If you string with a Hybrid of a Poly and Multi when should you restring since the Poly loses tension sooner than a Multi.
Thank you Joshua for the question.

I string at 8-10lbs less on poly cross. NRG2 mains at 55/ Luxilon 4G crosses at 45. 4G hold tension well and if I were to play with full bed poly, I'd string the poly main at 48. The multi main however, needs to be strung tighter for it is more powerful. I find the comfort and power level balanced at 55/45. That's just me. Enjoy! I appreciate your videos and feedback. Stay well.

Personally, I get about 50% more life in a gut main/poly cross set up than I get in a fully poly set-up. Since I'm a pretty flat hitter, and using an 18x20 frame, that translates into 20 hours with a full ALU Power string job, and 30 hours with an ALU Power cross and VS Gut main stringing. Your "mileage" may vary, but I've found that ratio pretty accurate over time.

I think this question depends on the level of player you are. It's not necessarily the tension loss that determines when to restring, it's that poly will go dead in about 3-4 weeks after stringing. This depends on how often you play and how heavy you hit. If you are an advanced player, you will notice this immediately because you will have to exert more energy to hit the ball. If you are a beginner to intermediate, you may not notice it at all because you are basically patty-caking your shots. I wouldn't even recommend poly to beginners because if you are not trying to hit with heavy topspin, there's no real advantage to poly. Also the string is so stiff that you could injure yourself. For me, I switch between two identical rackets and will restring them about once every 1.5 months.

That's exactly right. An advanced player will know when the strings need to be replaced simply due to the fact that given a normal rally ball feed, they can no longer control the range of their shots.

5:36 You didn't say what is a good tension for this string combination. Do you know what is the good tension difference between the main/cross for this pair?

In reverse hybrid (gut/multi on mains) u can actually restring the crosses!

If you make sure to not hybrid with edged polys that cut into the other string and you look for a multi or syn gut that has a similar tension loss percentage as the round poly, you should have a balanced string bed for as long as possible... E.g. 4G + NXT or Max Power + Xcel

I string my racket with hyper g in main, gosen og sheep in cross, break the main hyper g in like 3 sessions. If I take longer, I usually break the cross then.

what gauges? How does it play compared to a full bed of hyper g? I really liked the spin a full bed of hyper g gave on groundies but my serve felt pretty dead so I switched to other stuff.

In an interview, Medvedev said he wears a new pair of shoes for no more than 3 or 4 matches. My question is what happened to those shoes pros wear after a tournament? Do they just throw them away? Thanks 🙏
