Old Knife Restoration - S&S Helle Knife Restoration
On first look this old knife appears as Mora, but it is not. This is a S&S Helle knife manufactured in small town Holmedal, Norway. I am not sure that this leather sheath came originally with this old S&S Helle knife but anyway I will try to refresh it and make it look decent.

See this channel is interesting because this guy reuses everything whereas other channels won’t even bother with the washers and handles sometimes and will just make new ones that’s pretty cool

Small learning point do you ever clean/polish inside the old wooden handles? And if so how, as I’ve seen you clean inside the caps at the blade base.
@FFD_Restorations
3 жыл бұрын
When I can, I do cleaning with a small file, but the thing that I always do is to blow out the lose dirt and rust. Polishing inside, no I don't do that...

No, it is not a filler. It serves for refreshing and protecting the leather. Also for polishing. It is a Norwegian product, not sure it is sold worldwide...
good job! how did you get the knife so sharp? are you smoothed on sandpaper and finished on leather? Or did I miss something?
@FFD_Restorations

Thanks, yeah that it right. Sanding - sharpening in same go and then I finish it on leather. It does take a lot of time to sand by hand, but I don't have to sharpen it afterwards 😆 Thanks for watching 👍
