Sinaloa has so much to offer, but people see the travel warnings and are concerned. Unless you're involved with drugs the chance of a tourist being involved in any violence is very very small. I've made a home in Mazatlán where we have the best of everything - food, people, beaches, weather. I urge people to take a two week vacation - spend a week riding el Chepe from Chihuahua to Los Mochis, make a stop in Creel to see the valley of the monks! Stay in Divisadero for a few days and see Copper Canyon (four times bigger than the Grand Canyon), and be sure to visit their adventure park where you can do the seven zip line event over the canyon! Enjoy the birria de chivo from the street food carts in El Fuerte. Then come down to Mazatlán and enjoy our beaches, beer, and ceviche for a week!

I have every intention on visiting Sinaloa!! I am so excited to visit more cities in Mexico, the places I have already been to, the people are so nice and the food is amazing!! Mexico is so beautiful!!
Thank you for doing an episode about Culiacán! It’s nice to see that other people can speak of the place that I was born and raise without bringing the negative issues of it! There is more to Sinaloa than narco cultura. Thanks Pati!
I don't know where I've been for the past 8 years, but I just discovered Pati and now I can watch her on Prime and on KZread whenever I want!
Congratulations for the James Beard award!! I'm from Culiacán and i like this episode!
Mexican food/cuisine is a mixture of many cultures with many cultures herbs and spices. Fact.
Good work on winning another James Beard Media Award for best Television Program, Fixed Location/Instructional Studio for this episode, you just continue to give us the goods of the delicious food from the states of Mexico.

Gracias infinitas Sr.Taniyama y Srita.Paty Jinich, por informar sobre lo excelente que tenemos en Culiacán, Sinaloa y, que quien nos visite lo podrá disfrutar. Sr.Taniyama. Usted es un ser grandioso.Es un orgullo tenerlo en Culiacán.

Oh I'm so glad you made this video. Just arrived to Culiacan. Flying in I was surprised by how much farmland there is
Thank u for showing the BEAUTY of MEXICO......
beautiful family Pati , you can tell they are very proud of there mother .
Such fresh healthy robust food from the land and the sea, exploding with all these different textures and vibrant flavors and colors like fireworks in the night time summer sky. How special it would be to share this moment with your best friend if only in a dream you won't remember when sunrise looms just beyond The horizon and fresh hot coffee holds your attention more insistently than the clinginess of a newborn kitten crying for their mother. Aye aye aye Don Gato mui bueno jo tequiero mucho Mami !!! 🐅
That was a sweet video Pati! It brought smiles and tears of joy! :)
Arriva Sinaloa!!!!

Que hermoso video 😍 saludos desde Culiacán!
Enchiladas de suelo mean floor enchiladas. Not ground enchiladas. They are named that because the woman who introduced the dish made/ sold them while sitting on the floor.
I am so blessed to have found you, I started watching you on PBS and fell in love! I moved from California, where I could find any kind of ingredients, to Billings MT. I’m so sad because I am unable to find a lot of distinct Mexican ingredients. Watching your show and watching you cook makes me so hungry for GOOD Mexican food! You are amazing as a person and a chef!

I really enjoyed watching this video!! I’ve wanted to visit Culiacan as my husband and his family are and were raised there. But as you said there is so much negative feedback I’ve heard. But your videos shows a beautiful reflection of this city. My brother still lives there and I look forward to one having the privilege of visiting. I hope to visit these places that you’ve shown in the video. Thank you. 😃👍

Most of the BEST SHRIMPS eaten in U.S are FROM SINALOA....
🙏Sweet
Even they used the term "ahogado" and the direct translation is "drowned". I would say wet not the the other. Example of this is to "discuss", would be to conversar or hablar. If you use "discutir" that would mean to argue, and would not be appropriate direct translation.
