BROKEN Taco Bell GOLD PS4 - The power and eject buttons didn't work and the PS4 wouldn't even power on when I tried to insert a disc so, of course, the next step was to get the console taken apart. Once I got it opened up the root problem was obvious - cockroaches! Gross! I hate cleaning up bug infested consoles but it's worth it to get this special edition PS4 working again.

I was SO jealous of the winners of this console. I only won a trip to the bathroom after my trip to Taco Bell.

I mean that’s pretty much our prize after eating at Taco Bell.
As much as I love Taco Bell, the condition of that system is on point for the person who consumes enough Taco Bell to win a PS4. That was probably some Baja Blast corrosion.
"The perfect amount of thermal paste" is my favorite inside joke. It cracks me up how much of a big deal everyone used to make about the exact amount of non-conductive paste was being used. It caused me to use way too little years back.

This was one satisfying repair. Whoever previously messed with that PS4 legit killed it, and you revived it. I was worried you weren't going to put gloves on too for a moment and then on they came. It's still a bit early but congrats on nearly reaching that 1 million subs mark.

@@YouNameItGaming well they still make the capacitors, you can use modern ones in old consoles, as long as it’s the right one, they will almost definitely be smaller though
I’m amazed at the amount of roaches in these computers and game consoles I see in lots of repair videos.

Wow, I repaired a broken PS4 once and considering the amount of things that you fixed and checked I must have been really lucky. On mine, the HDD wasn't attached correctly and needed a system reinstall, the disc drive was dented and wouldn't take a disc and the heat sink was 50% full of dust. I haven't been able to replace the disc drive, but I've fixed the other two problems and given it a bit of a clean and now I effectively have a digital PS4... That I've hardly used since I got a PS5. XD
Your my hero Steve always doing your best to bring back broken electronics
kind of a bummer that the entire system isnt gold.

I agree! That's why I didn't think it was a Taco Bell edition when I first saw it.
Very nice to see this special edition revived. Also the part when you release the motor of it's locked position was nice to learn never seen that before. Yes we want to see more special edition fixes 👍🏻 and yes the perfect amount makes a huge difference 🤣

You’re videos are really great and for the first time I was able to guess which diagnosis test you were going to run for each failed component before you said it…well at least up until the disc drive motor so I’ve still got more to learn. Thanks again

Excellent editing and pacing in this video, nice a succinct without losing any of your great personality. Great work here!!!!

Just the power supply, a motor for the disk drive, the hard drive, and replace missing parts. Eh, he replaced half of it. 😅
I was waiting for the gloves to come out LOL. I've cleaned some crashing PCs before from customers and found entire living colonies of roaches in side, and then of course the 100's of dead small ones and all that goes with that. It's some really nasty stuff. I've had two over the many years that were so disgusting that I told the client I am throwing it away and will just give them a newer one (low cost business class upgrades I always have on hand) in place of repairing the old one for less cost than the repair. It's obvious at that point they need it more than I do. Blech.
Beautiful as usual 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Always enjoy watching your videos. Good job

Taco Bell runs good giveaways. During this time and with the Xbox, I made significantly more trips to Taco Bell. Great gimmick for them. My favorite thing Taco Bell did, back in the day..was Godzilla stuff and I think Goosebumps.

So you got the golden case from that deal!!!! lol... I watch a lot of computer/electronic repair vids and one guy swears by this new ultrasonic cleaner he found that is large enough for a MB to fit in, a couple gallons of water some detergent and zzzzzzzzZZZZZZZZzzzzzzz for 30 minutes and I have to say the MBs are way cleaner! He has done it with power supplies and video cards. It is amazing the dirt in the rinse water that comes off these things. Just a wild suggestion for some of your more challenging cleaning jobs. - as always thanks for the ride along and the time it takes to do all the yada yada work involved. Jim
