Butterscotch pie was Mother’s favourite! She seldom had it, except looked forward to eating it every year when we went to the cottage. We took my Dad’s aunts to the annual church social in the country where they grew up in the late 1800’s! The last time we went there was in 1966 and my Dad ate 10 pieces of pie!! He had no meat or salads. Just pies! The church ladies couldn’t believe it 😂😂 I am going to try your recipe as I love anything butterscotch. Even my first cat’s name was Butterscotch! 😅. Thanks for sharing! 👏🏻👏🏻🧑🏻🦰🇨🇦

My first cat was named Butterscotch too because of her color!

@@Barbarra63297 I too named my cat Butterscotch because of his colour. My mother shortened his name to just “ Baby”. One dark evening when my mother went outside the front door to call the cat to come back in for the night, She called out “ Come on Baby, come on home!”. Unbeknownst to her, before she had come out the front door, the neighbour across the street had come home and parked his car in his garage. When he heard my mother calling my cat, he walked out of his garage and yelled over to her “ I’ll be right over! “ They both started laughing so hard. They knew each other from high school, so it was only silly joking! 😂😂
We love butterscotch and will make this pie soon!! Thanks Tammy!!
I will love this. Only thing is I dont want any type of topping on that wonderful pie. Just the butterscotch and the crust. Yum
Can you post the recipe in the comments

@@debbiechaney6607I did crafts when I lived in Simi, did even more after I moved back to Texas. There was a place called Garden Ridge not even a half mile from me. It was 3 acres of fabulous craft supplies! First time I went my shoes sort of hurt my feet, it would have taken me less than ten minutes to go home and back but I couldn’t make myself leave! I just took my shoes off and continued on. Garden Ridge no longer exists, people know it as At Home now, and At Home is really nice, but I’ll never enjoy it as much as I did Garden Ridge, sort of like when someone decided to redo Pic n Save, they took the fun out of it.

Butterscotch pie is one of my dad's favorites, but I had forgotten. Guess I'll be making dad his favorite pie. Thanks, Tammy, for the reminder!
I like the tip of a towel over the whipped cream 😋
I enjoy eating the thick top of the pudding separately
I'll take a slice Tammy 😊
One of my favorite pies right there. I made one once but it didn’t have that good butterscotch flavor. Will have to try this recipe. Tammy’s recipes never fails!

Me 2, but now I know why. Tammy said the homemade butterscotch doesn't develop its full flavor til it sits overnight in fridge. So knowing this now, I'll try making it again.
I put the bowl and beaters in refrigerator and it went so quick.
Thanks so much for sharing ❤
Looks amazing Tammy 😋 love butterscotch pie.
The good angel on my shoulder - we’re going to eat healthy and start intermittent fasting again. 7 generations of the South on my other shoulder- we’re going to stumble upon this lady from Rome, Georgia’s cooking channel and ignore that other clown. New subscriber. Literally salivating.
I dont think I've ever had butterscotch pie. My Momma cheated me! Lol. I do remember as a kid, my grandmother had a candy jar on her coffee table that always had butterscotch hard candies in it, and I loved those things. If I make to heaven, my Momma got some explaining to do about some butterscotch pie! Lol.
Butterscotch is my favorite flavor of pudding.
My momma made homemade butter scotch pie’s and pudding. It was my father’s favorite. Thank you so much for sharing this 💕🙏🙏
Oh my word, that looks so good! I remember the first time I ever tasted butterscotch as a kid and I was hooked from then on! God bless you.
Yummy butterscotch 🥧 Delicious..
Oh boy my mouth is watering. Btw, you looked mighty fetchin in that apron with the flowers. You always look good though. 👍
I am not a fan of butterscotch. I guess that's one of those flavors you either like or don't but I am a fan of watching you cook and learning tips and tricks for making things extra good 😊❤
Good Evening, Tammy and Chris . The first time I ate butterscotch pie . My Mother-In-law made it . She use white sugar and caramelized it . I lost the recipe . We'll try your recipe .
Have never made a butterscotch pie, I'm sure it is good, I love a Chocolate, or Banana Cream.
Tammy! I’m 64 and this brought a childhood memory up. I was 14 my best friend 15, her grandmother bought in a butterscotch pudding in with meringue top . We tore into that pudding and left maybe a 1/4 . It was the best thing I’d ever had . Thanks for the memory
Love you Tammy
Love! Yum! You're the best Tammy and Chris! Hope you had a wonderful Mothers Day!
Looks delicious 😋
Umm yummy 😋 Blessings 🙏❤️
This looks delicious! Thanks for the recipe. I have to admit I had no idea what the trivet was for. It took me a while to realize the pie dish was resting on it, and not the trivet sitting inside the dish. 🤣🤣
Looks good! I can't wait to try this!
YUMMY!
Yum!! I love butterscotch pie and yours looks delicious. I need to make it. I have noticed that you have changed up your cooking show. You do such a great job. I love that you are real and share so many good recipes with us. Thank you!
Never made a butterscotch pie but sounds and looks awesome and delicious..❤
I was so relieved when you moved that open jar of molasses away from the edge of the counter.
A beautiful pie. Mama never made that, but im going to make it ❤
Looks Amazing
Call me crazy but I love for the pudding to have a thick top to form on it
Leave off the nutmeg. I don’t like nutmeg!!
My mom used to make homemade pie like that one of my favorites will have to try
Lovely pie! I’m sure it’s delicious ❤
Love your cooking, Tammy.😊😊
👁👁 Can’t wait to make this my own I’ll make my scratch crust And cook the filling on the range as I don’t like microwaving…thanks 🫶🏼
Butterscotch meringue was my mother in law’s favorite pie, I made her several of them when we lived near each other, after we moved, I got her brother to buy one at a drive in restaurant that made homemade pies. She was so happy to get another pie. I loved my inlaws!
Sounds yummy, Tammy😊
That's a gorgeous pie , Tammy. Thanks for always sharing with us. Love and Blessings from Eastern Kentucky
Love the kitchen and the pie looks delicious I think I’ll make it
Oh I love the flavor of butterscotch. Definitely making this for my family. Thanks
Hey Tammy I've been watching your videos for a while a few years I would just like to say thank you so much for everything you've brought into my! Grew up on butterscotch pie in north west Ohio
Love Butterscotch Pie! Mom made it when we were growing up and we could have eaten that whole pie between brother and I. I make my own brown sugar, I make a double batch of light then take half away and put it in container then I add more Grandma's molasses and make the rest dark, saves time and money doing it yourself and you rarely run out. I also make my own Cool Whip, it's so easy and it tastes and looks like store bought and it freezes just the same. Now you got me hungry to make butterscotch pie!
Hi Tammy nice to see you again. That pie is going to be absolutely delicious !!!
Looks so yummy.
You never done it like that before.

There are a couple of recipes for that on collardvalleycooks.com
Hi Tammy & Chris! We've enjoyed this pie countless times after discovering the recipe in your cookbook. It reminded me so much of my grandmother's recipe, if she knew company was coming, she would always make the pies a day ahead; she said they tasted better the second day. She must've been right.,...there were never any leftovers! Thanks for another video, y'all! 🌞
Tammy, southern girl. Do you have a recipe for carrots called copper pennies. My gram made them for family reunuons.

I don't
My mother was an outstanding cook, although she never made butterscotch pie. I always made it with "cook and serve" butterscotch pudding mix because all the butterscotch recipes I could find required making a caramel, and I didn't want to bother -- especially because I liked the mix just fine. I can't wait to try your recipe, though. I've two suggestions for you to try. Make it with a ginger snap crust and top it with toasted marshmallows. (I always cut large marshmallows in half with the cut surface on the bottom to get more toastiness.)
Oh this makes me hungry for butterscotch! The pie turned out beautifully!
I have never eaten a butterscotch pie it looks very delicious. I love butterscotch candy
My husband loved this pie ,your pie is a little different but I want to make this and add whip cream.❤
My dad used to make this pie and he named it after me. All time favorite.
My husband always comments on the smoothness of the pudding now that I use your pudding recipes. And microwaving means no more scorching in the pan. Thanks so much, Tammy!

It's funny u just sd that about bananas in the fridge, I made an old fashioned banana pudding and gave some to my granddaughter, when she took it out of the fridge, she thought the bananas were bad bc they were black soooo she threw it away. I was so upset with her.

So glad to have you watching! Yes, I love to eat my banana pudding the day I make it. My husband will eat it the next day but I just cannot do it. I sure hope you try some of our recipes
My grandma made this. It is my favorite homemade pudding. Sometimes it does not even make it to a pie!! We eat it without whipped cream, cool whip or meringue. Thank you for bringing back some great memories for me! ❤ Ours always tasted more like carmel than butterscotch. 😊
My grandma made her caramel with white sugar and a hot as fire cast iron skillet in the oven. I wish I had the recipe. She never wrote anything down. ❤
My husband loves butterscotch pie. This looks fabulous and I’m sure so much better than the chemical laden box kind It’s amazing how smooth your cut piece looked afterwards. Mine would have whipped cream all over the butterscotch part. 😊
"It's not instant butterscotch pudding"... it's butterscotch pudding in an instant! I love that you showed us how to make pudding so quickly in the microwave! Game-changer!!! 👍😊👍 Love ya!
Do you have to cool the pudding before you put it in the crust?

No
That made me jump when you were whipping the cream and you sped up the video. There was a sudden jerk and I thought the towel got caught by the beaters. Oh Lordy! 😂
I’ve made all your pie recipes in the microwave, and they are absolutely delicious! It’s the only way I make them now !
Beautiful and I’m so glad you made real whip cream, so much better than cool whip, and so easy to make!❤ 🥧 😋
Tammy your butterscotch pie looks yummy !!😋 Mmmm! I wish I had a piece right now !! TFS !🤗🥧♥️
Always been my fave but my granny always used light brown sugar. I love your microwave method! ❤️
Am going try make this pie seems so easy
I love butterscotch pie. Haven’t had one in many years. Now I have an easy recipe and I know yours will be perfect. Thank you Tammy and Chris. Love ya ❤
I’ve only ever made homemade butterscotch pudding, but pie would be better.
Of course I use boxed pudding in quickie recipes, but except for tapioca pudding, I have never had boxed pudding. Oops, I lied. I’ve made a quick rice pudding with cook n serve vanilla pudding. It’s not bad. My mother always made pudding from scratch including her tapioca pudding and rice pudding. She used the huge pearls of tapioca. I just loved it. To this day, I love tapioca pudding.
Hello Tami, greetings from Canada. My wife & I watch your channel every chance we get, keep up the great work, love you, God Bless!❤

My mother-in-law made beautiful butterscotch pie. I'm gunna compare your recipe to hers. She loved making all kinds of pies. Never used a pudding mix, ever. Tammy, yours is so pretty. Thanks for the fond memory.
looks beautiful, that is a pie I would love to eat "after somebody else makes it,"
I *love* butterscotch pie. I tried making my mom's but it was a sloppy epic fail. Definitely, I am going to try this pie (maybe even this (Canadian) long weekend!) Thank you, Tammy! God Bless
That looks great! Going to try it!!!
I love butterscotch pudding. Now i can make butterscotch pudding pie for my brother. Thank you for this recipe.
What if you dont have or use a microwave? Do you put it on the stove? I dont use coolwhip, its full of chemicals and plastic, whipping cream is the best way
A beautiful looking pie indeed. I’m sure it tastes soooo good 😋
