On The Hunt Ep.26 Six Figure Lemon Peter

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

#onthehunt #twinsticks #twinstickgarage
On this episode I head back to my favorite auction yard to dream about more truck I can’t afford but it never hurts to look. You never know, maybe a 379 will not get noticed by the masses and I can pick up another truck. If nothing else, its still fun to see what’s out there, what’s new and what they are selling for in this heated market. Lots of Kenny’s, Macks, Shakers and Stars on this hunt followed by a 379 gravel truck that really caught my eye and finally a 379 hood project truck from the early 2000’s with a 3406 cat and 8” pipes … I would’ve bought for $40k but you won’t believe what it ended up selling for.
Hope you enjoy the video and thanks for all the comments, suggestions, and support!
Keep in mind, I know a little about a lot but not an expert in anything … just doing the best I can, learning as I go ... I do all my own stunts

    Wrong. The engine, dash and bunk weren’t addressed but the rock guard is there to protect the paint and body from rock chips and rust. Neither of you understand that is deliberate, not a poor quality body and paint job. Rust and chips won’t be an issue on this thing.

    That "ethor injection" switch you pointed out at 5:10 isn't a injector, it's a switch to manually start a regeneration, it's a DEF thing where it burns all the gunk in its system

    def is injected anytime the engine is running and the exhaust is up to temp, a dpf regen is where the exhaust system is fueled with diesel to get to 1000-1200 degrees to burn off soot (oil) and turn it to ash. there are two systems not one.

    If you are all highway driving it'll regen on the fly, but stopping n going gunks the DPF up and you'll be doing parked regens. Force regens are fun too when the switch won't activate it

  • @youtubeisawesome2487

    @youtubeisawesome2487

    @@kylederry5031 yes it will regen when driving, most of the soot is from idling and oil bypassing the rings, if you have a fault or the dpf isnt in the needed to regen range it will not do a parked regen, then i and my laptop show up and take your money. stop and go isnt the main culpret of soot, anything more than three mins of idling is not recommended, everyone would rather pay thousands in aftertreatment repairs than buy a 12000 dollar apu to stay comfortable, and yes i hate the aftertreatment crap.

They're model CRD92,93 almost exclusively 40k pound rears and while still pretty regular on Mack's today were definitely at their peak with the camelback. As for the shifter in that older Mack (pretty sure it's an RD688S model) that's a Mack only thing too as you figured for Mack manufactured transmissions. Source, am a dealer

    Thanks enjoyed that . You were talking about gravel hauling. That’s how I started with the ford Louisville six wheelers with 225 cats 5 X 4 trans . Everyone was driving them in the 70’s . Moved up to R 600 Mack 4X4 pulling a axel dump trailer. Then to pulling Lo boy trailer 700 Mack 4x4 trans with 318 Detroit with twin rider stacks you could hear me coming a mile away had air assist steering. Was the hardest job I had those chains and binders wore me out ! Those were the days . Pulled that loboy for two years . The paving contractor then bought a ford and Talbert loboy it was like dying and going to heaven. Ford had roof top AC ps 325 cat with 13 speed. Worked there 3more years . Lots of good memories. You knew you were bad Ass floating twin sticks in those days ! Enjoy you rebuilding your trucks . The excavator and paving contractor I worked for demanded you know about what your driving so you knew what was wrong when you broke down and could tell them we had two way radios in the trucks . Plus in the spring you had to come in and help get your truck ready to work .

    On that bleu 2018 W900, Funny to see allot of familiar parts...I had the European counterpart of her, a 2018 Daf XF106 Superspacecab. Steering wheel in the Kenny is a pre 2013 model tough. The brakepod's...nothing new, Germany based axel manufacturer (who actually makes these exact axles) fabri0them 15 years ago already as a trailer axle

    Rear air disc brakes... bet they will become standard in the future, much like disc brakes on cars, vans, and pickup trucks.

    3:30 I think that the Kenny might have had a Custom Steering wheel, considering the Chrome Tanks and Rims, and they took it off. Maybe it belonged to the Driver. And then they simply took one that was in the shop and slapped it on.
