Old Family Guy may be something else, but it was wholesome, Peter bullied Meg and still loves her, Brian was the voice of reasoning throughout the show, and Stewie was devilish yet charismatic.

At least with old Family Guy, while they were mean spirited or cynical, there was at least some semblance of humanity to their characters. But ever since season 10 to the present day, they've all become irredeemable, unrelatable, unapologetic jacka-ses. Meg, after finally letting the family have it for all neglect, pain, and frustration they've put her through, is now totally fine being the punching bag for abuse from the family because at least it keeps *them* happy. Brian, ever since Stewie made the mistake of saving him from death, has gone from being the voice of reason to being a fake self centered wannabe chode who'll do anything to get in a woman's pants, even lie about having herpes, which he gave to a baby via blood swap pact. Stewie went from wanting to kill Lois and take over the world to just being the cliche closeted LGBTQ stereotype, always wanting to get it on with Brian in their *will they, won't they* frenemy shtick. He even revealed he's not really British, shattering the illusion built for years, only to be reset once again for the status quo.

@toasterowens8916 I catch some here here and there, but I still do not like what the characters have become. Half their adventures are just a complete waste of time. Even their attempted reboot episode was completely pointless, or the one where the makers kick Peter off the show since they're just sticking to the same old anyway. We keep giving them the benefit of the doubt, and they keep giving the finger to expectations.

Just gonna add this,Peter did used to work at a toy factory. I'm not sure when it changed or why he left,but the brewery is a later thing (but not too much later,probably in one of the first couple seasons)

I think the episode is of Peter messing up at work, invited his boss to work and Grim Reaper and Dog Grim Reaper showed up.

fun fact the way Joe got crippled actually wasn't a retcon, or it was at least acknowledged in the episode where joe tells the new version. Basically Joe explains he was too embarrassed to tell the real story so he made up the one about fighting the grinch.

It wasn't technically the first anime, just the first to rise to the popularity it did. There were at least 9 films and shows before Astro Boy, the oldest recognized being made circa World War 2 as a propaganda film, though there were a handful made before that. It's debated on which animes could be recognized as a unique Japanese style and not just animation, I personally consider the older ones to just be animations and nothing unique. Astro Boy WAS, however, the first to truly embody what we now know and love as true anime. The drawing style, storyline, pacing, and voice acting stood out in ways Disney animations didn't and excited people of all ages. What you said was true, I was just adding onto it. I'm no expert, I honestly didn't know Astro Boy was originally an anime until fairly recently. I remember when the movie came out, I absolutely loved it as a kid! I'm just going off of what I already knew and what I researched.

15:36 What occurred in this scene is a shift in perspective, the room did not expand and shrink, in one shot you can see the TV, meaning that the "camera" or framing of the shot is from *behind* the TV, and in the next shot, the TV is gone, meaning that we've zoomed in and are now approaching the same room from a closer point at a new angle.

OG Family Guy was the best. It was still kinda wholesome and not too cruel and mean! Also Early Family Guy made me realize they put A LOT of focus on Meg and barely did nothing for Chris!

That transition to the ad was pretty smooth

Joe's fall from handicapable super-cop to a depressed suicidal dark joke is unfortunately accurate. A number of long-term studies have found many handicapped people, including those with an initially positive outlook, suffer from severe depression as they get older as their handicap compounds with the wear and tear of aging.

In old Family Guy, Peter DID work in a Toy Factory. I didn’t see the episode where it happened, but he then swapped to the Brewery.

I'm sure a few other people have said this but Peter did indeed use to work at a toy factory. But then he got fired and had to look for a new job. I think it was sometime in Season 2 or maybe 3. But it was one of the really early seasons when peter did get a job at the brewery

Meg, then Joe, I think it’s being friends with Peter that do this to people Cleveland is also on that route, or at least was for a bit after he came back from his own show. I think Joe is a punching bag because they’re the only group that doesn’t cancel shows if they get made fun of. Like all these shows being too afraid to show diversity, at the risk of being canceled for making jokes or not being accurate, are making us lose representation. A lot of people don’t know or they want you to forget, but Cleveland Show wasn’t canceled because it wasn’t doing well. Me and my family tuned in almost every week. They got canceled because stupid babies were upset a white guy voiced a black guy.

The reason why the first 5 seasons of Family Guy is so good is because of how well it’s written and it’s comedic timing. Lois was actually a caring mother but has a tendency to give in to her adrenaline rush of stealing, attention and sex. Peter and Chris were both charming but dumb simpletons (clearly Homer Simpson inspired) Stewie was a charming and highly intelligent baby that has evil and villainous like plans Brian was a likeable intellectual dog that can talk but gets carried away at times through Peter’s shenanigans, and can get carried away when he gets praised and admired which gives way to his narcissism (though it was subtle in the first 5 or so seasons, now the narcissism is pretty much his character). And Meg was actually cared for and the disliking was only in a playful manner at first before it all become just to shit on her. It worked so well because they were an actual family, now they’ve become all assholes that are just really unlikable and none of them get along.

Think about this for a moment. The baby who played the sun now has a baby of her own

OK, so just so both of you guys know Peter worked at a toy factory for like 3 1/2 years and then when he when Mr. weed died at his house from choking on a dinner roll. And then a cigarette company bought the toy company and then I think it was turned into something else and then Peter got fired and then he got his job at the Pawtucket brewery which I believe he’s systems analyzation or something of that nature.
