This video was supposed to be released almost two months ago. The script and the recording are from the day 0.28 was released, which is why I talk about everything as if it were new. Finals and studying began shortly after, and I was busy when they were done as well. Coupled with a burnout, and you have a 0.28 video that’s two months late. However, I’d spent so much time and was semi-proud of the product so I decided to finish it anyways; I didn't want something like this to die. Some stuff of note:
- The script also included me talking about the new missions and some smaller changes. However, I wasn’t very satisfied with the result over time and I thought that it didn’t bring much new to the table, so those parts were scrapped. The video would’ve been over twelve minutes long if it were still in.
-MuYe's 0.28 video was the only one I'd watched prior to making this. If anything I say sounds too similar to anyone else's, it wasn't on purpose.
- My opinions have changed a little in the months following this. For specifics:
- I still like the 800 Series refresh, but the performance versions have an issue with tire grip that makes them control much worse than they need to be. Simply changing out the tires offsets this and they turn out to be really fun, but players shouldn’t be required to switch out parts just to have a fun time, so that’s the one big thing holding it back. If it’s fixed, it’s probably my favorite rework again.
- The K-Series refresh has the same issue with some of its performance versions, but I tend to notice that less because the GT-IV config doesn’t and it’s now my most played config in the game…so for me personally I definitely got some good out of it.
- I didn’t consider the various bugs that came with the update in my own opinions, rather I focused on the content itself. Still, that’s a valid reason to have concerns with 0.28.
I’m overall not as optimistic towards this update as I was when I first made the script, but at the same time I still like it enough to roll with what it has. I don’t feel like being a saltlord so I won’t.
