One Way to Light - Bedroom Scene

Фильм және анимация

Another video for the One Way to Light series. This time focusing on lighting a bedroom, at night, in a more dramatic style and with minimal lights.
As an FYI, this scene was shot at 800iso which doesn't have the best performance on the BMPCC 6K and it really does need a de-noise. My computer doesn't particularly enjoy editing and grading on a good day so this is very much out of the realm of possibility for me at the moment.
Hope you got something from this video and if you have any ideas of things that you want to see in a video, leave a comment below and let me know!

Thanks for watching! Do you have any scenes or scenarios you would like to see covered in this series? Thank for the video, love how you find ways to light. Interesting to light the scene and "not the talent". I was thinking, ¿if replicating some dps like Nykvist or Rachel Morrison would enter the series? Maybe would be interesting. (sorry for the grammar, it's been a while since I write in English).

It could definitely be included in the series. This technique I actually took from a recent interview I watched with DP Zoe White! She discussed not exposing the talent quite correctly but seeing how far she can push lighting the space.

Hey Fel! I wanted to say thank you for your channel, and the work you put in. It might sound a bit daft, but largely thanks to your channel, I managed to scramble together a show-reel that got me into my dream university, with no previous education or credits in film at all. I feel confident enough to work on just about any set, too, thanks to your videos on grip work etc. Please do keep the content coming!

Great video Felicia! I'd like to see one about shooting a daylight interior scene with windows in the location.

@@flickcine Let's say something contemporary and natural (i.e., not a horror scene); something you might do if you had to shoot a conversation between a couple in a kitchen. Thanks!

Great video but I don't understand what the eyelight is...isn't it when the light source appears reflected in the eye? In that case I didn't really notice it in the scene in which the man removed his eyeglasses.

Well I would say it realy depend what is in the "Bedroom Scene". Movies I pre fare use nice and good Studio Light to really light everything who is necessary to see.

Personally, i’d rather use the doorway as the mirror introduces some confusion regarding the scene layout imo
