Distant Shores TV I’ve been watching since I bought your dvd special pack years ago. I sail as well and have definitely enjoyed inspired by you both. (I’ve only sailed a couple thousand nautical miles from the UK to the Med, but Atlantic plans are brewing. 😉). Thanks again, love the videos!

Navigating in The Bahamas is all about the color of the water, spend a little time in a small boat, checking the depth sounder while watching the color change and you will know the depth to about a foot within a very short time. Fair Winds!!!

Captivating viewing from experienced pros. Not something everybody would try. Like your anchor too, mainly because we’ve just spec’d exactly that one for our 14t tri. Hope we’ve made the right decision, but the fact you’re using one gives us much more confidence.

Where we met you. Really loved that area. Can't wait to go back. We toyed with the idea of selling everything and buying a boat but not sailors and hubby not 100% on sailing. So we let others do it for us! Safe sailing and hope you sell your lovely boat soon.

Reallly enjoyed seeing the "on-purpose" run aground. Would have enjoyed some discussion about your thrusters and checking/cleaning them. Cheers

I just signed up for sailing lessons in december and i’m hoping one day to sail through the caribbean with my wife. I’m happy i found your video. Afrer i take my classes, i’m sure i will have a lot of questions for you.

Love your videos, something about you, you find it very fascinating that you can beach the boat. I don’t know if it’s only me but I’d rather stay a float. Cheers

The Exumas in the Bahamas are so beautiful. Those variable draft Southerlys are amazing and give you a lot of options to adventure in shallow waters. I wonder how many times you get people thinking "looks like another dumb yachtie ran a ground" and stop by to see if you need help. Great video Paul & Cheryl. Thanks!

LOL yes we get people coming by to check on us often. In that shallow area the natives run through in shallow skiffs and were worried for our safety. Such nice people in the Bahamas!!! Another problem we have is yachties following us since they assume we have local knowledge and are 6 feet deep draft.

Good job as always guys. I was wondering in heavy seas and tropical gales how does the Southerly keel compare for handling and steadiness compared to a stationary keel in something like an Amel? Also curious how the interior quality compares.

Nice boat in great condition in paradise. What more could you ask for? Hmm, let me think. Best time to beach is slightly after high tide (peak) so the boat can easily be re-floated on the peak of high tide.
