Those look delicious! They remind me of my Yiayia's koulouria but I think she made those with butter (LOTS of butter!! -- 😋). Can't wait to make these when the weather cools down a little. (Too hot for oven right now 🥵) Love you Akis! Keep cooking for us!

Oh wow never knew u could add alcohol to koulourakia not sure if my mum did when I was growing up, should duck out to the shop and grab me a bottle, love how u roll them into a ball then poke them with your finger to create a hole as opposed to rolling them out.

Are the measurements in Greece different to australian measurements, 😊🙋‍♀️🕯

Why the liqueur? Does it give flavour or does it help with the chemistry?

Greeks, Portuguese. We add Liqueur to everything, even fruit salad! Makes everything taste extra! 😜

Hey Akis, can I omit the brandy, or replace it with something else you suggest ? I would love to make these for my kids, but not sure that the brandy will be any good for them 😁

This easy peasy 😁I went through the comments and it kinda does sound strange to use the alcohol in the cookie dough. In my house hold alcohol doesn't exist😅

I would imagine you could omit and add water instead but alcohol evaporates in cooking/baking, if that is a concern.

I work in a convent. The nuns don't have liquor. Can I use white or rose wine instead of the brandy?
