It's weird, I saw them play this live a few days after Kurt died and Ben Shepard lost it completely, throwing his bass down and walking off stage. Never thought that lyric would mean anything else to me. Boy was I wrong. Rest in peace Chris.

As a drummer the thing that always got me about soundgarden is the fills - every song is a masterclass on snare placement within fills, and unless it is intentionally left out for effect, every fill will have a snare on 2 and 4. I've spent hours and hours trying to emulate Matt's feel but although I can copy all his fills, I can never come close to the musicianship needed to create those from scratch myself

Chris Cornell is perfection - in front of Soundgarden, Audioslave, Temple of the Dog, or on stage alone. His voice resonates in my soul. "No one sings like you anymore" sums it up perfectly. Chris was a god amongst men and the world is darker without him. I wish all of our love had been enough to save him. You could throw a dart at the catalogs of music I listed above and come up with something great to listen to, but I recommend: Fell on Dark Days (Soundgarden), Show Me How to Live (Audioslave), Hunger Strike (ToTD) with Eddie Vedder, and if you should just want to listen to his incredible voice, listen to his cover of "Nothing Compares to You".

To this day 2 of my favourite SG tracks are "Ugly truth" and" Hands all over", the opening tracks of that Louder Than Love album. Since you're into production, Ugly Truth is a recording you really should check out. Especially the mid-section where they recorded all these layers of high pitched psychedelic guitar notes creating these harmonic waves with Chris's screaming: If you were mine to give I might throw it away, panning from one side to the other back and forth with a nice phaser on top of it. Absolute "Makes you face melt" material.

Huge fan of everything Soundgarden here! One of my favourites is in fact the last track off what is currently their final album,King Animal, called ‘Rowing’. It’s got a great bass riff and is so awesomely haunting due to the killer vocals and arrangements.

Chris Cornell the lead singer of Soundgarden died May 18, 2017, one of their biggest hit songs was "Black hole sun". A few months later August 21, 2017 was a total solar eclipse "Great American Eclipse" . It was literally a "black hole sun", last one to happen was in the 70s.

Another of my favorite bands! Great Soundgarden songs: burden in my hand, pretty noose, the day I tried to live. ALSO Chris Cornell sang with two supergroups Temple of the Dog and Audioslave. Check out "say hello to heaven" by Temple of the dog. Also, hear your voice going, man take care of yourself and hope u get better soon

Good grief, this music is so much a part of my personal soundtrack, I have a hard time remembering it is now 30 years old! Can’t explain how much it mirrored my own emotional journey through my teens and 20’s. I was also reading too much Nietzsche at the time, coincidentally. 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

P.P.S. - Nirvana was everything to me in my youth but as I got older I realized just how amazing Soundgarden was & still is. They were able to paint such beautifully dark pictures with their sound while creating such powerful emotion in the listener that can bring one to tears (which I have on several occasions). Also, have you ever thought about how crazy it was that so much talent cane out of that area in Washington? So much talent that It's like the universe wanted to express itself so badly that it pooled all of it's energy in one area to make sure it was heard.

His vocals go through so many different tones, trying to sing along to it is a real exercise, the arrangement is amazing, bands great, vocal layering is incredible. etc etc. Rest in peace Chris. And i appriciate your honesty dude. if i get a few extra bucks i'll toss it your way. stuffs so tight right now, but i value your content.

This band blows me away. Chris is one of the greatest singers in the history of rock, and KimThayil is such an underrated guitarist. I can clearly hear the influence of traditional Indian music in the way he plays. It sets them apart.

This is my favorite Soundgarden song. Not that there isn't other great songs by them but this one is the first song I think of when someone mentions this band. I just love it. Thanks for the vid! Outshined, Fell of Black Days, Burden in my Hand are a few good tunes by them. I'm sure some true Soundgarden fans out there can give you some good deeper cuts.

One of my top three from that album. The layered vocal harmonies are incredible. And the sludge in the guitar tone is so thick it sounds like the amps are submerged in a vat of molasses.
