Except he was not evil. Just misguided. That is akin to calling IRL soldiers evil because they followed orders and killed people. Yes, you can make an argument that USSR soldiers were evil. Or Nazi soldiers etc. But in the end, it is all just blind devotion to their nation, whatever it is. Labeling “evil” to soldiers is a bit idealistic morality-wise. Yes. Accountability should exist. But morality is a very different thing when talking about brainwashed and radicalized people who’s job is literally “kill people”. So, in short - calling everybody on the other side of the conflict evil is not only wrong, but also extremely hypocritical and naive.

And let’s not forget that considering he’s now married to the richest woman on earth. It would be like if that same alien married Elon Musk’s daughter or something lol. It’s pretty understandable if you think about it, asides needing to loom in on viltrumites that are also on the moon. There is going to be a number of superheroes and villains who will want to see if this is the real Omni-Man and follow him. The moon would provide a base of operation that almost no one, asides other Viltrumites and Cecil can reach. Plus, those who put trackers on him will believe their trackers are going haywire if the signal comes from the moon. This also provides Cecil with surveillance on him and view his activities, while being able to better control Nolan in the sense that he can order Nolan to intervene in absolute dire emergencies. Such as if there is a Viltrumite attack.

To be fair, history shows how much human betrays humans. So we punishing others for what we do on a daily basis is kind of a hyprocate move. Presidents murder more humans than any other threat on the planet.

I think it'd feel horrendous if it happened in real life, but I've always felt one of the main question the comic poses is what is the point of imprisoning this person? Of imprisoning wrongdoers? Is there a better way? This is shown both positively (Planetina), I would say neutrally with Omni-Man, and negatively (Dinosaurus)... This is all personal opinion of course, but to me, that's one of the major themes this fictional comic explores

And then risking his life and saving humanity and the universe afterwards. Let me give you an example: A Nazi soldier burned a village. He then regretted his choices, went right against Hitler and won the war for the benefit of all of man-kind. Redemption is a thing. Are you really that naive, or just vile (if you think that pardon and redemption should not exist).

Well what other choice could he have? That’s like a company having an employee who causes over 50% of profits alone, best worker and never late. Has all of the sudden done something horrible but came back from that. You’d still have to punish him but you couldn’t get rid of him. In this case Cecil can’t get rid of Omni man because he can single handily defend the earth from most threats.
