Before the compact fluorescent energy-saving lamp became relatively standardized among most manufacturers - using spiral tubes and electronic instant-start ballasts - there were a wide variety of other designs used. These are some of the more unusual lamps I've collected over the years. Some are in regularly used in fixtures and others are just kept as collectibles.
