I don’t know what to say? Can’t believe they are both gone. Olivia, as many others have stated, did a fabulous job of almost making it seem like Karen was there singing the song! RIP to two amazing women😢

Beautiful women with amazing voices. Now they're both gone but their music will live forever

Olivia isn't often mentioned as a great singer, but to me she was/is excellent. So in-tune! Of course, Karen was from another world.

Absolutely beautiful Olivia. Karen would be proud.

I can’t believe Olivia Newton John has been gone almost 2 years. She was part of my childhood.

I never get tired of listening to either of these great ladies.

@victorhugosilvaescalante8739 they had wanted to for years, but both were on such tight schedules it sadly never happened. And Karen was so young when she passed. So they just kinda suddenly (& shockingly) ran out of time to do it. One of the saddest things to me is seeing Olivia half run out of the church at the end of Karen's funeral and before the casket is put into the hearse. She was an honorary pallbearer for Karen. So, so sad for her to pass so young.

Best friends in life, reunited in heaven. Now, singing the most beautiful duets.

I am a huge Karen Carpenter fan and I also love Olivia too! This is so touching.

It's unfair to compare two singers who are good in their own right. They were friends and ONJ is just singing one of KC's songs in remembrance of her, not trying to sound like her.

You are EXACTLY right! If people hadn't kept doing that comparison crap and Keren's Mom would have showed Karen love, she would have had anorexia. That Epicac (off the market) is what killed her along with having no control of her own God-given life.

I know what you mean. Sadly enough her Daughter Chloe battled Anorexia as well as Addiction. She got well but Karen didn't. Oh here's another fun fact Skeeter Davis's "The End Of The World" would later inspire "Hopelessly Devoted To You" for Grease. Kimberley Walsh of the UK Group Girls Aloud who are the most successful Group to come out of Reality TV did her version of "Rainy Days & Mondays" on a TV Special.

Karen is looking down from heaven smiling at your performance honoring her Liv. So touchingly beautiful. There are people God put in the world to beautify it , and Karen and Olivia are two of the absolute finest.

And Petula Clark was a good friend of Karen's, as well. She had such a natural, caring personality that could be everybody's best friend.

This video wasn't uploaded to create rivalry between two very successful and completely different singing talents. It's here, demonstrating Olivia Newton-John's appreciation for Karen Carpenter voice.

pure class, dont see that anymore these days.

No other singer can duplicate that depth of feeling that Karen had.

I agree. Who could have done a better job? "Hopelessly devoted to you" vs "Close to you". Both were exceptional at emoting the depth of a song.

Yes, KD might be the only person I can think of that could do justice to some of Karen's classics. She recorded a version of the Joni Mitchell song "Help Me" which is really fantastic. But honestly, in my opinion, Karen's music should just be left alone, some things are so perfect that they shouldn't be messed with.

The one word that comes to mind when speaking of Our Karen is "tone". Karen owned a tone that will never be matched. Godspeed for one of the purest voices to ever live.

I heard her sing in vegas and the hollywood bowl and the Ampitheater AND The long beach terrace theater which i enjoyed the most w their christmas songs in november 1978! Merry xmas darling in person!!! What a great evening! I met Karen at our dentist in Downey in oct 1976!! She was so nice to me!

None can match her voice. In the 50 years since Karen came on the scene, not a single voice has even really come close to sounding so utterly crystal pure. Her instrument was simply one of a kind.

Very nice rendition, and Olivia does the song justice, in her tribute to her sister, Karen.

As a kid, I remember reading how Karen could record her singing in 1 take. That impressed me even to this day at age 62. I'll always remember her death as it happened in my Army AIT at Ft Eustis, Virginia. Her death was my biggest memory.

The best version of that song next to the original I ever heard, no wonder another angel singing it ! RIP Karen and Olivia 😂😂😂😂❤❤❤❤❤ ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

First time I've seen this. Olivia and Karen very beautiful classy women. And obviously very good friends. ty for posting.

Now they can due the duets. Singers we have lost to never hear new works from is growing. Losing the best. RIP to all.

Karen Carpenter was in a league of her own. Correction... IS in a league of her own. Karen crossed over in 1983 and it is now 2020 but so far I've yet to hear of another who's as brilliant of a singer as Karen Carpenter IS.

If just have been so hard for Olivia to watch her daughter suffer anorexia after losing her friend Karen to the same dreadful disease. Thankfully her daughter recovered and got better.

I need to hear her SAY more, not sing more. Olivia is the only close friend who's consistently dissed participating in any books or documentaries on the Life of KAC. You know they approached her for her comments... got bupkis🤔 ..just odd.
