Would be funny if that was in a show where people are trying to impress with a parrot and when they're in pain, that's the only time a parrot says a line right OW! HURHURHUR!/KAKAKA! That's not funny! Yes it is! silence*

For a tip to stop the biting, do not say 'no' or speak at all. When you speak, interact, or even look at a bird, they take it as a praise and will keep doing whatever makes you do the above. Such as biting. Best thing to do is to take away your hand, and look away quietly for a bit. Or, take the bird and put them away from you and leave. They crave your attention, and doing the opposite when they do bad behavior, teaches them that when they 'bite', they'll get ignored.

PlazieWolf you're right! once I teach my budgie to bite and it was funny :D but not after it was almost bleeding and woundy hands. he died now,ill miss his behavior and him;(

Thank you for the information!I have a Quaker Parrot and he does the same thing he will say step up and then chew my finger. So next time he does this I will try as you said.Hope it works I have been trying to figure out how to get him to stop.

la patata, I have seen other videos with well-behaved monk parrots, so maybe you are right, and it depends on owner too. But, since I am not aware of why this particular bird is biting, I hesitate to make a statement as to an opinion. However, an update video in which the owner shows progress would have been nice.

la patata I have a U2 and had a budgie when a child, but not monk parakeet. They are all different! So I know next to nothing about monk parakeets! I believe you. I think every bird has their individual personality plus there is their relationship with their owners. My "too" knows what "no" means (usually chewing up a chair or desk when I was out of the room for a sec) and she stops it as long as she realizes I mean it. I think a bird who bites needs to go back in the cage for a timeout. Have to be more than "ow!" as a reaction to misbehavior or roughness. I have to train one of my cats to play nice. I tell her, "ouch, that hurts!" And "no!" She backs off a little, but it is so much a part of who she is, she likes to be a boss cat even to me! She thinks it is play. So I avoid her claws! I pet her and keep it short and sweet before the claw grab. Other cats are totally different or react differently to being told "no" so I think it is an individual thing with birds or other animals.

Quakers always laugh after biting it's funny lol my one used to do it lol

When I had a Quaker, he bit my mom and then laughed hysterically, I miss that trouble maker.

Watching this made me cry, but in a good way... he sounds exactly like my Doby did, especially that laugh! Miss him every day... thanks for posting this, it actually really helped me to hear that voice, even if it was coming out of a different Quaker. :)

Mines flew away when a dog scared him 2 1/2 years ago :( I still miss Nicolas, we got him for Christmas. He was also in the works of talking, a very obedient bird. Let's cry together :,(

I wish my Toby would talk. All he does now is laugh, scream, whistle, kiss noises, sad noises, and coughs every time someone else does. So when I have the cold he is always coughing with me.

Lol!! How cute!! I also had a quaker parrot, named Bud, for over 12 years, and she was super smart, picked up on ALLLL TYPES OF VOCAB!! Lmao!. My daughter had to be home schooled, for a month due to pneumonia, and everytime the teacher walked in to our house, Bud would LITERALLY SCREAM, f*** you b****, and repeat asshole asshole asshole for 5 minutes straight!! And that's just the beginning!! She was an amazingly smart, but super sweet bird! I miss her!!

4 years ago I had one of these birds until the cat killed it. His name was Marty, he was awesome, and even did his own eagle screech.

Eduardo Oceguera Died from an eagle? Is your bird free flighted? If it wasn’t you really should’ve kept him on a harness (I’m assuming you’re outside). Anyways I’d say that’s a smart eagle. Talking advantage of the human raised parrot. Isn’t hardwired instinctually to flee from it as it’s normal prey would. Well before I sound like an utter jerk if I haven’t already I’m sorry for the loss of your Quaker.

Mine almost died from a hawk. He got out and was chased across the neighborhood. Finally my grandma and I caught him. He’s never flown since. Never leaves his cage unless someone picks him up. Used to fly around the house.

When I had a Quaker alot of the time she would let you gently cuddle her, but then she would bite you and then mock you screaming 🤣

oliver sounds like my quaker, coco AKA "nosy" when he talks and yes laughing after he bites me and saying ouch or owiieee after biting me. sometimes he can be a bart simpson with wings. what makes them fun to be with. he's 14 1/2 yrs old now and going strong. i understand 25 yrs can be their lifespan. enjoy our times with our babies. i do have a plan for my daughter to take my fids if i pass away before they do. they'll be with someone they know for comfort. they will grieve,only time can fix that.love my fids to the end of the world.

Ours is going on at least 23 soon...was my late brothers bird who died in 2000...we've had this bird since I was 2! And now I'm feeding it! At 23! So me and him are the same age almost lol

I have a quaker. To break him of bitting, get a small towel and grab him everytime he reaches out to bite. He will then know you and trust you. Quaters are very smart birds and you need to earn thier trust. Once you do, they are very loyal birds. Mine (Scooter) will sleep on my chest under my chin, while I watch TV. If they start grooming you...like grabbing your hair...that is a sign of love. They groom thier mates.
