Watching you guys now. The wife and I spent two weeks in the keys ( Jolly RogerRV Park). As soon as we arrived the wife tried to put me to work so we didn’t have to leave. 😂. Was a bit windy but still got in some great sunsets. Safe travels

Why do I find myself happy crying sometimes while watching your videos? It’s because I wish I had more of your family’s special moments with my kids but I was to busy working 9-7:30 at UPS thinking that’s what my family needed. 31 years later my boys are distant to me. Regrets but hey we can learn and then live after our mistakes right ?

I believe if it wasn't for Flaglers railroad.... we would never have Key Lime Pie..... The natives and Cubans survived on that while building the railroad ..... ???

My fellow Mainahs, we must have just missed you. We stayed at Sigbee and are now at Fiesta Key. Safe travels, maybe we'll catch up in Maine this summer if you go home.

It is almost impossible to get into the state parks. We are blessed to be able to stay on the Navy base down there.

Back in the early 70's I drove the old bridge two times down and back. I think the width was 9 feet, the first time I lost driver side mirror. Came right in my face, back then no ac so windows open. The shock made me hit the ocean side curb and that 6in from the rail. I was in a full size old time truck camper. Second time I wore a diaper LOL. Just go at the od bridge and picture driving it

*whew* ok cool now I can comment lol. I saw y’all at Sigsbee! I was on the Lectric trike getting gas from the marina. I waved and said hi but didn’t have time to stop and you two looked like you were enjoying your walk. Fast forward, I’ve been your neighbor a couple more times this season but I’ll hold off on commenting until those reveals. Safe travels! It was great because of you guys we did sunset point in October and two weeks ago did koa in keys it was great doing Further northern point and further southern point on the coast

We are staying in Cudjoe Key for a few more weeks. The keys are my happy place. We drive down from Maine. The very first place we took our camper to was Curry Hammock State Park in Marathon. Been fishing every day. So far, we have hooked Tarpon, sharks including a large Hammerhead, Barracuda, and a Jack. Happy Travels to you. Thanks for sharing.

The drive between Marathon and Key West was my everyday commute for five years. Amazing scenery, it never got old! If you are in the keys again for Sandwiches and Sunsets try the Cuban from La Nina at the corner of 15th Street and US1 in Marathon. You won't be sorry! Also, we are headed to Acadia NP this month so we will have to go back and check out your recommendations there. Safe travels!

Have you guys seen the awesome Keys history museum on Islamorada?! It is a fascinating museum with the history of the Hurricane that destroyed progress on the railroad and took so many lives. Also, one of our must do items on Marathon is the Cracked Conch Cafe! Yummy!! Love your videos!! Stay safe!!❤

How many different bridge engeers did Henery Flagler have build the railway from Miami to Key West? A great book on this is the Last Train To Paridace bt LesLast Train to Paradise by Les Standiford. Build the train tracks by floating cities, great story... Then hit by a Hurrican in 1935. Also, another great Florida book is the A Land Remembered by Patrick Smith. 👍👍👍👍

If you don't live in Florida, you'll never get a reservation at any Florida Keys state park during prime season (Oct-April). Starting Jan 2024 Florida residents have a 1 month early reservation advantage over out of state residents. Good luck. We stayed at Bahia Honda (pronounced Bay-Ya Honda) last year in March. Great campground.

We love staying in the keys! With 3 of our 6 grandkids living in Key West we visit often. Taking the grandkids to Bahia Honda is always a treat! Like you we want to stay at BH someday...ironic... getting into BH is as hard as Sigsbee...

We just spent 15 days at Sigsbee. It looks like you got hit with the same winds that hit us. The Keys are gorgeous. We stopped in Orlando at a KOA to go to universal studios for 2 days before we went home.

The only thing better than driving the bridge to Key West, is riding the bridge to Key West on a motorcycle. We LOVE Key West.....it is the Mother of all tourist traps.

I used to be a lifesaver blood donor, they would call when supplies were low, and it's not unusual for women to be low on hemoglobin, I was turned away several times; it was always a great feeling when I left knowing someone would benefit from my donation.

Great Video! I'm dying to get down to the Keys. We were in Florida in February, speaking of Henry Flagler, I love Flagler Beach (Great donut shop there called Swillerbees and it's only a couple blocks from the beach for sunrise :) I had picked up a book, I highly recommend; Last Train to Paradise by Les Standiford. It's all about Henry Flagler building that railroad. Super interesting and not a dull book at all. Author is a great writer and so interesting about Flagler. Now I want to go explore more of Flagler's FL east coast.

Iron requirements for donating is higher than normal limits. I give every 8 weeks and occasionally my levels can go a little low. They told me to take Flintstone Complete children’s multi vitamin. Maybe try that.

Before I lived in Florida for 13 years, I drove to Key West on the old Bridges 3 times. The old Bahia Honda and old 7 mile. All for fun. After moving to Ocala, I never got South of Miami for work. 😊

Did you stay at Sigsbee in Key West? We were there April 7-13 right on waterfront too. Great place. Definitely did not need sweatshirts while we were there. Took the ferry out to Dry Tortugas National Park for the day. Awesome visit.

@@FindingOurSomeday glad you enjoyed your Bahama cruise! Listening to and watching your reactions brought back memories of my cruise to the Bahamas! Those ships are AMAZING! I loved every minute of the cruises I've been on!

Great idea - Sunset and sandwich in a quiet remote spot - but in Key West it is Mallory Point, the opposite extreme, nightly sunset party time and street performers and of course the restaurants/bars on Duval. Love the Keys and the water with Bahia Honda favorite State Park. Keep trying to get reservations there. Been years and don't know if still let you walk up to the gap and look across at the old bridge. Have a great photo that shows the culvert now on top of the rails and was the fresh water supply for the Keys and looking across the the width and low rails of the old roads just barely wide enough for the 1960's vintage Caddy's Bonnevilles and Olds 98 to pass in opposite direction. In my pre-teens, my parents took me on that bridge in the 1960's. While we stayed on Islamorada, still remember parents complaining about groups partying hard and speaking Spanish (rare at the time). A few days later learned is was apparently a staging area for the Bay of Pigs invasion. Such memories.

We have done the Sunset Celebration at Mallory Point and though we think you should do it at least once, sunset and sandwiches at Bahia Honda is definitely more our speed! You can still walk up to the gap and look over! It is crazy! So glad that you have such great memories from there! That is what we are trig to create for the girls as well! Thank you for watching!

You were/are boaters as well. Do you ever wish you had a boat with you? Ours is homed at Lake Tahoe (not complaining), but when planning our RV trips with our TT, I often feel bummed that we can’t take the boat, too, as we are naturally attracted to destinations with navigable waters. 🤷‍♀️

What time interval do you use on our time lapse shots? Are they from a GoPro?

If it’s from the truck it’s the standard iPhone time warp . If it’s the DJI action or GoPro and it’s stationary,it’s somewhere between 2 and 5 seconds , you can always speed it up but you can’t slow it down(much) . If I’m moving for a Timelapse it’s on time warp/hyperlapse, not Timelapse.

You had me on Sunset and Sandwiches, then you whipped out your choice of subs……Come on guys, go to a grocery and get some French bread or hoagie rolls, fresh smoked turkey, chicken, roast beef or ham, some Kraft sliced cheese, tomatoes and shredded lettuce, but nooooo! You get the worst sub chain in the world…..you get Subway! I am very disappointed. IMO Subway is like eating a crap sandwich. Poor quality, taste like….. Now, I would let you slide with Lenny’s or Jersey Mike’s subs, maybe even a Quizno’s if they are still around. Great video and good idea, just pick a better sub shop. You’d get more nutrition picking your nose!

We definitely prefer making our own sandwiches, but with the traffic we had no time, we barely made it back up to the hike before sunset. Also, a friend of mine owns 14 subways and has done a lot for my family. He’s a contributing factor to how we were able to get on the road.
