One of My Viewers Got Ripped Off! Let's Try to Fix it! Viewer Ken sent his XBox One X to a local repair shop who said they could fix it... but they couldn't. When I tested the Xbox it powered on but there was no signal. It looks like the repair shop did a poor job replacing the HDMI port but fixing that wasn't enough to get it working again. Still a few more things to try to get it working.

    Whatever "repair" shop they sent it to was incompetent. 1) Leaving tape on. 2) Taking parts (pads, screws) off and not only not putting them back on, but not even giving them back to the customer. 3) The most amateurish solder job I've ever seen...I'm not that great at soldering, and I can do better than that. 4) Leaving a mess of old flux and not even attempting to clean it up with alcohol.

  • @fanatic26
    @fanatic263 жыл бұрын

    People that have never done electronics soldering have no idea the hours and hours of practice it takes to plop a chip down and line it up that fast. I salute your skill good sir and I am a tiny bit jealous of it. I spent years diagnosing and repairing crypto mining ASIC boards where the fix 99% of the time was to narrow down and replace the bad chip. I am glad I no longer have to do that, it can be frustrating work at times

I’ve fully customized my Dreamcast! Rgb led, recharavle battery, removed voltage regulator off psu (with gdrom drive gone the votlage spikes up to 14 and it puts out massive heat with this removed it drops back down to 12), notcua fan mod and clear case and few other things! I’m to afraid to try soldering the ODE board ribbon cables to my ps1 so I’m gonna send it out for that.

    Great work! The only reason why Ken got ripped off is from too many people masquerading as repair technicians that have no clue or the skills to do repairs like this. Even the solder joints that were supporting the HDMI plug were terrible. It's always nice to see someone that has pride in what they do and knows when they just can't fix something.
