthinking this now :D Great playthrough! I love this channel so much! Thank you for such great horror game content!

    A month late, but if you haven't found answers elsewhere: Yes, there's a note where the infidelity is confirmed, and the mother goes on a rampage, killing the father and the two girls before hanging herself. Her angry spirit was the heart of the curse, and the boy-spirit was holding them all there until she could be cleansed, for the sake of her earlier, kinder nature. (Based on his appearance, I think the hay guy was a namahage, a spirit or ogre who searches for lazy or naughty children--not part of the family. My guess is that he was searching for the boy, but he could represent something else, like a manifestation of the mother's cruel punishments.)

    _You made the game look good_ Then again, you always do with every game. You made it scary and I appreciated when even you were creeped out.! I liked the atmosphere, the spookiness of the environment. Those continuous doors. I liked the art of the ghosts/ghouls/spirits/etc. The father with his stick or lead pipe was very menacing as was the other figure with the mask and machete. The mother was super weird and creepy in appearance and movements as were the other two (floor/standing). Do I want to play this game? No. I think if no save, then at least have checkpoints because a game should be "fun" to play, not punitive. That may be fine for some people who need to challenge themselves - I prefer to enjoy myself getting spooked out. I think the map was too big requiring what I'm sure was endless wandering to find the little toys - AND medallions, AND other trinkets. Why this required inventory management is a mystery. The story was trite and a throwaway, but that is the same with all Chilla's Art games as are the overlong meandering nature and weird puzzles. They absolutely nail the eeriness, the spookiness, the look of the antagonists and environment and the sounds. But they need checkpoints and they need polish.

Still, I do think they did a nice job. I got scared more than once, and we always need more games in that Fatal Frame vibe. As the good ending does leave a question unanswered, I hope this gets a sequel.

    While definitely a creepy atmosphere, I'm a little confused by the story. I get that the family basically went downhill and the mother seems to be the source of the curse, but how did it go from "Oh, I think my hubby is cheating and I hit my kids!" to full-on ghost infestation? Who the fuck was the guy in the costume just begging for a ghost lighter? And the note at the beginning about child abductions and shit - is there some kind of widespread ghost party going on? Is this gonna turn out to be tied to the store one? Is there gonna be some kind of Chilla Cinematic Universe thing? The beginning note and end notes certainly feel like they're hinting at a bigger story than just this game...

    Someone else explained in another comment, so I thought I'd share. So the mother snapped and murdered her husband and the twins. She then hung herself. The murder/suicide combo resulted in the curse. The masked one is a mixture. He could be a namagage, a ghost that attacks disobedient children and he's there for the boy ghost. Alternatively, he's an amalgamation of the mother's rage.

    This was a great stream! You have a great voice for it and give just the right amount of dialogue. I listen to this while working, so I don't get the chance to stare at the screen the whole time. So the only thing that would really help is to slow down when reading the text (if you aren't being chased, that is). It makes it easier to understand what's being said. Subscribed!
