You're all yapping about her giving birth to an eventful king, as giving birth is the biggest achievement for a woman. 🙄 Elizabeth brought about the golden age and surpassed them all, now THAT is a true achievement, a true victory.

He was distanced by the Protestants lords who hated Mary for being a catholic monarch. Imagine a child raised hating catholic and knowing that your mother is one f them. I also suppose that Mary’s enemies spoke against Mary to James..

I've red here that some say Mary loved more than Elizabeth. Mary thought with her 'heart' rather than her head, she was a slave of her passions and her ambitions. Elizabeth loved her country so much she refused to marry to hand the control over, (you also have the trauma of what happened to her mother and watching her father get rid of queen after queen like old shoes. She fought to be respected and taken seriously, I wouldn't give that up either) she never wanted to kill Mary, there are accounts of them writing letters calling each other sister but she understud that a catholic reform would lead to another massacre just like in the times of her sister Mary I when she burned protestants. Elizabeth wouldn't allow that to happen to her people again. And after letters were discovered of Mary plotting to assassinate Elizabeth she needed to be eliminated to mantein peace and not make her and by default England look weak and sentimental to foreign powers.

How about we love and respect both queens?

@Jaheim_J7treee The thing is people need to understand, things don’t just happen easily and for fun, It took nearly a year for Elizabeth to sign the death warrant as she was so against killing her that she felt sick at the thought of killing her cousin, however the old men of the court pushed her to do so and put a lot of pressure on her, and when I say a lot I mean a LOT! She feared that if Mary could lose her head so could she, only one queen could survive, there are even some sources that say Elizabeth at the last minute realised what was going to happen to Mary, and ran around the tower several times trying to stop them but it was too late, she was so furious she jailed the Man who ordered her beheaded, unlike Mary who desperately wanted Elizabeth dead

dave arc she wouldn’t have been chased out of Scotland if she hadn’t remarried so quickly. She killed her last husband because she thought he would get custody of her son. All of that is historical. She ruled with her heart. Elizabeth ruled with her head.

Mary Queen of Scots was very very clever! Most people absolutely loved and adored her but Elizabeth was so jealous of her. She had every reason to be because the Catholic Church was the majority in Europe and they were the ones that wanted Mary Queen of Scots on the throne because technically she was next in line, EXCEPT that Elizabeth was a biological child of Henry the 8th. Elizabeth was a much better Queen than her half-sister Mary Tudor..

Sadly she found out what he was like after the marriage and it was the Nobles in Scotland that killed him and it was not Mary Queen of Scots or Lord Bothwell.

strwberrology you are talking about Mary’s Tudor correct, I still think she had some hatred for her father due to the fact her father naming her a “bastard”, not allowing her to see her mother Catherine of Aragon even write letters. She wasn’t even allow to attend her funeral. She threw most of her hatred on Anne Boleyn, fully blaming her and barely blaming her father. Elizabeth had many reasons to not so call “adore” Henry, she realized some of the great aspects he had as a ruler, what happened to her mother, her downfall, Katherine Howard who she liked very much and they were in relations through the Boleyn family tree. Katherine Howard was a first cousin to Anne Boleyn. Including how quickly he divorced Anne of Cleves, knowing she was a female monarch, how people were unhappy with who her sister Mary Tudor married. Just the list goes on and on.

You see,elizabeth knows how to play this brutal game on who gets the throne first she is a woman who doesnt need a king she is loved by her people she is what we call a queen who doesnt need a man ever in her life she showed us the power of a woman

Uniting two kingdoms with Tudor and Stuart blood and ending rivalry, laying foundations of British empire. But in the end, Elizabeth remained virgin, like she pleased. She got a heir like she wanted. She didn't share her power and ruled England in Golden Age. Mary couldn't even hold her title Queen of scots and scots chose her newborn son instead of her. And yet, Elizabeth fought Spanish and Catholics while Mary couldn't handle her husband, who was plotting against her. But hey, her son who hated her and didn't share the same faith become king of England so Mary won.... eh🙄

Mary got kicked out of her own country. And she thought she should be Queen of England? How long did she think she could keep that throne? I'm descended from a member of the Stuart clan, but once I learned the stories of both queens, based on authentic historical documents, I never had any sympathy for Mary.

RavenRoseProductions well than don't see it its based on history that just the plot of the show we all knew from the beginning its history fictional we were warned and we saw it because we did some fans care about the show and I do because reign has been amazing and fans like you will never get reign because of your constant hard feelings on not following history or because simply reign followed history in season 3 and killed Francis. And you got butt hurt I honestly say this comes from a boy who is otp is frary but I was grateful for reign to kill off Francis because that's when Mary Story began really and me and so many fans stayed for her to see her rise and fall but at least we can remember Mary as kind hearted she wasn't strong as Elizabeth Elizabeth was manipulative and that's what you need to survive being queen Mary thinks of her heart not her head and that's why she fall Elizabeth is remembered as a hero but truly Mary is the hero because with her blood scottland and England find peace she was the obstacle that threatened Elizabeth truthfully Elizabeth was afraid of Mary And any queen would she has the heart of the truest believer in royalty 👑

She wanted England because she lost Scotland and once she had her son the barons of Scotland no longer cared for her reign. She knew it was Catholics in England and some of them supported her and she also had a claim threw her grandmother which was Elizabeth's aunt. So she very much wanted the throne of England because her prospects in Scotland and France had all but dried up.

She fled there and was imprisoned. Unfortunately for her she had always been allied to Elizabeth's enemies and was a source for rebellion within England, something the Tudors were well acquainted with. The Tudors killed off many relatives who threatened their power including Lady Jane Grey (queen for nine days) aged 15/6 . Mary would have thought her status and divinity gave her immunity to execution, but that wasn't the case, many in the English court wanted her death. She was imprisoned and many years later given an opportunity to converse and plot from her prison. She plotted against Elizabeth and it was the ammunition her enemies needed. To me it seems she was just desperate and naive to the dangers. Elizabeth was constantly at risk of a family member killing her off in her youth so was never caught plotting even if she probably was. Some think she was set up I'm inclined to think she genuinely messed up. But she was always low on options and dealt a very poor hand in life. It is difficult to believe she didn't want England given that her second husband was a distant heir to the English throne, the French seemed to be setting her up as a Catholic candidate and she was likely plotting for the throne in prison.

I like Mary but I don’t think she was smart enough to understand in the show and in history in the show it’s shows her to be quick and she thinks that but if that was her in real life then maybe she would have gotten England I mean she would have stopped with all the mess and the drama and really focused on England just as Elizabeth did then she would have never gotten her head taken off

I think that Mary actually should have focused on Scotland, and not on the English succession. In my opinion, alongside with her marriages of Darnley (which itself I suspect was in part instigated by her obsession with her claims to the English throne) and Bothwell, it was her chief mistake. If she had focused on ruling Scotland, had stopped to dream about becoming queen of England and had not pressed Elizabeth to declare her as successor, she may well have stayed alive and who knows maybe outlived Elizabeth and succeeded her. But unfortunately, Mary had no patience for that and she did nothing to earn Elizabeth's trust.

An Ca hey, also die meisten (alle?) Szenen sind von der Amerikanischen Serie Reign. Die gibt es auf Netflix auch mit deutschem Ton. Aber um fair zu sein muss ich dich warnen dass die Serie überhaupt nicht historisch getreu ist. Ich kann dir aber die Serie "the Tudors" empfehlen. Geht um Henry 8 und ist wirklich sehr sehr gut gemacht! Sonst gibt es auch noch diverse Dokumentation über die Tudor Zeit auf Netflix! Hoffe dir hilft das weiter

Your comment excellently illustrates the stereotype of romantic, warmhearted Mary vs cold, frigid, cruel Elizabeth that have been perpetuated for centuries in various fictional accounts of their lives. I myself believed in it when I was a child. Then I grew up, learnt a thing or two and realised how skewed (and misogynist towards Elizabeth) this image really is. In truth, I don't see any reason to think that Mary was more human or loved more than Elizabeth. Mary's undoing was not that she loved so much but her ambitions and inflated sense of grandeur that clouded her judgment.

Its fine if you have opinions on the show but please do some research on what actually happened and please don't go off the show. There are so many cringe comments I have written because I relied on TV and didn't educate myself on the matter and I advise you to research more so your not up at 2:00 am deleting and replying to comments.

Isn’t hat day and age being a queen in your own right just meant one thing danger, man or woman no ruler is ever safe as politically choices mary chose to her instincts which lead her to victory but also destruction Elizabeth ruled with her brain and what she thought was best for her country even if that means not to follow her instincts, Elizabeth born on Anne Boleyn was going to be in danger for the resto do her life because of how her father ilejuitimized her but also because of her mothers mistakes, Mary, Catholic and Scottish had the support of the pop which was very neccecery. By birthright? Elizabeth was a daughter of Henry VIII, Mary was a granddaughter of Henry's sister. Elizabeth had a far better claim to the throne, especially since she was protestant. Mary was also an unsuitable ruler, look where her rule of Scotland got her. That's some huge misinterpretation of both Elizabeth and Mary, look up the history books.

What Mary really wanted was the English throne. It was Elizabeth who wanted peace. Mary was executed because she plotted against Elizabeth's life and government. Lastly, the true queen is the one who can maintain her rule, it's clearly was not the case of Mary. There were hardly any 'truer' queens than Elizabeth.
