On The Hunt Ep.34 Old School Auction

As you know I love all things trucks and the latest RB auction was just too large not to go out and take a closer look. Especially when I discovered there was a 70’s 359 Pete and a classic W900A winch tractor. Too many trucks to hit them all but I hope you enjoy the trucks I did pick out to take a closer look at. Also took the time to share the sell price in Canadian $$$ and even saw Anton’s International cabover that I reviewed on my “What’s For Sale” series, but I’m sure he wasn’t too happy what it sold for.
Hope you enjoy the video and thanks for all the comments, suggestions, and support!
Keep in mind, I know a little about a lot but not an expert in anything … just doing the best I can, learning as I go ... I do all my own stunts
Enjoy watching the progress of this ongoing Peterbilt 359 restoration the Kenworth W900A Smokey and the Bandit tribute project, and the upcoming #IronDuke Kenworth K100 cabover I’m planning to build up like the one used in the 70’s trucking movie High Ballin’ with Jerry Reed and Peter Fonda.

I love how he just cares so much about Trucks and respects other people's property, that he takes the time and closes the door, even though he had nothing to do with it!

Twin sticks garage love All Those Trucks and Videos Keep Up the good 👍 work billy Lizza Uniontown pa USA
That international is nice👍 great price too...
A Pork Chop express or if you have ever seen Christmas Comes to Willow Creek The Yellow Bird
Maybe one day I'll stumble across a solid salvageable 359. I'd like to set one aside to build, I have a killer truck in mind. A 260"-266" wheelbase, high top sleeper, and an 8V-92TA backed by an 18 speed and 3.31:1 gears.
I think the ramps on the back of the frame are for lowbed trailers with removable goosenecks
In the classic at 28:54 those switches are for the cries control, an on off and set resume plus an up or down in speed, we have the same thing in the Pete in my profile pic
OUCH 🤕🤕...lot of headroom...I spirit my coffee out.. LOL 😂😂
That rear crank window is a cool feature, they would do that cause some guys would add and remove the bunks for different things just made it a simpler job
Glad you gave a dump truck a little love.
That yellow Pete is a factory color mayfield dairy yellow
Woo hoo morning twin sticks family...better late then never Mark always says..🎅🤶⛄🌲🦌...better get back to it
That daycab western star was a good lookin truck. Now that 900l on the other hand is minty.
Looks great I drive a freight shaker with a c12 cat. Moved a 110 foot conveyor with it today. over 1 million miles, also has a crane on it so it's got 20k hours on it just running that lol. Gutless and smokey but always runs
Good video.
That deal you saw on the shifter one of the buttons is to turn the jakes on and off and the other is to turn the cruise control on and off i hate that crap makes the shifter to clunky love watching on the hunt love looking at old iron
The roll-up rear window on the KW was available with the sleeper. My '73 has the small roll up window and a 36" sleeper.
All things trucks is the way to go. Love all of your videos and look forward to every Thursday for a new release. Keep up the good work. P.s instead of porkchop express, you should look into doing yellow bird
Good morning bud 👍✌️🙏
My boss at the farm has a 358 with a 15 and a 318 that has one of those OEM glitter knobs
I hope you get the Jake's working on snowman soon that's going to sound sweet
Beautiful machines Here in Brazil the strongest we can have is Used In road train 9 axes with 2 or 3 joints Total weight 75 tons I mean volvo 540 hp
I would love to see a pork chop express! I know freightshaker's aren't as popular as the PACCAR trucks, but I've always liked Freightliner. FLD120 to me is the GOAT.
16:28 caught yourself there😂😂
The pork chop express would be a sweet truck to build either that or the blue mule from white line fever
I loved my DDd-16
The old ones start right up every time!

not even close , i love old trucks as much as anyone but the new ones are infinitely better! especially in the last few years , they've actually gotten a lot of the problems figured out... i've put 300,000 miles on my 2021 kenworth and the only thing we've done is tires and 3 shocks ... the Apu had an alternator go out recently and my espar has given a little trouble but the truck has been perfect... oh yeah, i replaced the batteries recently too ! if i were driving my old 1992 or 1995 379 Pete's there would've been a bunch of stuff needed to be fixed in the past two years... and i'd be getting 4 less miles per gallon
Twinstick Thursday baby 😁
The dead batteries in the Westernstars are probably the battery disconnect is shut off! It’s located beside the drivers seat right when you open the door. As far as the Kenworth steps go most passenger side steps had tool box doors in them and I’ve seen originals in all 3 position’s step to the front to the back and centered. I like them centered myself but to the back like you said is the most common. The Winch truck you said was a 10 speed is actually a 15 speed, blue splitter button an 8LL uses the same shift knob but I doubt that’s what’s in a winch truck. I love your on the hunt videos especially the salvage yard ones!!! Keep ‘em coming thanks for all you do

Yeah I'm aware the blue button is a deep 15 but there was not air toggle on the dash (only the 5th wheel and diff) so I just assumed it was a 10
I love watching you prowl junkers and auctions more than the mechanic part. I love prowling through truck and car junk yards tho it might not be good for my mental health because I can think of an idea for every build on each truck. Pls go check out sandon bc neer kaslo off highway 31
I would love to see you do a rubber duck Mack or a Marmon.
That yellow one is from a company called Scotlynn out of Ontario
Boa noite amigo esse amarelo tá bonito na sua mão fica mais bonito ainda.
those switches on the shifter are the cruise control
Call me a weirdo, but I would drive that yellow Pete389 with a big smile on my face, it looks badass, but very comfortable to clock up some high miles behind the wheel. I would be sad about how quiet it is, but that is better than driving with a headache from the drone of a loud exhaust. Credit where credit is true, it is good to see truckers still trying to make new modern trucks look cool, and whoever put the time and money in to that one, has done a great job with it
Those stack brackets are factory kw brackets, and that freightliner is an fld severe duty
That's a mud pan on that gravel truck 4 haul dredging mud
I had a few trucks that never had heat sheilds at all Never got a ticket, but that was a while ago. 90s-2005
Great video. Sorry your friend truck sold for $10,000 less. Keep up the great videos
Theres a switch by the seat to shut the power off
Debate on a newer rug is the same as on a pickup. It goes into limp mode so you can get it to the side of the road safely to wait for the wrecker
Mark, I know the feelings that you go through when you enter the cabin on a rig, those stories the truck wants to tell you is on your mind! Its not something that one person could simply just jot down on paper or some recorder, you just have to feel it! I am going to get even more stupid than many of my long winded comments..... yeah, I am going to say that should I ever fall into enough money to wallpaper your shop inside and out ..... that I would buy some large piece of property and just build roads all over it. I would put those old rigs back to work again. I would get some of those channels you see to come over and build me roads so I could drive one of those rigs again, since I can not ever get a licence again with my health, age, and any other reason, they stop you from driving. If lucky enough, I would even have a truck stop cafe, with the shop on the side that did some roadside repairs, had a shower for the men to wash up and maybe a small tv room for the different movies that guys sat and watched/slept in the chair. Just a whole bunch of memories I have had, of when I did drive for a living. Yeah.... if you want to dream, then go big as its only a dream, that a man could relive his memories in. Since I must be crazy to even think it could happen, I would go to your place that you pick.... and have you help me pick out some of these trucks, and because of it being a auction place, buy all the equipment needed to do stuff like this is, in my dream. I have to dream Mark.... I am a dead man crawling now
I like seeing the older trucks. Do you ever see any Mack superliners or R models at the auctions there? Thanks for sharing.
Love your videos twin stick
28:50 I think that cruise control.
Lol roll down the window to adjust your winch line so it wraps right.
Without a doubt that yellow Pete was factory painted we had 4 brand new 2017 389heavy haul day cabs same color
I have a whole box of stock glitter knobs. I would be glad to send you since you have such.I'm flying about guitar.Knabs love you can still get them

Ah that’s mighty kind of you … send me an email to twinstickgarage@gmail.com
I miss the 1985 359 I used to drive.
The school bus rock truck at the last did look familiar too we had one with a sleeper on it stolen from a truck stop in California a few years later who had it it was laying over in the ditch too you would think they would remove our name from the truck and trailer to when i got throw the accident they did have it back on its wheels why did i know it was ours yes i stop to talk to the state troops too we just had it towed to auction after we got it bad
Sounds like Ole peg is rubbing off on you at 16:27 ha!
That old 359 sure looks familiar🤔 Haha
in 1980 kw came out with new steps both sides
That's actually a 15 speed transmission because it has that blue splitter just telling you. Excellent video by the way.

Yeah I’m aware the blue button is typically a 15 deep reduction but if you look close there’s only two air switches on the dash (5th and diff) which led me to believe it was likely a 10 🤔
I enjoy the "On the hunt" vids!
My kind of video!
I know nothing about big rigs but really enjoy your channel. Next time could you also include the miles or hours on the rigs. If not I understand thank you
Would love to see you do a Pork Chop Express!
I’d like to see you restore an old Kenworth. Something like a 50’s-60’s needle nose.
Absolutely love your on the hunt videos Mark and your dialogue and knowledge is great. I could walk around a yard like those for days.
My Dad’s ‘74 W925 had a roll up bunk crawl-through from factory 22:02
Ol peg n leggin would love thoes c500s ❤ from pnw oregon
