On living together without marriage | J. Krishnamurti

Ojai 1983 - Question #3 from Question & Answer Meeting #1
'Do you think a man and a woman should or should not live together without marriage?'
---
This channel is managed by the Krishnamurti Foundation Trust, UK, and by the Krishnamurti Foundation of America.
The role of the foundations was described by Krishnamurti when he said, 'The foundations will see to it that these teachings are kept whole, are not distorted, are not made corrupt. They will not give rise to any sectarian spirit in their activities... nor create any kind of place of worship around the teachings or the person.'
We maintain extensive archives of Krishnamurti's original works and all four Krishnamurti foundations are actively engaged in the publication of material in various forms.
Our videos contain thousands of subtitles in more than 25 languages, translated by volunteers from all over the world. If you would like to help us with translating subtitles, please contact us at digital@kfoundation.org

Essence of all writtings and speaking of Jiddu Krishnamurthy is just to be aware about thoughts movement and that alone is the pure awakening , meditation and intellectual and observer itself is the supreme reality/supreme being, that is the essence of being . Wow! high level nirvana . 🙏

If i.can say with humility, Inaccurate description maam, being aware of thoughts is one immediate step And there is a question whether being saare of thoughts is related to awakening? Movement of thought is one And movement of awakening is another And Are there levels of nirvana? Or nirvan That's it! Also While observing thoughts The thought observes itself That is the thought is the observer Since thought is related to time memory, experience and knowledge It is not the supreme eternal reality which jk talks about...

It’s not ‘just aware’, it’s something more then just people sometimes spend or dedicate their life to have it.

JK, lighted up our inner darkness, the strong under current of thought. The only penetrative way of seeing oneself, then we can be free. Thanks Jiddu Krishnamurti.

I'm never sure about JK. Turning his face away from the man from the man raising questions at the beginning and then just interrupting him seems discourteous. After watching a few videos of JK's talks, he gives me the impression that he rates his own thoughts very highly, and often displays signs of irritation, impatience and even rudeness towards others.

"You are helping me and I am helping you. You are learning from me and I am learning from you not to create images." "if anybody says some- thing to you, you are tremendously attentive, not to any prejudices, but you are attentive to your conditioning. " Please go deeper into his teachings. Everything is an opportunity to be attentive of how you condition yourself. Ask yourself why you think you can / have to create an image of this man. Watch how you react when this image you had, now changed through watching the video. See the desire you held to leave this comment. It isn't about what someone else says / does, its about being attentive of how your mind responds. And helping others becoming attentive again, too.

The observer is the observed. I see that behaviour as maintaining a no bullshit relationships, thats how we behave with our best friends or with people with whom we are extremely close to.There is no superficialities when it comes to JK.

He consistently for half a century only spoke and requested people to watch the contradictions which thought create Hence enabling thought only to.function at its right place

They were trying to understand the truth about themselves (at least some of them while others, they were probably just trying to gain more knowledge and entertain themselves). This man dedicated his life showing it to us. Alas, very few saw it, if any. They didn't really listen. The scope is to set man free, from constant inner contradictions, suffering, conflict, violence, stupidity. Only then love and righteousness will effortlessly take over the world. It is actually the only way we'll turn things around and build a compassionate society. Otherwise, we'll just keep on living meaningless lives..
