Malita 1600 Planer. I bought it about a month ago, it cost me $45. It was a very old model And took me a lot of time to find the blade for it. It took me about a week to go to restore.

We recently lumbered a 36" maple, a 36" white ash, and a 32" pecan. After drying, we tried planing with a Rigid (Home Depot) 13" planer with 2 HSS knives kzread.infoUgkxIzvvTi3_Qc8JnVdYYRJCvuoDC4QjTzeL . This job was clearly too much for that machine. The pecan was particularly difficult, due to heavy mineral deposits, and a sharp pair of HSS knives would be consumed by a mere 3 boards. We were also having lots of problems from chip bruising, due to poor dust collection. The shavings came off like straw and jammed in the 4" hose.We bought the DW735 simply to be able to run carbide blades, which worked brilliantly for the pecan. However, we found it to be a much, MUCH nicer machine. It was far more rigid than the "Rigid" planer, and far more accurate as well. But what I liked most about it was the dust feed. This machine has its own blower, which shreds the "straw" like shavings as they come off the cutting head and helps boost the shavings into the dust collection system. No more clogs! It's also nicely sealed so that the internals stay quite clean. This is just a well tempered machine that's a delight to use. It literally cut the labor in half. Just another example of getting what you pay for.
He’s not going to rewind that motor. Only Mr Electricity rewinds motors. And he’s in, like, Samoa or the Philippines or somewhere. Respect, young man. You are the real deal.

Definitely not from the Philippines, im a Filipino and their faces are different as well as their language, but still mr electricity is an asian😃
Great Job ! From scrap to a fully working tool with years of useful life in it.
It’s so great to see a tool restored rather than being dumped in a landfill. Good job.
Just one word -- Masterpiece !!!

I love that you took the effort to rebuild the Staetor on the engine, and everything. It's so uncommon to see old motors refurbished down to this level of completeness! I was half expecting you to soak the coils in something like Vinegar to polish them up just a little.
Beautiful restoration
this is beyond the usual restoration i've ever seen in your videos, daaammmn! awesome
Excellent. But, just my personal taste, I would have liked to have seen it refinished in the current Makita blue. But I nitpick. Amazing job!!!
Congratulations, great job, your very talented Sir, thank you for sharing.
I can't believe they let those wires come like that from the factory. That's mind blowing. Although it's old-school and well made and metal. The amount of effort you went through to fix that is unbelievable. 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏 well done buddy.
Good job…a little disappointed you didn’t paint it Milwaukee blue…😢
Great restoration mate. Quite an old planer but you revived it back to it’s former glory.
Great job!, especially the motor. During disassembly I thought the motor was toast. You brought it back to life .
Extraordinary work! I was very impressed with the level of care and attention to detail shown in this project. I don’t recall anyone taking the windings apart and repairing and replacing the leads as done here. Even the way the foot was leveled and squared up was well done. I also don’t recall anyone else using caster glue either. Truly a master craftsman!
Between you and My Mechanics, you guys can fix the world lol. Well done
Does a massive restore, hits a nail on his reclaimed board, haha. Awesome vid! You got a new sub!!
You are a master of restoration! I learned a lot from you! Thank you for your dedication!
You got the planer looking good, and working, too. That is an awesome job. Well done.
Отличная работа мастер!

Well done. Makita is my favorite brand.
That was a amazing restoration. The old Makita planer was very beaten up, but you brought it back. Even fixing the commutator and stator. Excellent job!

Back when Makita stuff was well made
Nicely done👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅✅✅✅✅
Very nice restoration job. Well done.
Pretty fancy job on the electrics!
Pretty integrate refurbishing effort I'd say. But nice work and outcome. I was really surprised the armature contacts could be cut that deep and still have connections to the windings. Color and labels were not the best. But the final results made up for them. Thumbs Up!
THANKIOU
interesting project, perfect restoration👍
Nice work
Потрясающе! Я впечатлен! Мастер Золотые руки!

Neat job. Well done.
Good work
Ficou muito bem feito...👏👏👏
Your work is superb. I would like to see a change in the WORKING TABLE if it is possible with you. Something like plain WHITE ply or something PLAIN SMOOTH WITHOUT spaces (i really don't know the types but just a suggestion, something like that). It will keep FOCUS on the parts, BRiGHTEN your work place, and easier to CLEAN. You are brilliant and may God bless your hands.
Great job, now you have a tool that gonna last a long time
Well done dear!
Вот это настоящая реставрация! Это другое дело!
Great restoration, subscribed.

Beatiful 😍
Good job!!
Very good
Superb job, buddy! Just subbed!
Amazing work you've put in this tool! Do you know what year it is from?
again an outstanding restoration of this heavenly abused planer👌. You use insulation paint and insulation paper for the motorwheel. It is the first time that i saw this. Do you have a name of the brand(s) who sale this ? I live in Europe (Belgium). Thx !!
Good job on the electrics. I would like to see the labels restored though.
Nice job, if you can then for the next time use some prominent color like a red, bleu, black, oranje. Never use metal or earthy/ pastel tints, make it stand out, especially with a sanded down metal foot as contrast. Also whenever sanding for a flat service my tip is to glue the sandpaper on a piece of glass window since it’s so flat.
11:00 un motore elettrico in acqua mi fa sempre tanta impressione XD Complimenti per l'abilità ottimo lavoro
Excelente...! ..my Friend...ji ji ji.. Saludossss
Parabéns.
Wonderful
Brilliant! Subscribed, Liked and Notified.
Makita used to be white not blue?
Oh Lordy, new knives on that ratty old bit of pallet wood! I was just waiting for it to hit a nail 😩
Nice 👍🏻👍🏻 🇮🇳 || Kuki 19|01|2022
good job 👌🏻
Good work. Maybe you could explain a little better what you are doing, the cleaners you use, tools, paints, etc.
Very good!
Eres un crack
Finger grooves in the sanding always use a block
rất cẩn thận, tỉ mỉ, nhưng hãy cẩn thận với cuộn dây đồng
I like it, but had to be painted in Makitas signature colors.
I honestly thought at one point, “this guys going to start stripping it down to the bare copper wires
훌륭하십니다
Amazing..👍👍👍
Kinda bummed he didn’t repaint it that, iconic Makita blue/green color. Good restoration though.
Amazing
