My wife and I cook for youth camps. Nothing fancy but a lot of good food. One young girl said, "I know you love us because you feed us good." It could be a miserable cold, rainy camp but if the food good, hot and a lot of it, it was a great camp. Add this one to our next camp.

So I actually made homemade Chicken fried steak, mash potatoes with a white gravy, and stuffing last night for my bestfriends as his wife is pregnant and that's what she was craving and it gave him a break after coming home after being out in the weather with his job. Happy family and an amazing dinner that was so great.

Corn and mashed potatoes in their different corners and milk gravy over everything (except the gravy on the potatoes had to stay in the hole in the middle... It wasn't the same if the gravy spilled over or leaked out the bottom.) Now I like it all mixed up... a little meat, veg and starch all in one bite. 💖🌞🌵😷

After more than 40 years of marriage, my wife still thinks I am touched in the head for mixing them all together, but I've loved it my entire life. (My wife will eat mashed potatoes peas and gravy, but the gravy has to be only on the mashed potatoes and the peas must be separate! But I love her anyway, and apparently she puts up with me!)

This is the classic👍. Sometimes instead of mashed potatoes, I'll bake em skin on, and then chop em up to rough 1/2" size, with the flavorful skins. Make extra gravy... chunky taters with gravy is a big hit. If making real mashers, a variation I like is to mix whole kernel corn into the mashed.. Gives it a bit of texture, and extra flavors to savor. Thank you for bringing this classic back👌👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Made this hamburger steak last night… I did cut back the chuck to 1 lb (for two people) and adjusted the seasoning. But made the full compliment of gravy. Only change was adding some sliced portobello mushrooms to the gravy. Mashed potatoes and peas. Five star comfort food.

Just made the Hamburger Steak and Gravy meal tonight. However, like you I'm older and my Dr. says I can have one 8 oz. Hamburger a week. My hamburger tonight was ground chicken instead of beef. Oh my, yummy. Thanks to you and Shannon I made good points with my hungry wife. God bless both of you.

Kent that looks amazing. I make mine pretty close to that but didn't know about the Parmesan. I'm trying to tomorrow for sure. I have a little tip for the people in the family who love mushrooms. If you want, you can saute half a pound of mushrooms along with those onions and add a can of Golden Mushroom soup to the mix. They'll love you for it. Thanks for another fantastic recipe and I hope that you and Shan and the barkers are all doing great.
