Old NORDIC hammer Restoration with AMAZING outcome
Restoration of an old NORDIC hammer from T.O.R., Sweden. I do a beautiful job on this old tool and add some cool custom engravings. See the amazing outcome!
THE NORDIC HAMMER
This is a Swedish made TOR hammer. I got it from a local farmer. It was fully functional and had an incredibly beautiful layer of rust. There was a lot of scratches and craters in the metal.
THE RESTORATION PROCESS
I carefully disassembled the hammer shaft from the head and sandblasted the metal. I did a lot of grinding and sanding to get rid of all the scars after many years of hard work. I did a custom Nordic Viking’ish design and engraved it into the metal. I also mirror polished both hammer ends and the engraving details. I reused the shaft and added a symbol of Thor viking rune on the shaft. I am VERY satisfied with this restoration video and I hope that you enjoy it too.

Chris, so true. I was thinking early on, if this is an "old Nordic" hammer, why would you restore 'history'? Why would yow want to make something of historical value into something shiney and modern? I gave the title of this video post more value and credit than it deserved (my error.) It's really just an old rusty Nordic type hammer (is that correct?) restored to look like DIY. The guy has a slew of tech gear and equipment and seems very savvy with it all, and good for him. This is a curiosity video for me because I'm not about to restore something I will have to dust. LOL. I love the actual story of the crafting of Mjölnir. Loki wanted to screw with it for reasons, so he turned into a horsefly and kept biting the dwarves. They mostly ignored it, but at one point one of them stops to swat him and they mess up with the bellows and part of the handle gets heated unevenly and breaks off. So according to the actual mythology Mjölnir has a comically short handle.

The laser etch "SUBSCRIBE" was a nice touch.
Ok, that Laser was pretty Bad Azz! I loved it! I didn't wanna say a ugly word here 🤣 that was craziness! Thank you for the videos!!
Bro you must be the most chilled person on the face of the earth. To spend the time you do, restoring these things to this impeccable standard must be so cathartic. I imagine being in your workshop is like a visit to buddhas temple!! Keep on keeping on my dude 💚

thanks a lot for your comment :)
You converted an ordinary hammer to a piece of fine art with ethnic significance. Excellent!

Now if only it was still a hammer, but it's just art at this point. Technically still capable of driving nails into the wall, but no one would use it for that... aesthetics before function, it seems...

András Kovács using a 1.2kg sledgehammer to drive nails into a wall would honestly be pretty stupid anyways.
